To be honest ive found few steering wheels on ebay with navi buttons (3 extra buttons) From abarth. I kinda wanted to found steering wheel with only cd player buttons. Thank you for your replay ill just look for original stilo steering wheel then Also would like to know if steering wheel buttons work with aftermarket dc players Not planning to swap original stilo cd player but it would be nice to know.

More work than its worth IMO.

need one with the correct number of wires in the connector. Picture below has 12 wires for an 11 button steering wheel. You will also need the correct multiplexer in the steering wheel depending on how many buttons there are. . the clip before removing the connectors. Do not allow the center ring of the clockspring (the black part in the pictures) to turn while removing the steering wheel while its removed or when fitting the replacement wheel. . Have you looked at the steering column to rack securing bolt Can you use a stethoscope with an open tube on the end to get closer to where the sound is loudest __________________ 02 stilo 1.6 Dynamic 3 door 99 Bravo 1.2SX   Quote   31-07-2011   6 B0yCk Get Your Own Title   Join Date Jun 2011 Posts 129 Thanks 1 Trader Rating 0   Re ClickClick wheel sound - steering box or not stethoscope - i cant get one. or worn universal joint(s) perhaps Should be able to feel any movement in them while turning th steering wheel slightly with the engine off. Theres another one at the top end of the shaft hidden above the steering column shroud. . 2 empty blue sockets in the picture below. The white connector with red and black wires is for the horn. How much of the second hand wheel did you fit Did you change any of the parts form your steering wheel to the replacement one . the switch live to the permanent feed to trick the stereo just had to turn on and off manually. This adaptor is slightly different as it has a control box coming off the main loom so Im not entirely sure about doing the same thing. Switch live is in the same place but where Id expect the permanent to be it ran off to the control box. A bit confusing Attached Thumbnails   __________________ fiat
Tread very carefully - dont modify any wiring without being absolutely certain of what you are doing - its linked to the CAN bus My experience with my Chinese stereo was that the wiring loom feeds the CAN bus into a decoder box. That decoder box then generates the power (permanent and switched live) to turn the stereo on. I found this didnt work until I started the engine. So the ignition was on but there was no power released until the engine was started. Then the engine could be switched off stereo went off and when the key was turned back on (but engine NOT started) then there was power to the stereo. The reason for the link to the CAN bus is several - the decoder may provide a signal to dim the illumination when sidelights are on it may provide a reversing signal (mine tried to but got it hopelessly wrong) and it may provide signals from the steering wheel controls (mine was supposed to but cant - yours should of course.) So try starting your engine and also try doing a proxy alignment with fiatECUSCAN or MultiECUScan to enable the new node on the CAN bus. -Alex
Hi and welcome to the forum I dont believe someone has ever done that. We recently got a fiat bravo into the family and the only thing I can tell you is that the bravo is actually a stilo. If you look from underneath you cannot tell which is which. The have the same switches and knobs and sticks and share a lot of components so perhaps the steering wheels have the same mountings. Theres a guide to retro fitting a steering wheel with buttons here httpwww.fiatforum.comstilo-guide...l-buttons.html
ive had a look into the steering wheel compatability and i can safely say it will not work. heres the big clue if you check the steering wheel boss kits that allow you to fit aftermarket wheels you will see that mk22.5 puntos and stilos share the same kit that means their steering wheels will be interchangable. the mk1 punto bravo brava marea all share the same boss kit so thier wheels are interchangable.
andreist31 discovered the same problem. He posted a guide to retro fitting the 11 button steering wheel here httpwww.fiatforum.comstilo-guide...l-buttons.html

You also need to connect three extra wires can low can high and (regulated) power supply to the can node. easiest way is to find a piece of wiring loom from an Abarth and connect these wires from the replaced connector on the bottom of the clockspring. To prevent the KM display from blinking its best to put a little 4 sec. delay circuit in between the power line otherwise the can node will be noticed as a unknown node on the CAN network hence the blinking. See this link as a guide (its in German but it gives a good idea how it can be done) httpfk2000.stilo.infomufu.htm good luck HZN thanked for this post
well... its the whole sat nav system doesnt matter if your using the cd player multi changer radio nav ect ect it just switches off and back on again unexpectantly... i took the cd changer out to see if that made a difference only made it slighty better but still have the same intermittent problem. Nothing on the steering wheel works not even the flappy paddels. only the horn really ...
stilo steering wheel buttons are a NODE on the CAN so unfortunately its your option 3.
Youll need HID xenon headlights light washers and the auto leveling system from fiat unless your referring to a conversion kit which will contain none of these and will be illegal due to throwing light all over the place as they dont contain projector lenses. No idea about the steering wheel Ive never seen it
