One of the things we look at is that we have a 96 percent dependence on conventional petroleum. The electrification of the automobile tends to take you away from that dependence we think thats a worthwhile strategy. Of course hes talking about the Chevy Volt . Even though honda

JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE I ZJ I cant really make sense of the thermostat temp argument

Their is nothing wrong with my Jeeps cooling system Im just curious as to what the pros and cons are of cooler thermostats. I bought my Jeep with a water pump that had literally shattered to pieces. So I got a new water pump new hoses and a new 180F thermostat because I dont like the idea of any engine reaching let alone exceeding 200F thats just insane to me and I see it as a buffer the cooling system

as above held an op temp of 195 or so (earlier coolant flow kept op temps down.) - Coolest 160 thermostat as experiment. Conditions and operation similar to that for 180 thermostat. - No thermostat My 88 is one of three vehicles Ive had that simply did not tolerate a thermostat in place. Would overheat within five minutes of running. (Other two vehicles were 1985 Cavalier V6-173 and 1980 honda

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS E II 210 Gas Mileage Update - 1997 E420

If anyone is looking at buying one of these gems and youre wondering about fuel economy I have a number for combined cityinterstate driving 19mpg This is with 90k miles on the clock. I would have to say that the ratio was 60% city - 40% interstate. Its getting cooler now in FL so the AC was on 50% of the test time and 50% on EC. When Im on the interstate I usually travel at a very non economical clip

weve put on about 20K miles. Im in the 19 overall range on my E420 as well. about 20% stop and go 40% in town freeway with wife driving to work rest on the interstate at 75 ish. Ive seldom seen under 17 (occasionally in the winter) typical highway is in the 24-26 range. previously we had a 95 accord v-6. overall the accord averaged just under 20mph highway was usually about 25-26. So given the honda

BMW SERIES 3 E90 E91 E92 E93 328 vs 335

I realize there is a substantial dif in performance between the 328 & 335. However have there been any reliability issues reported on the 335 with the turbos etc. Those of you who own the 328 & 335 your comments are appreciated

Most tests have the 230hp 6M 328i RWD 14mi 14.6-7s at 95mph. This is very close to the 330i very close(0-0.2s and 0-1 mph in the 14). the 300hp 335 14 mile tests at 13.3-13.8s at 104-106mph. the 280hp VW passat 3.6L tests at 14.2-14.5s 99-101mph the VW GTI tests the 14mi 14.7s 94-96mph (a dead heat with a 328i) the 267 hp 3.5L toyota camry 14mi tests at 14.4-14.6s 97-99mph the 271 hp 6M 3.5L honda
