MERCEDES BENZ CLK I 208 Power Steering Pump making Noise

My powr steering pump is making heeelllla noise I have been checking around on the forum but no one with a clk is having this problem...so before i spend 700 on a new pump i want to know if their is somthin to do. I had my Serv B done and the Mechanic only said the pwr str pump was making noise ( wat a help right) so if ya know anything please lend me some of your kmowledge..thanx..by the way its a 2001 clk 430 w 102k

Hey cash. I guess the first question is whether youve already changed the PS fluid If not start there. If so there is an additive (if you search in the 210 forum youll find it) that is some special stuff from MB that is pretty expensive but is supposed to quiet down noises from the pump and rack. Take care and enjoy the ride Greg

Take a close look at your PS pump. Mine started leaking and then self-destructed requiring a full system flush with the new pump.

MERCEDES BENZ CLS I 219 Dealer gave me wrong type of Power Steering fluid ....... or did he

This story also apply to W211 & W209 BTW. Most of us who own either of W219(CLS class) W211 (E class) or W209 (clk) class and read the manual believe that our cars use green color Pentosin power steering fluid with MB part Q 1 32 0001. I have attached a page from the 2007 mercedes manual to show the recommendation of the Pentosin fluid for these cars. So when power steering fluid level got too low

MERCEDES BENZ CLK I 208 Bleeding BrakesNo fluid coming out after pad change HELP

I just purchased a 2002 mercedes clk 430 that was repossessed. Everything works great on the car but the brakes. The shop I bought the car from told me the brakes were working great before they changed the pads. Once they changed the pads the pedal just went to the floor. They attempted to bleed the brakes with a pressurizer and no fluid would come out of any of the calipers. They tried and tried but

MERCEDES BENZ CLK II 209 Help with ghost in car

Hi all I am new to this forum I recently got a silver clk 270 avantgarde W209 model overall it is a great car however it has a steering issue. I have taken the car to several garages who agreed it is a strange fault but seemed unsure what to do short of changing parts on an elimination basis nice if you got the money. Advice has ranged from look at the springssuspension I had the steering fluid renewed

In case the fixes you are having done do not cure your problem I had a Jaguar once that had a power steering pump that come apart. I replaced the pump but the steering behaved similar as you decribe. When I took apart the steering rack I found a tiny piece of brass stuck in one of the orifices in the rack where the power steering fluid went. I extracted it put it back together worked perfectly.

I am planning to get a clk 240 soon anyway this is my experienced with my other rides. The steering rack sensors and pump with my Skyline probably works the same as the clk. I have rebuilt a rack after it start losing PS fluid after driving it for 1 year the problem still persist cos i get very hard steering input when doing spirited driving so thats not the main fault. Also changed the sensors but

MERCEDES BENZ CLK II 209 04 clk 500 engine replacement

Hello I work for a bodyshop as a mechanic I am working on a car i am currently swapping out an engine have a few questions that I am hoping you guys can answer I guess I will start by explaning the situation so bair with me . One of the insurance companies we work with brought us a 2004 clk 500 with 53000 miles with a bad engine said the owner drove through a flooded street and flooded the engine with

When you get it all together drop in the dipstick tool and see what it reads. Obviously it wont be accurate because the engine wont be running but if you get very little on the stick youd want to add a couple L before starting. PS Yep its special power steering fluid you can get at the dealer too. Fabbrisd1 posted about the priming procedure (done before starting the car) in this thread httpwww.benzworld.orgforumsw163...ing-whine.html

MERCEDES BENZ CLK II 209 ESP turned off on my CLK500

Hi I own a clk 500 2003 and want to spin the tires as in a burnout but the ESP wont allow it. Any suggestions

The ABS is a four-wheel system that prevents wheel lock-up by automatically modulating the brake pressure during an emergency stop. By preventing the wheels from locking it enables the driver to maintain steering control and to stop in the shortest possible distance under most conditions. During normal braking the ABS and non-ABS brake pedal feel will be the same. During ABS operation a pulsation can be felt in the brake pedal accompanied by a fall and then rise in brake pedal height and a clicking sound. Vehicles with ABS are equipped with a pedal-actuated dual-brake system. The hydraulic system consists of the following ABS hydraulic control valves and electronic control unit power brake booster Brake master cylinder Necessary brake tubes and hoses The anti-lock brake system consists of the following components Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU). Anti-lock brake control module. Front anti-lock brake sensors rear anti-lock brake sensors. Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) operates as follows When the brakes are applied fluid is forced from the brake master cylinder outlet ports to the HCU inlet ports. This pressure is transmitted through four normally open solenoid valves contained inside the HCU then through the outlet ports of the HCU to each wheel. The primary (rear) circuit of the brake master cylinder feeds the front brakes. The secondary (front) circuit of the brake master cylinder feeds the rear brakes. If the anti-lock brake control module senses a wheel is about to lock based on anti-lock brake sensor data it closes the normally open solenoid valve for that circuit. This prevents any more fluid from entering that circuit. The anti-lock brake control module then looks at the anti-lock brake sensor signal from the affected wheel again. If that wheel is still decelerating it opens the solenoid valve for that circuit. Once the affected wheel comes back up to speed the anti-lock brake control module returns the solenoid valves to their normal condition allowing fluid flow to the affected brake. The anti-lock brake control module monitors the electromechanical components of the system. Malfunction of the anti-lock brake system will cause the anti-lock brake control module to shut off or inhibit the system. However normal power-assisted braking remains. Loss of hydraulic fluid in the brake master cylinder will disable the anti-lock system. The 4-wheel anti-lock brake system is self-monitoring. When the ignition switch is turned to the RUN position the anti-lock brake control module will perform a preliminary self-check on the anti-lock electrical system indicated by a three second illumination of the yellow ABS wanting indicator. During vehicle operation including normal and anti-lock braking the anti-lock brake control module monitors all electrical anti-lock functions and some hydraulic operations. Each time the vehicle is driven as soon as vehicle speed reaches approximately 20 kmh (12 mph) the anti-lock brake control module turns on the pump motor for approximately one-half second. At this time a mechanical noise may be heard. This is a normal function of the self-check by the anti-lock brake control module. When the vehicle speed goes below 20 kmh (12 mph) the ABS turns off. Most malfunctions of the anti-lock brake system and traction control system if equipped will cause the yellow ABS warning indicator to be illuminated. Above is a general explanation that I copied and pasted here for general information and might be a little different from the mercedes ABS system.

MERCEDES BENZ CLK I 208 Oil leaking from unknown part....

To my horror the other day after I rinsed off my car in my driveway I found oil under the car mixed with water. I opened the hood while the engine was running and saw where the leak was comming from (Red arrow points to it) what is that called I researched the term Oil leak on this forum and saw the same part and read that It just needs a new rubber gasket but no part name was given. I want to go to the dealer and get the new gasket today. Anyone Thanks in advance.

Your arrow is pointing at the power steering pump. I had mine replaced yesturday because it was leaking from the top. There is no rebuild kit for it so you would have to buy a new one from the dealer. It would cost appox 700usd for a new pump Have the leak checked out my a mechanic good luck.... Was a reply I recieved from this guy on MBWorld The parts guy at the dealer told me that that part was the

MERCEDES BENZ CLK II 209 Feel guilty for asking.... wheel bearing

Good evening everyone. I feel bad that I only ask questions - still learning mercedes but if anyone needs help with old chevy trucks... dont hesitate Anywho I have a 2007 clk 350 just 50000 miles. Noticed last week twice when making a slow right turn a squeak squeak... didnt think much of it as it was just a couple squeaks. Today any movement of the wheel towards the passenger side there is a squeak

I had the wheels off about 1 month ago - I did the tip in tip out and side to side to check the wheel bearings (did it while I was checking my brake pads). There was no sign of hub play at all. I too thought 50k was too soon for a bearing to go. It does definately sound like a rotational squeak - in or out of gear at low speed - it increases and decreases with wheel speed - only when turning wheels

MERCEDES BENZ CLK II 209 Windshield Wipers & Washer Failed

Ive had a good look through the forum and cannot find

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS E III 211 Hello all - MB Newby needs serious help

Date registered Jan 2009 Vehicle 2003 E320 Sport Location NJFL Posts 1 Hello all - MB Newby -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello all - Just purchased a 2003 E320 Sport w 46500 miles. Very exited about my first benz. 08 Chevy Avalanche & Lexus ES 350 are my wife and Is other rides. Not so exited about the inspection report I just recieved from the local

2nd opinion from independent shop definitely good. A quick check for the power steering is to look and listen. Listen at start up for a power steering pump moanwhine. Look at the power steering fluid specifically check the color. The 2003 E320 uses Pentosin and is dark green in color. If it is anything other than dark green (ie. yellowish green yellowish brown or red) you have the wrong fluid in the
