Heres a 380SL with a diesel for sale. I will promise you purchasing this car would be a deal compared to what it will cost to do this. httpwww.benzworld.orgforumsr-c1...diesel-sl.html
Im pretty sure the car wouldnt be registerable in california but I may be wrong. I heard you cannot convert a gas to diesel here which sucks so be sure and contact CARB or BAR and make sure the car will be able to be driven on the streets. Good luck
Why for crying out loud you want to do such a foolish thing. You really want to drive a convertible with the nailing of a diesel engine and no power Ulf

I love the style of the old SL and the economy of a diesel. I wish the japanese and the european would share with us some of their awsome diesel 2 doors and SUV.
Looks like a fun way to make a living. Great pics.
I did it again today. I slipped off the packed snow and went in up to my groin. I asked one of the other people there to take a picture just for fun. Im not resting on a knee folded under me my weight is being supported by the snow my right leg is stuck in. I still havent hit bottom of the snow. With the boots gaiters insulated pants and the clothing underneath Im not cold in the least. Snow is actually
Cool but where are the engine pix OM617.9xx turbo diesels I presume
Back home now. Didnt get to take too many pics on Wednesday a storm was coming in so we were kept busy. I think I got a couple off but Ill have to extract them from my camera. Thursday started out in Leadville with 15 F and snow. The last 7 miles to the Eisenhower Tunnel were very limited visibility and packed snow. When we got to Denver it was 50 F clear and windy. They wouldnt let us see the engines
