FORD F150 excess front wheel bounce

Hi all I just bought a 2005 150 KR screw 4x4 with 26000 miles. First of all I love this truck in which I traded a 2003 supercab lariat flareside in on. I have looked at alot of posts on here about steering nimble and they almost all can be attributed to wheel balancing. I do see a minor steering wheel shake at 65-70 mph very minor and something I can live with. My problem is that when I hit more than

I am having this same problem. As I search through the forums for an answer I see so many issues related to nibble but I am reluctant to call this my problem. Almost at any speed above 25 If i hit a rough patch of road or even a transition from asphalt to concrete on the freeway I will get massive yet quick steering shacking. This is un-nerving at freeway speeds especially on curved over passes. I

FORD F150 Sway bar worth it

I was looking in the LMC Truck catalog and came across sway bars for the front and rear. My truck does not have one and I was thinking if they are worth it for a F150 4x4

FWIW I posted this at www.fordsix.com in response to a question about the effect of sway bars on an F150s handling Quote A vehicle with A-arm front suspensions starts off with a slight amount of negative camber (i.e. wheel pointing inwards at the top) strut suspensions start with a bit more. As you go into a corner and the outboard suspension compresses the negative camber of the outer wheel with respect

FORD F150 Changed my Plugs Today

Well I was worried with all the hype of the 916 plugs breaking off in the heads and having to be surgically removed etc... I bought the OTC socket and removal kit etc in prep. So I wanted to get the Motorcraft multi piece plugs out ASAP and a one piece in. I have 2.5 years and 38k miles on my 5.4L. All eight plugs came out with ease. I was pleasantly surprised. I chose NGK Iridium stock replacements.

it is smoother off road then on I think it handles pretty damn good on road I drive as fast as I need to road conditions dont dictate my speed. Balls out on any street and any condition is possible. People said it rides good for a truck I think it does. If you put 35 tires on a stock ford f150 and ride around you might be surprised. I think a stock f150 with stock suspension on 35 mud tires rides like

JEEP WRANGLER Steering Wobble high speed only

You folks have already answered a lot of my questions without me even having to ask but heres one I havent seen yet Driving down a parkway here outside of DC (the GW Parkway for any familiar with the area) there are a couple of overpasses crossing creeks and waterways or other sections of the pavement tangle. When I transition from the smooth asphalt of the road across the metal joiners my front wheels

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS M W163 Variable ratio steering

Just been reading something about EAM version coding and it said all vehicles except right hand drive are equiped with variable ratio steering. I have thought for years that i was driving a car fitted not with wheels but planks of wood strapped to the rottors like skis. Feels like wood with far too many turns. If you go from full lock to the opposit lock it is massive amount of turns and in tight spaces

FORD F150 Cooled seats....weird feeling

The weather has been nice here in FL so I tried out the cooled seats a few times. The idea of cooled seats is interesting but even on the lowest setting it feels not right. The best way I describe it is that it feels damp and cool not the best feeling for me. Anybody else feel the same way

Posted by HotLap I too felt that way (especially here in SoCal) until it was cold enoough to have light ice on my windows and the steering wheel heater combined with the heated seats was pure heaven (This is in my 5 series BMW). Seriously I dont use it very often but when I do its pretty sweet having a heated steering wheel It would be heavenly here in MA. BTW my Plat has been built is in transit

FORD F150 New SuperCrew Raptor

This thing is amazing. Click through all of the pages and watch the video. Quote We thought the longer wheelbase would degrade the off-road performance but thats not the case says Johnson of the SuperCrew Raptor. The SVT team specified a quicker steering ratio from the get-go but the real key to making the SuperCrew work off-road says Johnson has been to dial more low to mid-compression damping into

FORD F150 2H v. 4A v. 4H

Hi all First-time pick up truck owner here. My 2012 F-150 is 4wd and has 2H 4A 4H and 4L on the gear dial. I live in a pretty wet part of the country. Sometimes Ill drive in snow and I plan on using 4H for that. I understand 4H and 4L and 2H. I know that in 4H the truck is always putting power to both of the axles so at least one wheel in front and one in back have power all the time. I know that 2H

of needing more than the rear axle. If you live in town and drive in the winter 4A is likely the better mode so that the vehicle behaves very similar to 2WD mode but with improved traction. If you have noticed the 4WD mode in town it usually fights you when you turn sharp and the front wheels want to scruff all the time. I like it for going to the mountain in the winter so I can use it in the transition

FORD F150 A few things wrong with the f150

Hi everyone I have a 2001 4.6 supercrew and recently Ive had a few problems. The first problem Ive had since I got the truck but its getting worse now. When I turn my truck will kind of rumble and vibrate through the turn which doesnt feel good at all. At first it did this occasionally usually after long trips but now it does this about 50% of the time. Ive heard that my power steering pump might be

FORD F150 Horrible Vibration need suggestions

I took my truck out of town the other day and at highway speed (75) hit a pretty pretty solid bump. At this time truck started shaking so hard I felt like it would rattle my teeth out. It didnt really want to jump from side to side as long as I held the wheel straight but steering was very poor as one might imagine. The shaking continued until I was able to get the speed down to around 40-50 and then

side it generally remains in the direction it was going. It literally feels like the front end is bouncing up and down violently. Think about maybe what a series of closely spaced speed bumps would feel like if you hit them at about 100 MPH. Furthermore the problem continues well after the problem with the road surface is resolved. For example the road surface can be perfectly smooth but a bad transition
