MERCEDES BENZ CLK I 208 CLK Dust pollen filter

Has anyone changed this before Do you know the procedure thanks

Take out the glove box. Its on the lower left once its out. Pull it out. Dont worry its meant to shatter into pieces when you remove it. Put new one in reinstall glove box.

How often should this be done

When it starts to smell a bit moldy.... like very very old wet leather [)] Its part of B Service.

on the clk you dont have to pull out glove box. It is located by the passenger footwell. You only remove the glove box on an e class.

Wow... I will have to think about this again I actually have the new Cabin CarbonCharcoal filters (2 pcs) in hand ... so... I There is a link to the W208 DIY Carbon filter (2 pcs) change so it would be strange for mercedes to eliminate it in the W209 or make it smaller. The air filter above the battery is a white paper type. Not a Charcoal filter. The pollen filter is the same as the Carbon filter it will filter out small pollen particles and odors like diesel soot smell. Anyone else

MERCEDES BENZ CLK II 209 CLK320 (W209) whistling noise from centre vent

Hi All 1st post so here goes. recently bought a W209 petrol 3.2 absolultley love the car. however recently i have noticed a whistling tyoe noise coming from the centre vent when accelerating. have tried searching for some answers and not found much. any assistance would be great. thanks Taybz.

I had similar but not the same experience with my w209. I would hear whistling sound from the vents when I turned up the fan. I fixed it by replacing the pollen filter (203-830-09-18). This pollen filter is located on top of my car very easy to replace. A dirty filter would restrict the air flow and hence the whistling sound.

MERCEDES BENZ CLK I 208 Got a couple questions guys

One I know MB recommends 33 psi in back and 32 in fornt for tires. But I think that is too low. I put 35 in back and 33 in front. Seems to ride a bit better. What do you guys keep in it Im just running the normal 16 inch rim size. 205 tire size. Second I am notcing a greasy film on the inside of my windshield (windscreen) which i presume to be the heater core leaking anti-freeze into the car. I hope

Air comes in to your car from the passenger side base of your windshield. The air flows to a drainage box. With the grill at the bottom of the windshield removed youll probably see water in the bottom of the box. At the bottom of the box to the right there is a drainage tube. As jtbeche posted it may be blocked by leaves. If so water will accumulate until it can overflow into the pollen filter. The

Hi can someone tell me how to change the pollen filter i had a leak in my footwell. Now theres a funny smell in the car. I think it could be the filter

I think it could be the filter Yeah it probably is the filter thats causing the smell - mine was stinking too. The smell went when I changed the filter. I also had the air-conditioning system cleaned de-bugged as this can also cause stale smells.

MERCEDES BENZ CLK I 208 CEL P 0170

So yesterday my CEL came on. I researched the forum and from that I went to autozone and purchsed myself a OBD II code scanner. The P 0170 code came up indicating that there is a fuel trim malfunction on Bank 1. Further assessment indicates that this is on the drivers side on the engine. From that I cleared the CEL and added a bottle of Techtron engine cleaner. So I have driven about another 30 miles

So I drove my clk for another 1.5 weeks and the CEL came back on this time it was the P0170 and the P0173 indicating a fuel trim malfunction in both banks. Strange as it may seem the CEL came back on under same exact conditions as the first time. Driving on the highway doing about 65 or so & both times there was some type of pollen release from these trees that are along the sides of the highway near

MERCEDES BENZ CLK I 208 Max cold Air conditioning tips

Hi Guys I know theres many posts on the airconditioning units but I wanted to ask what is the best way to get the coolest air in your car. Should you have the blower on full or should you have the blower on a medium flow to get the coolest air. Also if you use the re-circulation button does this make the air cooler then without Many thanks

Couldnt tell you the cost because it was basically free. Last year had some massive problems with my AC system and the car was in the shop for a month - fortunately had my pick of several MBs to drive during that time complements of the dealership. They initially tried several things - the AC would shut down after a few minutes - restart then shut down again. - turned out it was a programming issue

MERCEDES BENZ CLK II 209 RPM Confusion Winter CLK 350 2006(coupe)

Hello All... So...I am hella confused as to how long I have to wait until I can drive off in the winter time after a cold start. I was living in a warmer climate (no cold winters) for the last few years all year round and I would drive shortly after start. But in the Winter time out here in NY what should I do to ensure proper care for me auto I have looked in my car manual...not much info on the specifics

Definitely change this air filter MB calls it the pollen filter. I remember once I neglected this air filter for 1-2 year it was so dirty that when I turned my vent high I would hear whinning whizzing noise. I changed it afterward and the whinning noise was gone. I would imagine with a clogged filter the blower motor will have to work harder thus will fail sooner This filter located above the battery is inexpensive and is easy to change.

It definitely wasnt my filter. I made a discovery on the scent today. Looks like an oil leak. Going to start a different thread so the question can get answered. Ill tag you Rudney and Keyhole...maybe you can chime in and give some advice. Quote Originally Posted by mis3 Definitely change this air filter MB calls it the pollen filter. For example I opened up my air filter boxes to check the filters and found

MERCEDES BENZ CLK II 209 Weird Aircon problem

I have a problem with my clk320 aircon in that for about five weeks now I have been getting no air from the ventsoutlets. It doesnt matter whether the AC is on or off or whether its on Manual or Auto. The fan runs fine but there is virtually no air exiting - UNLESS the Recirc button is pressed. I then get air from all vents as normal Now I know this doesnt make sense. I know that all the Recirc button

Problem solved - I think And it may be worth explaining as it may happen to others. Logic said that if I got air on Recirc but not otherwise then the fresh air inlet must be obstructed. But this didnt explain why it worked sometimes especially as no fault was flagged on STAR. First job was to check the operation of the fresh air flap - this worked perfectly. But a look at the pollen filter showed it

MERCEDES BENZ CLK I 208 CLK 200 interior fan inop or pleases itself.

Hi Ive had this problem since I bought the car but I never really thought about getting it done until now. The interior fan seems to have packed up recently. Before these last few weeks the speed of the fan has pretty much pleased itself turning on and off at will and varying speed. I have the control knob set to 5 (max) so it can control itself from 1 - 5 as it feels necessary. But as I say lately

I had a similar fault with my E class W210. The fault was the fan resistor located behind the dash on the passenger side of the car (UK Right hand drive) i then regained control of the desired fan speed Your cabin pollen filter may need replacing to cure the amount of air coming out of the vents. This is also located in the same area. If it has not been changed for a while it will be partially blocked with general dust etc
