MERCEDES BENZ CLK I 208 Windscreen washer tank leaking

Hi Guys (includes Gals too ) Just done a forum search with no useful results. My screen wash tank keeps losing 80% of its contents to the point where the warning message appears on the dash. Has anyone had experience of removing the tank At first glance - some of the pipework seems pretty rigid and Im not sure how Im going to get it off to inspect it. Is there anything I should be looking for Either

Greetings. My CLK55 has the slow drip from the backside(where the fluid supply tube enters) of the drivers side headlight washer pump. NOT the pump on the actual reservoir tank. Ive searched but cant seem to find a specific procedure on how to remove this pump for closer inspectionpotential replacement. Any suggestions Id prefer to get it fixed properly vs clamping offcutting off the hosesupply to it. Thanks

Hi New to the forum I have a C 200K Estate 2003 i found washer fluid leaking from the rear driver side. I used the filler in the engine compartment and next day was totaly empty. Is the reservoir in the engine comartment or is there some tank in the rear of the car. MERCEDES BENZ SLK R170 slk windscreen washer motor

Suggest you download the Chrysler Crossfire service manual. It has lots of diagrams which will be of use if your SLK is 2000 on up. Heres a pic I copied out of that manual. You can find a reference for downloading on this site. Search Crossfire manual. I have a 2004 230 SLK and my reservoir sits with the long side of reservoir in a plane with the car. There are a couple hoses which sit in channels

Just had a problem with headlight washer tube coming off. Removed front offside wheel arch shield (remember to apply release agent to studs etc) then washer fluid tank slides our cw TWO pumps (UK). One for windscreen and other for hl wash. Check all conncetions carefully as thet corrode. Also check tank rubber mounts as these crack and fall off causing a rattle. To get at hl hose conncetions - offside

MERCEDES BENZ 124 124 Washer fluid frozen - heater doesnt work

I am a little bit puzzled with what happaned to my W124. We have quite low temperatures here at the moment (down to -25C) and my windscreen washer fluid is frozen. That is normal - I havent changed it to winter fluid so while the car was stationary for 2 weeks outside the fluid had its right to freeze. However... I thought that when I drive 100km the fluid will be warmed up be the spiral heater and

MERCEDES BENZ SLK R170 windscreen washers

Just bought a 2001 230 auto (my first Merc) which was delivered todaygot two questions so far It was advertized as having a heated screen washer system Ive used the screen washers but the water appears to be cold.....am I missing somthing Next question when filling the screen wash containerI cannot fill it to the top of the filler neckwater pours out from under the car...is this normal Thanks Brian. (Think I will have more questions later)

there is two different things - leaking and burping. Mine leaked - after car stayed overnight in a garage all of windshield washer fluid will be on a floor. Dealer replaced the whole system. Burping is normal - if you fill the windshield washer tank with fluid up to the cap - some fluid will be spitted out - there is some overflow hole below the top of the filler neck.

MERCEDES BENZ 190 W201 Mercedes Benz 190E 2.5-16 Complete Restoration

Hi everybody Thought I would post the progress of my 2.5-16 complete restoration. I acquired the car back in 1992 when the car was about 3 years old. So it holds a lot of special memories for me. I remember at the time there was nothing quite like it on the road and I recall test driving an E30 M3 and liking the Merc better Sadly over the years not having enough time it fell into a pretty bad state

MERCEDES BENZ SLK R170 Help....

Here is the situation. The car has been the garage for a week. Yesterday I walked out into the garage and there was (and still is) water under the car. [O] The car is slowly dripping water on the right side just behind the front tire area about 6 inches in from the right side. There is a hole in the plastic() shield there. I tasted the water no taste and no color. The radiator expansion tank is full

Thanks guys. I believe I was able to fix it. It was the windscreen washer tank. I put pink RAINX in the tank and collected pink fluid in a pan I placed under the car. Thanks Bazzle for the tip of working front to back with the inner plastic guard. When I got to the washer tank it was a slow leak out the drain plug. I was able to remove the plug and wrap it with plumbers wrap a sticky plastic tape that will melt into itself. Replace the plug and this stopped the leak. Cheers [8D]

MERCEDES BENZ 124 124 passernger Headlight assembly

Ok I wrote about my lights magically going out. Now I notice on the passenger side very front water on the ground. It is drippling out of a rubber tube from the passenger headlight assembly underneath. Although I dont have a washing headlight unit. Any ideas Also the lower part of the Air intake filter box is connected to it so it seems. So where does the water come from Is this maybe the air conditioning condensing water Thanks.

I doubted that its aircon water. Ac drips in the middle where dors starts. It can be windscreen washer fluid or coolant. There are few hoses going through that area expansion tank washer fluid reservoir.

MERCEDES BENZ SLK R170 Coolant Temp Warning Light On Yet Temperature is Fine

I am working on a family members 2001 SLK230 and noticed the coolant temp warning light on the left gauge is illuminated at the top of the range. The car does not run hot at all and runs just slightly above the 80C mark sometimes until the car is in motion. I can confirm that its not overheating with a pyrometer but why wont this light turn off Is this a faulty coolant temp sensor causing this light or could it be something related to wiring

try filling up the windscreen washer fluid bottle and see if it goes away. they are on the same circuit... if not the sensor is located at the bottom of the coolant expansion tank. it is a simple reed switch which completes a circuit when the magnet on the float in the expansion tank comes close to it. the switch doesnt cost much and its easy to replace can do it without loosing any coolant. just loosen the expansion tank unplug sensor and then twist to get it out

MERCEDES BENZ SLK R170 Help with Dummy Lights - blown tire

Hello SLKers Im just shy of 107k miles and 11 years old but I still love Betsy A few rattles and a sluggish roof but otherwise shes aging well. I need some help with a Dummy light. Let me explain. I blew a rear tire last week and as some of you know Im not the most mechanically inclined person so it took me north of 90 minutes to figure out how to change the tire. I have swapped tires before last Christmas

pretty common issue... its unlikely to be the coolant level sensor as it is not submerged in fluid... the common cause is the windscreen wiper fluid level sensor which is actually in the washer tank. reason why it fails is the seal at the top of the sensor degrades over time letting water into the sensor. this causes the resistor inside and the reed switch to corrode and then eventually cause an open
