a very quick ebay search pulled up this CONNECTS2 kia ceed ceed DOUBLE DIN STEREO FACIA KIT eBay or this is the entire search results obviously depends if the unit you want to fit is single or double din (height). kia ceed stereo facia eBay I believe the USB & aux inputs are a dedicated kia connection to the kia stereo and dont work with aftermarket units so youll need to fit a radio with USB & 3.5mm inputs to keep that functionality.
As long as the verbatim sticks USB 2.0 you should be fine mate. FTR Ive never had a stick not recognised before. Older sticks have stuttered during playback and been slow as heck to navigate but always worked. Lets just hope your new USB stick works fine. If no luck prolly worth scrawling ebay for a bargain 2DIN stereo with usb input and the wiring adapters so it just plugs straight in & works. Worth noting to any other readers Gadgy has just bought a kia ceed with 118k on the clock thus warranty repair is not an option.
Well how about this for the so called new type of ceed radio....... 1. Bought brand new ceed VR-7 15th June 2011 2. Rear speakers would not work on radio but did on CD and Aux input 3. Replacement radio ordered 1st July 2011 4. New radio fitted mid August after a six week wait for supply to dealer from kia 5. New radio faulty volume control on consul did not work although steering wheel volume control
and stuff but finally gave it up. I listen to radio mostly anyway unless Im doing a longer trip. In that case I consume CDs which produce disc errors from time to time but I kinda learned to live with it. A true solution is getting a new radio but the one that keeps the steering wheel controls and has a detachable front panel (theft protection) might cost quite a bit (not worth it..). I asked kia
talked to friends about an Old People Car. One manufactured with less gadgets and in exchange a bit more quality in its manufacture. For my Pro ceed I would do without the engine stop start and have a wiring harness of better quality that does not rattle when its cold. Also better quality plastic parts that stays flexible when chilled. They both sound like castanets in Scotlands cold winters. Do kia

engine sound changes abruptly to a smooth and much quieter sound normally at 1800rpm or so but not always. By the time the engine has run 10 miles or more it sounds quite quiet though this may be subjective. The engine has only 4000 miles on it so I suspect it isnt worn though there is clearly a manufacturing defect of some kind so perhaps wear is not entirely inaccurate. I do hope the dealer kia
I asked my dealer the same thing when I bought mine. He said that the stereo unit in our cars is different from the one in cars that do have AUX & USB & Ipod connectors. He also said that one of customers was really pushing them to get the upgrade but it was not possible without having to replace the whole system. However I tend not to believe the sales guy - I saw somewhere on this forum diagrams
I just spoke with some technical guy from kia Belgium and he said this was possible. However it would cost a LOT The little cover with the USB & AUX inputs cost only 25&8364 without VAT. But there needs to be a little box connected between radio and those inputs that costs as much as 900&8364 without VAT. That little box would just decode the mp3s from your USB and feed the USB and allows you to control
I have an iPod interface adapter for JVC unit which does exactly what this kia decoder does. It connects to the CD changer input. I payed 100 eur for it two years ago its damn cheap now. 100% BRAND NEW JVC CAR iPod ADAPTER KS-PD100 BEST PRICE - eBay (item 180326223638 end time Feb-11-09 114208 PST) I think the CD changer connector has 5 pins. Ill google what they are for.
You can always use one of these. I had it on my Scion Xa (basically a U.S version of the Yaris) and it worked great. You connect it to the antenna input of the factory stereo and then tune to a specific FM frequency (you still have FM function because it uses a piggyback antenna connector). The sound is still analog but it sounds great.Dont confuse this with one of those crappy sounding wireless FM
Thanks for all the input guys. Never had a problem with the DPF as the kia one regenerates at lower engine revs unlike the vauxhall one I had before which blocked solid. We have a full wrap livery on our vehicles including a perforated full rear window. Because I cant see anything out of the window when its either raining dirty or dark I have a tendency to reverse into things even with the sensors.
Swapped the headunit for a JVC - everything works (Apart from the original USB input...but thats ok because I have the new USB input which is tidily put away in the small storage closeable drawer directly under the head unit). It looks great as well. Ill post some pics when I get a chance. I needed an adapter for the radio antenna and the adapter I posted previously for the stalk controls. Great stuff.
Thats very strange Obviously youve fettled the fader & balance controls to check if any sounds coming out (ie very quiet) or if its totally silent back there Sounds like the head units faulty to me all speakers should work on all inputs. If a SW reset fixed it briefly there must be a hardware fault at play.
Thanks for all the replies. I hope (when it arrives) the new radio will fix the problem. As I previously said the rear speakers work fine on the CD and AUX inputs. If the new radio does not fix the problem I guess through apathy Ill just live with it as theres bugger all worth listening to on the radio in 6 speaker anyway

Deeps to be fair wouldnt the fact that you would pay kia to flash the software settings for the power steering to suit the new sizes cover everything your vehicle is then in a state that it would have been released from the factory. Most warranties are invalidated because the vehicle is in a state that it would never have left the factory. i.e. if you add an extra switch here or there or if you put

I have read that in order to properly connect an ipod or iphone to a kia you should get an adapter available from the dealer. It sounded like the adapter made it so that it connected both to the USB and the standard headphone type input at the same time. Interesting... not sure why but that should solve your problem

Mpg is figure on miles vs. amount of fuel. My dash fuel estimate is off by 3_4 mpg since update. As far as the shift indicationthe book even says for the sw 2011 that it is across all gears. It was immediately after the flash update in the end of september that I noticed all the issues. Now my concern with the rpm change is that it is coordinated by the comouter and even if I followed the old designation
I dont have the ceed system but on my Android phone I have CoPilot and the space is not required to be input. You just carry on typing without the space. Maybe the ceed is the same.
It is a good idea because the powerconsumption of a wifi camera is very low. I use a wifi camera on my caravan. It is powered via the sidelights of the caravan. The receiver is connected to the AUX input on my Kenwood head-unit and powered by a USB car charger. I can switch the monitor from the car-camera to the WiFi camera.

Yes I see the sidelight bulbs are rated at only 5watts. Well some Volvo cars have sidelights on all the time..
Thanks for the Fuel Log tip Ive been running a crappy app called fuel log since January but it couldnt tell me average or anything useful just logged my fuel input & mileage. Have now installed Fuel Log Car Management from Android Market manually transferred all my fuel logs across and am sad to report my average is far worse than I thought (over the last 10 fill ups anyway - will purchase the pro
Found this on the inerweb just to muddy the water even further HP vs BHP You are bound to have stumbled upon the term Horsepower whether you own a vehicle or not. HP is a measurement which is used during ads for cars and it&8217s also something that you will often hear being used by those who work in machine shops or even men who are car enthusiasts but what about the term Brake Horsepower or BHP The
I understand that it is illegal to have the car running while unattended that is why it does not have a key in the ignitiondoors are locked and alarm on and if someone tries to drive away it automatically shuts off. I cant see why there would be an issue with the insurance same companies are insuring cars with this feature in the US and the same law of unattended vehicle. It is not considered unsafe
Yes a powered sub or sub and Amp guide would be useful. I suppose you would be looking at a sub with speaker level inputs rather than line level as I assume the standard head unit does not have a line level output. Sent from my ZTE-BLADE using AutoGuide App

However the only difference would be an RCA Converter Ok people ill knock something up over the next couple of days
That is not a good idea. If all u want to spend is 110 quid then buy a 110 quid set of speakers for the front doors. Those will give you better bass than those so called subwoofers that you are considering. And as a bonus much better highs which will improve the overall sound quality by a lot. The factory speakers while not complete garbage if you have the separate tweeters in the mirror housing are
Mine acts just like you want. It starts with the input source last used. Maybe you have problems with the USB flash you are using. The radio automagically switches to any removable source (USB AUX or CD) as soon as new media is insertedplugged-in. Maybe your USB flash does disconnect-connect whenever you power on the radio.
Update I have now used a 2 Gb stick formatted it to FAT32 (didnt work as NTFS - Media Error) copied an album onto it and hey presto it works like yours damjanev. The stereo defaults to the last device. With the 16 Gb stick when I start the car it plays the radio for a second then re-reads the memory stick (reading displayed on the centre console) when no sound is played at all then once its read the

For future readers... the problem was the USB input was unplugged. This happened when they removed the dash to investigate the water leak. Thanks all.
