KIA CEED ED Central locking inconsitencies

Hi all. Owner of a 2010 Ecodynamic 1.6 diesel ceed since December 2013 about two months today actually. Couple of annoyances with it but without a doubt the biggest is the central locking via the remotefob (or whatever its called). I think it all comes from the central locking button inside the car andor if I keep a door open for a while (either with the engine running or not). The car then wont lock

If you bought it from a garage take it back and get them to sort it. If it was bought from a kia garage they will sort it under kia warranty providing the car has been serviced etc. Even if it has no kia warranty they still have to sort it under their own warranty. If you bought it privately you will need an auto electrician with experience of this fault otherwise its going to get very expensive diagnosing the issue.

Cheers. I got it from kia Rochdale kia Rochdale Contact kia Rochdale 0161 343 2216 Premier kia Manchester Ill get in touch with them.

Had the same with mine. It was the ignition key barrel. Some of the latches were sticking. Quick squirt of wd40 and work the key in and out a few times fixed it. No problem since.

KIA CEED ED Central door locking system

Is this normal condition Starting the car driving over 30-40 kmh all doors are locking. Coming to the end of the journey take out ignition key opening drivers door trying to take my bag from the back seat but I cannot open the rear door unless I press the knob on my dashboard or on my remote control. How is it on yours car

Techie I think that your wifes car central locking is doing correctly and that mine should be repaired... Anyone else

Mine open without any problem. I do notice however that if i stay beside the car with the keys in my hand the car will lock itself in a minute or so. Fine you might think thats security in action. But if i walk away from the car it wont lock itself. Now if you ask me thats all backwards is it not Shouldnt it lock itself when i am away from the car Not when i am beside it If theres a thief lying in wait isnt he more likely to wait till im gone

It locks automatically 30 seconds after unlock unless you opened any door. Are you sure it doesnt lock if you are not in proximity of the car Could it be that you opened then closed the door after unlocking In that case it should not lock again no matter how close you are to the car.

Ok tested it out and you are correct ukolaninjo it does lock after 30 seconds only if i have unlocked the car first. If i simply drive up remove the keys and get out it doesnt lock. My question is why kia have it that way. Surely having the car lock automatically when i walk away from it would make sense Anyway as i said before its not a problem just odd

KIA CEED ED Speed sensitive door locking door

Just bought a 2011 ceed 3 crdi & according to buying guides it should have speed sensitive auto door locking. My car does not seem to have this (or it does not work) But it does have a button in the centre dashboard that allows you to do it manually Can anybody advise as to whether my car should have this feature Thanks All Pete

and remember there is something on the back seat you cant get in so you have to stretch into the inside of the door and pull the handle twice or sit back in to reach that button. I asked at every service and finally at the third one they disabled it. Best thing that theyve done for me. Ive noticed around England that there arent many hoodys hanging round traffic lights to jump in and hijack a ceed.

KIA CEED ED Door Locking Unlocking Problem

Yesterday I had a strange situation where the doors would not lock. I got home and just could not lock the doors. After opening and closing each one the doors did lock so I put it down to perhaps a sticky mechanism or something. This morning I unlocked the car fine came to work got out and tried to lock the doors - nothing. Only the drivers door was unlocked and none of the doors would lock. I restarted

If I remember right you have to set the child locks or twist your key in the side of the door to lock them I would suggest also for locking the other doors that wont have it - try disconnecting the battery to disable the central locking and then lock each door on its own with the key. that should keep you secure Have a look through the manual for the exact advise for the back doors

KIA CEED ED More Switches

My wife remarked that our new Pro ceed was rather overburdened with tiny switches when compared to our previous model. She has been driving for more than fifty years and kept a clean licence so I tend to listen . Later I took a quick count and it tallied out as below. May have missed some just too much to look for. Driving Wheel. 14 (10 push and four toggle.) Heater Ventilator. 12 (including turn and

accustomed to the luxuries in modern cars and there is no way they want to go back. As for brake discs rusting its a simple fact of life they are made of cast iron which rusts. Back in the days of steel wheels and especially when we had plastic trims it was almost impossible to see the discs thus no-one took any notice. Now with alloys the discs are on display along with the surface rust. Our ceed

I was of the opinion they were not good enough On turning them I ended up looking like a candidate for a minstrel show. There was so much free graphite present I was reminded of cheap castings I worked on during my apprenticeship. A member of the forum informed me in 2008 a bad batch was supplied to kia.

For insurance purposes I need to know what sort of alarm is fitted to a standard ceed. I have a 2012 ceed 3 (not new model).
