FIAT MULTIPLA Rear middle seat

Hi all can anyone help with the rear seat removal.I can lift the seat but the mechanism will not release the hooks at the front of the chair.I have tried for hours plus alot of seating but it refuses to unclamp. The outside outside ones are easy.Dont know what to try next. thanks Paul

Is it tilted all the way forward Make sure that the front centre seat is as far forward as possible and the rear centre seat is slid as far back as possible before trying to remove it. Might help

Ive noticed on the newer multiplas the front middle seat is welded in position (I assume for safety reasons) and because it sits much further back than the other seats it makes removing (and replacing) the rear middle seat a lot harder. The process I use is fold down the front seat fold down the rear seat release the rear seat latches with the pull strap lift up the rear seat as far as it will go (the

From day 1 with this particular Multi Ive had to remove the headrest on the middle rear seat to get enough clearance to tilt the seat forward enough to release it. Might be worth trying.

FIAT MULTIPLA rear middle seat

I took the seats out to do some moving and can get the two side ones back in but I cant get the middle one back in. The front hooks wont pop in especially the left one. It seems like the plastic raiselower seat back lever gets in the way of letting the front left hook slip in to its barhook. Help my in-laws are coming into town from the US today and I need it in to pick them up with the family

The rear middle seat sits on an adjustable sliding frame if the chair isnt slid all the way back (or forward cant quite remember but think it is back) then it wont refit into the floor brackets. This had me scratching my head for a while when it first happened.

FIAT MULTIPLA Sliding front middle seat

Has anyone else with a new style multipla got a sliding front middle seat Mine has no adjustment bar and seems to have been welded to the rails by the factory. I assume this is due to some safety concern but its annoying because it stops the rear middle seat from being set in its most forward position.

FIAT MULTIPLA Rear seats

I heard that the rear seats will actually come out. I have checked my hand book but for some strange reason that part is in Italian. Can anyone tell me if it is possible and how to do it.

They do but Ive never managed to get the middle one out. Follow the cord under the set to the rear tug on it. It pulls a lever freeing the rear of the seat from the floor. Then tip the seat forward (good idea to remove head restraint 1st). You then have access to the locking bar (which is a sort of torsion bar affair) which you twist to free the front of the base from the floor. In true fiat fashion just watch one of the springs ping off. Hope this helps. Disgusted of Tunbridge Wells

Ive had all 3 rear seats out they are numbered (picture on the base) and need to go back in the order they came out. The centre seat needs its head restraint removing but the outer ones are fine Folding the middle front seat down helps too

I think that my middle one wont come out because theres some glass under the hinge. We were broken into.

I had much trouble removing the rear center seat the back middle seat on our 2003. The trick seems to be sliding the seat all the way back before using the strap release and then the bar release. Hope this helps someone.

FIAT MULTIPLA baby car-seat in front middle seat

Hello We recently bought a 2002 multipla and are wondering whether we can use the front middle seat for a baby car-seat. Does anybody know whether this is possible Is the front middle seat served by the driver or passenger airbag (or neither) Thanks Co & Kaa

We have had both a rear facing and a front facing child seat in the middle. As said previously you must switch off the passenger airbag. A light will appear on the dash to confirm that it is disabled.

FIAT MULTIPLA Dismounting the Front-Middle seat HOW TO

Hey Any one knows how to take out the front-middle seat in order to replace a cable Thanks Itamar

I think you should be able to replace the cable without taking it out anyway or do as ive done on the middle rear seat and take the plastic cover off and fit a set of molegrips onto the leaver its lazy but it works a treat.

FIAT MULTIPLA Fiat Multipla anti-roll bushes & rear radius arms complete kit

I have taken my 2001 1.9 diesel multipla to the same garage since I purchased it in May 2011. Since the end of September 2012 we have noticebly heard (more than usual) a knocking sound - which we always declared sounded like it was coming from the back end. Definately more noticeable with weight in the boot. The garage have replaced the track rod end (so had to have the wheels tracked as well). The

being twisted. So the resistance of the bar - its an anti-roll bar - to this twisting tries to keep the car level as it corners so you dont end up falling out of your seat. When the rubber bushes wear out they can no longer hold on to the middle of the roll bar allowing it to waggle around a bit and eventually hit some other metal bits under the car so you get a clanking. Thats at the front. The multipla

FIAT MULTIPLA Versatility of Multipla seat positions.

Hi all. In another thread we have been dicscussing our ideal multiplas additions we would have liked to have seen and that sort of thing. Well the issue of the Multi not being long enough to fit a double mattress in the back for short camping trips and overnight stays came up. It was suggested that someone had seen the Multi seating folded to a double bed Curious and with too much time on my hands

FIAT MULTIPLA car seat help

we are thinking of buying a multipla and wanted to know if there is still plenty of room in the back for two car seats and a 10 year old to sit comfortably in the middle of them

in the middle. Only concern people ever had about that was that you couldnt swap the seats around not sure why that was a problem though. I cant quite be 100% sure but I think the mk2 had 3 same sized seats but again they may have made the middle one slightly smaller to give the outer seats which are mainly used more room. So if the car you saw had a bench seat it wasnt a scenic. Never sat in a multipla

Which is a shame really. I have popped over the other Multi Forum but its a Yahoo groups thing and I hate those. I have browsed around though and I would hardly say it is avoid of general chit chat Maybe if they got some different message board softwareservice provider then I might go over more often. FIAT MULTIPLA Sliding centre seats....

Ive just bought an 05 Dynamique and am loving it so far. However I see that I cant slide the front centre seat forward at all. Its normally occupied by my 12 yr old daughter so it could come forward quite a bit thereby also improving legroom in the rear centre position or allowing all the rear seats to be mounted further forward. Is there any way of resolving this (e.g. buy the bits needed off a higher-spec model and retro fit them)

Just as a matter of interest Ive done the measurement from the rear of the middle front seat to the back seat as well. I folded the front seat back down on to its squab. Then pushing the seat forward from the back of the folded front seat back to the front on the seat behind it is about 9 inches. When it is slid back this reduces to about 6.5 inches. Does this help at all

I had a look at the runners. It would appear that both parts of the runner have actually been welded together Anyroadup the conclusion is that its simply not possible to use the middle rear seat if its brought forward into a different position. Shame. but there you go

Bugger frankly. Thought Id been clever there. Oh well. The only possible reason I can think of to slide the middle rear seat forward is to use it as a table when there are people sitting in the rear. It sort of makes sense but I would much prefer to have the rear middle seat unmoveable (apart from on it clipped floor mounts obviously) and the front center seat on a slider. I am an adult (I think). I want to decide where I have my front seats A shame that.

FIAT MULTIPLA Fitting back seats backwards

Was idly wondering last night as you do. When we were kids we used to go to a beach where you could drive. Great for dinghy and paraphernalia but not so good in terms of getting a car full of sand. The time has come for taking my own child on holiday and I had an idea - the seats in the multipla presumably will fit in facing the other way. This would mean you could sit in the car to clean your feet

Not illegal as long as the seatbelts on the outer two can work as lap-belts. In my 92 Espace I regularly fitted the middle seats backwards (as they were designed to be used if required) so you were facing the passengers in the rear seats. The kids loved it. Same with the swivelling mid-seats in my old Lucida.

FIAT MULTIPLA Car seat question

Hi All Do i need to turn the air bag off to put a forward facing carseat in the front Thanks in advance Hayley

I have a seat in the front middle and dont turn the airbags because there is no airbag for that seat but I think you only need to switch them off for rear facing seats.Someone one here will know for sure

FIAT MULTIPLA Multipla Wish List

Just for fun I was wondering what people would like their multiplas to have in an idea world. Not boring stuff like wishing it had reliability ( ) but something fun or genuinely useful. 1. 4x4 and ruggedised off road styling and useability. Id love one with a bit of X-Cross styling. Maybe a big 2.5L diesel engine also. 2. It would be dead handy if there was an attachment so when you folded the rear middle seat down it turned into a baby changing station.

listed on their website as being a past (or indeed current) model. Im never sure with these things where you sleep - is it in the pop up bit Or is that just for headroom Maybe a bit of overkill for me Id just like to be able to pull over and have a kip comfortably - if British Leyland was able to fit a double bed of sorts in a Maxi (wheelbase shorter than a Corsa) then it must be possible in a multipla.

FIAT MULTIPLA The excitement builds

6pm tomorrow night my new Dynamic Plus JTD Multi is getting delivered I shouldnt be quite so excited about it but I am - I love the smell of a new car and the buzz you get for the first few weeks trying things out As a quick question does anyone here know if the standard fit CD-stereo has an aux-input Id like to hook up an iPod direct rather than rely on an FM transmitter. Cant wait Matt

I just want to check that this isnt just me being dumb... All three of the back seats can be positioned in different slots so that they are about 10 cm further forwards (or backwards). In addition the middle seat can slide in the same way that the drivers seat can. Now both myself and my wife are about 5ft 8in so we have the drivers and passenger seat fairly well pulled forwards which means that we

Strange Our 54 reg (new shape) has a sliding front middle seat. It doesnt slide as far forward as the left and right front seats but the mechanism is the same. Maybe its a difference between the Dynamic and Eleganza Checked the multipla brochures (2004 & 2007) and theres no mention of it - only that the Eleganza has a sliding central rear seat Maybe the front and rear middle seats slide on the Eleganza only

FIAT MULTIPLA New owner - check out my service history please

New owner here and just saying hello. I think I have paid top money for a 0303 fiat multipla 115 ELX JTD with 110k. [quotelenivec1317186] hello can someone help me i am buying a multipla and want to know some mesurements. is it possible to put surfboard in it. lenght 270cm or what is the max lenght from dash to boot doors.[ quote] Assuming the front middle seat is taken out or replaced with a fridge the maximum length possible with the rear centre seat folded flat is 220cm. You might squeeze another few centimeters

[quotelenivec1322575] yeah 280cm 10cm over another question are both co-drivers seats flat-foldable or just middle one[ quote] On mine neither fold fully forward like the rear seats do but both fold back far enough for the headrest to touch the seat behind it. FIAT MULTIPLA why buy a multipla

hello thinking about buying a multipla anybody out there with advice what to look for. any does or donts are parts expensivewhat mpg are they worth buying.

Ive had my multipla jtd for over 2 years now I never get bored with like I have done with previous cars and Ive had plenty of prestige cars its very versitile and if you think the boot area is too small seats can be removed if you remove 1 seat it makes a good difference to what you can fit in the boot I drove to italy in september in mine and brought back 4 motorcycles (one on the rack) I took out

FIAT MULTIPLA Roof box or trailer

One of the compromises in getting the Multi was losing boot space compared to the Picasso that we had before. On the specs weve gone from 550l to about 440l of space and in September weve got a new baby on the way so boot space becomes more of a premium. So I reckon we need more luggage space and Im toying with the two ideas of a trailer vs roof boxes. Does anyone have any experience or advice of how

I too was going to get a roof box after having changed a Galaxy for my multipla. However having just completed our annual trip to the airport with six of us in the car plus six suitcases a buggy and several items of hand luggage in the boot I can say im pleasantly suprised at how cavernous the boot space is. With the outermost rear seats in the forward position I can still sit in them quite comfortably

FIAT MULTIPLA Why a Multipla

Hi all Ive not posted on the multipla section before but Im starting to warm to them at the moment Ive got a cinq sporting and an import toyota estima. I love both of them but Im starting to think that its time for the toyota to go. Im on a traders policy for the insurance but it has recently gone up due to the bus being an 8 seater and my insurance only covered me for 7. Plus im sick of being used

Genghis if youve got 3 kids and camping is your thing you might find the boot a little small. Centre Parcs are fine as you dont have to take your tent cooker and all the other kit associated with living in a field for a week. Ive got 3 kids and weve done camping I had a 350 litre roofbox and I took the middle rear seat out and I ended up weighing all the stuff as I was concerned about AUW. I toyed with the idea of a trailer but in the end went for a Citroen C4GP. Multis are great cars surprisingly agile and practical but they need a hands on approach and those hands need hyper-mobility and a familiarity with spanners Parts are not that expensive Citroen prices make fiat look like theyre giving em away

Ok FYI access to the fuel sender unit is under the rear seats directly between the middle and right hand seat if you intend removing the unit i would recommend that you buy a new seal first as its probably best to change this. To access the panel you need to remove all 3 rear seats unscrew the 4 load hooks that are bolted to the chassis remove the plastic trim that is under the rear 2 doors (3 screws

Hi Shaun all done and the tank back on just got to get it running to test it do you know the easiest way to the fuel pump without having to take up all the carpet is it located under the middle of the boot or under the back middle seat.... cheers NOTE Anybody removing the fuel tank from the rear of the car it is a nightmare to get the bolts back in best thing to do is to slacken the front bolts on

FIAT MULTIPLA Food box

Finally opened the user manual of my 03 jtd . Says something about an 18l food box Is this only on fancy models Mines an 115 elx. Cheers Marty.

It does replace the middle front seat which seems a bit of a waste one of the main attractions of the Multi is that it seats six. You do see these on Ebay from time to time but theyre getting scarce. Suspect that it wasnt widely taken up as an option if it replaced the middle rear seat it would have made more sense as you could have swapped seatfridge as required. martyc5674 liked this post

FIAT MULTIPLA Multipla

Thinking of buying a multipla but feel the boot is a bit small how do others fit buggies shopping baggage etc in. Any ideas. Also is it safe for children to sit in the front. All advice would be appreciated.

I think you misunderstood the last answer. Turning off the passenger airbag means you can put a rear facing child seat in the middle seat. Our youngest was there till she went into a bigger seat then she went in the back.
