Im pretty sure you can order from the dealer as when I bought mine I also wanted floor mats and they quoted me a price but found them cheaper on eBay so ordered from there. They are very good quality but not exactly the same as the R129 mats have SL stitched into them whereas mine has the MB star. Next time I need mats I will order from the dealer.

They should still be available from the dealer. If you cant try GGbailey.com I have purchased mats from them for my E420 and they are virtually identical to factory mats including the foam backing etc. I suppose an expert could tell they werent factory but it would take some work. And if you want the factory fabric and construction but with additional lettering or something else unique they can do that as well. httpblog.ggbailey.commercedes-benz-floor-mats
Id like the real OEM mats that came with the factory snaps that keep them anchored to the carpet properly.
heres one possible source. Style Auto and Luxury
I have purchased mats from AutoSport via the web. Dont know if they have the exact ones you are looking for but Ive been happy with the price quality and service.

If I cant find mats that match the originals I may buy the Cocomats (I am not far from their location).
Here are the before and after photos of what I did. I used 18 press board. Its smooth both sides. I used the old panel as a template. Be very careful in drilling the holes in precisely the same places. Worked like a charm. Dont forget to put a plastic liner between your door and your new panel. Very Important Loren
Thanks..I think MDF and press board must be the same thing. How did you remove and replace those rivets holding that top alloy rail The plastic I will replace..is this to do with aereationmoisture etc. in that cavity NB. I have a friend with a commercial computerised jiglathedrill set-up so I might get him to knock out a dozen or so while hes at it I wonder if the drawingsspecs are available otherwise Ill use the old as a template...
I think I just pushed those rivets out from the back side. Those are the holes that must be precise. The plastic is your moisture barrier. I just used my old card as a template clamped to the (rough cut) new board and then drilled from the the template side. I dont know of any drawings or paper template available. Loren
Have you considered these Just click on the link to Door Panels in the top menu. 99 Pr . which isnt too bad but shipping might be the major drawback. Door Panels Loren
mats are easy. A Midas muffler it will make it sound strange at the very least. I cant tell you if theres a separate fuse for the clock. Your fuse box lid should have an indicator card. By the way these two auctions claim to be for OEM mercedes floor mats but they look different mercedes benz NEW 380SL 450SL 560SL Black Floor mats eBay and Genuine OEM mercedes benz SL Class R107 Black carpeted Floor mats 1971 1989 eBay Which one was original to the American 73 450SL
I searched completed listings and found this as a comparable. Interesting. I think this ad proves some of my points. The seller says everything in the interior is original but the 1973 has lots of wood that doesnt belong there. So as you see the person who paid 17000 (if the transaction really occurred) probably was not an enthusiast like us. The key was probably the 61000 on the clock. mercedes-benz
Funny just came across these on eBay. Genuine mercedes benz SL Class R129 Black carpeted Floor mats 1999 2002 eBay

Just shook them a little and the dirt just falls off Vacuumed carpet underneath but mats looked and ARE great. I am doing a workover on my 85 300D. It has original carpets and mats. I wont repeat pics here but both 107 and 300D mat pics are in this thread httpwww.benzworld.orgforumsr-c1...-new-mats.html
Here is another custom set-up we did for the same dealer. mercedes benz SL550 with a carlsson Aero Kit on 20 x 9 and 20 x 10.5 Vossen VVS083 Custom Color matched Center matte Black Lip and a White Pinstripe Wheels.
Im sure a lot of us are aware of the Mampe Lufthansa 450SLC race car that has been up for sale for a while now. The only thing is it has been listed as a 450SLC 5.0 the whole time but the VIN shows it is actually a 500SLC. what is the story here were the other three race cars also 500SLCs Or did they start as 450SLC 5.0s on the earlier ones Hard to know without knowing what the VINs are. 1980 mercedes-benz

Havent seen it and I was at the local dealer parts dept. about a week ago to see if something like that was available from mercedes. Parts guy who has found all kinds of strange things Ive requested couldnt find one. so.... If anyone finds a part number well let us know. However GGBailey does make a rear cover like you mentioned. AFAIK GG bailey may either make the carpet mats for US mercedes or they
I think realtors driving expensive cars inspire confidence. Price is not an issue as the commission are set so it shows that you are successful. And all non-mercedes owners have no particular idea what an SL or a C Class is worth. They see mercedes and think expensive. My wife just the other day pointed out somebody driving a C Class as obviously rich and I tried to explain that a C Class is entry
GlueckAuf your advice does sound very practical thats part of what Im looking for. Shes very much a form over function girl...if she likes the way it looks thats all that matters. She works out runs great condition so I dont think the ins-and-outs will bother her too much. First one of these shed ever seen was a couple of years after we started dating. She made me flip a U turn in traffic so we could go back to look at that car. I didnt give her any indication of what I thought about it just what it was. Shes better at spotting them than I am and ALWAYS comments when she sees one unlike any other car on the road. Theyre very rare here we go weeks between spotting one. Shes on her 3rd small SUV doesnt have need for back seats any more since all of our kids are grown. Wed both like to get her into something more sporty it fits her better than the SUV IMHO. My neighbor had one given to him several months ago I think its an 86 It sat outside and deteriorated the seats paint roof everything. He has it running good I think he plans a paint job and interior replacement some day. Im sure he wouldnt mind my taking a test drive just to get a feel for the car. Unfortunately cant do it with her this has to be a total surprise. She likes vettes but one of my projects is an 81. The Solstice is a sporty little car all plastic no storage at all. Miata is a jelly bean. Theres not a whole lot more that fit the bill and nothing fits it as well as an SL... I once worked with a sporty looking gal who drove a piece of junk. One of my co-workers once remarked that if the woowoo was as good as she advertised it to be somebody would have bought her a better car by now. Ive never forgotten that sure would like to put mine in a mercedes...

I dont carry that much on a simple A to B drive in civilization. I bulk up on spare parts and tools when I know there wont be ANY help for miles and miles. Keep it simple or you might as well tow a spare SL. Uncommon parts like fuel pump relay fuel pump cap rotor ezl...that kind of stuff is always good to have handy. On the last benzyPalooza (see my sig) I even brought a spare alternator as I dont
For my cash I would find a good auto upholsterer and have them make you carpets. I am pretty sure they will make them so that all snaps and such are where they need to be for your car and the colors will match. There might be trouble with the insulating pads. If you have good ones they will recycle. If you have thrashed the shop might be able to source a viable replacement. I decided to forego the

selling it. I pulled the mat down from the garage attic for some pics. It needs a good cleaning but should clean up nicely and probably be almost as nice as the one in my 1973. So this isnt earth shattering information but I thought Id post it anyway so I can feel useful. I bought a new carpet set which clearly stated it would not come with the mercedes backing so I knew I would have to come up with something. I poked around in the forum and came up with material ideas easiest and best imho was straight up carpet padding. (Nobby) What I did that is different (I think) is
mercedes manufactures some colors WITHOUT gromments however the post are in the car. For example there are no OEM mercedes Teal-Blue mats with gromments. Will have to settle for custom mats because the alligator clips are not very effective.
