FIAT MULTIPLA Rear suspension arm bolts

I am trying to replace one of the rear suspension arms for my MOT on my X reg Mutipla however I cannot remove the bolt that holds the arm to the chassis I have got the nut off quite easily but the bolt will not extract no matter how hard i hit it (was at it for 2hrs). Has anyone else had a similar problem and if so how did you get round it Im totally stumped. Please help

Soak the bolt head and other end in WD-40 or plus gas you might find that you have to wind it out using a spanner or ratchet I know on other fiat s you can usually just whack them out

Hi there best of luck with your multipla I wonder if your experience can help answer my question (posted 3 weeks ago) - rear suspension bushes Johnbob. I too have some rear bushes to change and wondered if it could be done in the way I suggested. So if you have a spare minute could you read my post and comment please It seems to have been read but no one has left a reply.

Does the multipla have the same rear trailing arm as the bravoamarea

Believe multipla is same running gear as Marea as it is a development of said car. When I recently bought a front drop link it was marked Marea.

Hi Johnbob Im seconding your question. Im contemplating doing the same with my 1.6 multipla. I found a rear suspension arm bush kit for about &16320 on shop4parts. But not sure if Ill be able to get the old bushes out in situ. Also read that its best to renew both sides at once as otherwise you will notice uneven cornering as one bush is new & tight and the other old & sloppy. I believe the Multi shares

FIAT MULTIPLA Rear suspension subframe

Hi Car due for MOT in early March about a week or ago so noticed car sitting lower on drivers side so thought Id better have a butchers. They say a picture is worth a thousand words so heres a few pics.(done in photoshop using panorama hence the middle looks a bit odd) NS coil spring failed mot 2 years ago due to NS rear coil spring incomplete) so that was changed by garage. FIAT MULTIPLA Rear Suspension Collapsing

Hi My nearside rear wheel has started to lean in at the top to the point where its now rubbing the inner arch on right-handers. Ive looked underneath and the main suspension pivot point seems to have a bit of grease around it as if its started to collapse and squeeze it out. I described this to a fiat dealer over the phone and they reckoned you have to replace the whole arm. Has anyone here experienced this and if so what did you do Thanks very much Nick PS Its a 2000 JTD 105 ELX with 97k

Not heard of a problem with the rear suspension most folks seem to have problems with the front springs....

FIAT MULTIPLA Rear Suspension problems

I seem to have creaking noises coming from the rear suspension. The noise itself is a creaking not all the time and on occasion as I come off a speed bump a clatter. I have checked the anti roll bar rear springs and sub frame mounts and cannot pinpoint it. It must be one of them any ideas welcome. P.S I have been towing in the last six months.

Poss upper subframe bushes.

I have noticed that when i checked the distance between the rear tyre and inner arch that the gaps are different (camber) could one of the rear swing arms be the problem.

FIAT MULTIPLA Rear Suspension Links

Hi all (again) I thought I was getting tyre squeal from my left rear for the last couple of weeks which Id put down to cheap tyres (had that before) but today I was walking up behind my Multi and noticed the rears werent at the same angle. The left was leaning inboard a lot more than the right. Looking closer I saw that the inner tyre wall has been rubbing on the inside of the wheel arch and that was

FIAT MULTIPLA Rear suspension - rubber stops holders

Hi - newbie here with a problem over Easter to sort. And plse excuse my inability to name the parts correctly but hopefully youll get what im on about. A Mk2 Mulitpla 54. When up on the ramp for tyres noticed the rear rubber stops (bungs) on both sides had fallen out & were sat in rear springs (at least i discovered the latest rattle). The cups (holders) at the top that hold them up have corroded away.

realstokebloke Hi DC yes i cant belive the part would be a part of the actual cross member itself either. As above i will try to find the ePER page as a url and post it to follow... Right. Think thats five posts so... This page shows the spring the rubber stop and the enigmatically titled Thrust ring. The rubber stops part 5 (both sides) have dropped down as whatever retained them is corroded. fiat

You wont need a ramp to have a look... Get under it from behind with a good torch and youll see straight away. Re bottoming out... Im really not sure if not having them would cause the suspension to operate out of its comfort zone...I doubt it..but I wouldnt mind someone elses opinion. Marty.

Heres an excerpt from the MoT testers manual Sec 2.4.a a. Inadequate clearance of the axle or suspension with the bump stop or chassis b. a suspension unit so weak that the body or other part of the vehicle fouls a road wheel or would do so if the vehicle was laden. Note a missing bump stop rubber is not a reason for rejection. It appears that a non-existent bump-stop would be ok - but one rattling

FIAT MULTIPLA Slight groan from rear suspension

rear suspension groans a bit when say coming out off a petrol station onto the road(off a path)...or when a front wheel goes over a ramp. All my rear bushings are like new...its always done this...even before i did subframe rebuild...its a really CROAKY kinda groan Anyone else bothered by this Would love to resolve this as ive a pretty smooth multi otherwise But not sure what it might be...it may even

Its not a mooing sound is it like a cow Just wondered because they have a habit of mooing from the filler cap area. Something to do with pressure from the fuel tank. Its ages since Ive discussed a mooing multipla and it would be great if someone has one again

Nope...its very definitely suspension related(or at least it groans when the suspension is called upon) I wonder if its roll bar related... Marty

Yeah Ive had all that stuff off.. Maybe handbrake cables...dont think so tho I have no tyre rub either.. Pretty good clearance there. Im thinking its rear rear door plastics a little loose.. Yes I have mudflaps on the back...have you had noisy ones Marty.

I was sitting in our multipla in the back garden one night to see if I could catch sight of the wild Boar that had been getting in and wrecking the lawn () Just as my imagination was starting to get the better of me ( a herd of slavering huge tusked beasts tearing panels off the car to get at me....) the Multi mooed. I nearly jumped out of my skin Ive subsequently heard it on several more occasions and it still gives me a bit of a turn

FIAT MULTIPLA Rear suspension arm noise
