Ok so I have to ask will K-jet (0607) camshafts work in a D-jet motor with (5253) camshafts I know there is the difference between mechanical and hydraulic lifters also camshafts with oil grooves vs. camshafts without oil grooves. You cannot mix and match the two. But lets say theoretically you could take both camshaft assemblies off of a K-jet (camshafts and Bearings) and install them on a D-jet

In researching timing chain issues Ive been told to replace the camshaft oilers. Seeing them in on-line catalogs they just look like aluminum tubes. Heres my questions Are they just aluminum tubes If so why do they cost 100 each (I know its an MB but thats about the most expensive part on the job) Do I need one or two How exactly do aluminum tubes wear out Any advice is appreciated

Hello all I would like to get some feedback from others on the forum that have made performance upgrades to their 107s with the older D-Jetronic system. I currently have a stock 75 450 sl I believe it to be a California motor. Current compression is 81 cats underhood egr air pump all installed. I plan on swapping the headers out for ones without the under hood cats and running a high flow exhaust.

Ive read all the admonishments about updating the timing chain lest itll break destroying the engine and by golly Im a convert. But... I just read an ad in my area for a 91 560 with a timing chain failure and bent valves. I assume nobody has taken this engine apart to verify the damage...its more like well if the timing chain breaks throw in the towel. So the real question is...what really happens

A number of things could happen when the chain breaks. First off when the break happens the camshaft no longer turns which means the valves are stuck in their present position. However the crankshaft continues to turn which means the pistons come up and hit the valves bending them and also may punch holes in the piston crowns. I have a strange thing happening just finished installing rod bearings on my SLC 026 and fired it up today only to smell strong odors of gasoline. I bought the BOSCH 7442 plugs Crankcase camshaft sensors at autohausAz.com and searched eBay or Amazon for a BOSCH ONLY 95.00 MAF sensor. As you already know you dont need the whole MAF assembly.
