Answers and questions: fiat idea parking sensor
Hey everyone Im only a few weeks into owning a fiat
500 Lounge i have the parking sensor
option and from the first week i got the car it started to act up. Occasionally the yellow light with an exclamation mark appears at first i didnt know what it was for and then i got the idea
that it was the parking sensor
. I tried backing up to see if i was right and i was. This problem happens every once in a week almost is there anything i can do to make my sensor
s back to normal
Hi all Anyone got a clue what the most likely cause of this is Theres no exterior damage I can see so I guess its loose wiring... I cant find any reference in the manual or here (did search honest) when the car does its check this message flashes on the info screen and you then get a daft yellow icon with a P and what looks like a spring permanently lit up... going to speak to the local dealership tomorrow but if anyone has any idea
s let me know... cheers Jut (missing me megane )
My car says that i have a parking sensor failure when i start my car and every time i put it into reverse it just constently beeps any ideas also my temp reader seems to be about 8 degrees out any ideas on that too sedge
the back bumper and behold in the past this car must have reversed into somthing pushing the bottem of the bumper up and wedging the cable in between the bumper and other trim which has severed one of the wires tried to fix with a standard wire connector but still not clearing the problem might be another wire damaged but i was wondering if the parking sensor needed to be reset or somthing any ideas
yes you can replace that cable (no idea what it costs though.. give your local fiat dealer a call.. id be guessing it is cheaper then the sensor loom though.. that&8217s about 65 squid.. perhaps youll do better to find a second hand part though and i think thats a bumper off job too). sensors do not need to be reset.. the moment you fix the problem the system starts working (the triangle goes after
Now then... in picking my second hand 58 plate bravo 1.9D multijet sport up next week and Im struggling to find out the original factory spec... should it have parking sensor
s If not Im guessing the standard loom has plugs for the genuine optional extra sensor
s... if so any idea
s on the cost for the dealer fit Any help much appreciated Danny

Gents Might be a stupid question Where on earth (in my car) can I find the parking sensor
module The previous owner installed one but it is not functioning right or not at al actualy the screen turns on when shifting to the reverse gear and it beeps once but when something is behind my car its not measuring anything. So I want to find the fcking thing..... Anyone got an idea
(What could be a logical position) Hope to see an answer soon Grtz rick Never mind guys found it thread closed

First off all gretings to all Ill try to be precise and short my problem started when i changed battery my rear sensor
s stopped working properly. From that moment there is just one constant beep when I change gear to reverse before that there was discontinuous beeps depending on how far i was from obstacle (barrier). I have no idea
what to to do and that sound is becoming annoying and i cannot rely
I know that its only a wee car but having had them on my last car and seeing as how they came as standard on my 500c Im used to using them. However its not a very loud beep compared with my last car does anyone know if there is a way of adjusting the volume on them

You will see that it starts to beep whilst still quite far away and when the sound goes solid that will give you an idea of the distance you can still travel before hitting anything.
Ever park three feet from the curb because you are afraid you would run into it Well I do it all the time and it annoys me Being an old Audi owner I kinda like the DRL LED lights.... but..... cant hack into the 12 volt system on a 2.5 without lightning striking you and the warranty going up in smoke.... Soooooo...... What to do During my online Christmas shopping I just ordered some silly stuff and
Yea it would be nice to tie into the 12v AUX socket in the center console. I could power the entire thing there and eliminate one switch since that socket goes dead a few minutes after turning car off. That would be great for DRL lights. Still need an on-off for the proximity sensor since they are designed to splice into the rear backup lights...... No backup lights on front of car. I definitely appreciate your parking technique and use it also when around a herd of parked ICERs
I am always worried that an SUV will back into it when parking due to the low profile..

Its a 2005 coach built MH by CI. The floor is wood as you say but the chassis is obviously steel with an extension on the rear of the chassis to support the 21ft body of the MH. Ive tried to find an electric connection between the cab earth and the chassis earth but there doesnt seem to be one which I find very strange when I look under the MH. Ill try again tomorrow and see what unfolds thanks for bouncing ideas around..

Had this thought but the technical details are beyond my skill level. I know we have had a bunch of threads about changing the turn signal bulbs to swithcback LEDs so they are white normally but flash amber when the turn signal comes on. My thought was is it possible to use a bulb that flashes amber when the turn signal is on and no light output when the turn signal is off In other words instead of
Finally got around to trying this mod yesterday. The short answer is... it works. I just used electrical tape for now to test the idea. However I cant get one of the bulbs to work correctly. I purchased these bulbs so the headlight housing would be clear when the lights were off but still light up amber with the turn signal. I got the passenger side to work perfectly (no parking light but functional

Any body have any idea how difficult it would be fitting one of these kits to a Bravo Is taking the rear bumper off a big lengthy job Also Andy - how loud is the parking Dynamics kit A friend has got a Bravo with the standard parking sensors and you can hardly hear it if the radios on at normal volume.
Yeah yeah yeah I know it already exists for the New Dodges (I think) but I thought about doing this awhile back and just recently found a sweet deal on ebay . So what If i got the backup sensor

Ya my main concern is that it may not work properly. Not sure about now but the original parking assist and blind spotfollowing distance sensors back in that 90s used Rashid radar which of course is impervious to moving air and has a pretty good range. Ultrasonic ranging can be pretty iffy when you dont have a flat reflector... I got more than a few out of focus photos from my old Polaroid that used an ultrasonic range finder when shooting a smaller item that was much closer than the background. But it would certainly be an interesting experiment to set up a temporary mount on the corner of the bumper. Id definitely be interested in the results. Connecting it to the turn signal is an awesome idea.

Afternoon everyone Am hoping someone may be able to assist with this Basically our car has given off a high-pitched piercing alarm sound on three separate occasions now. The first two happened about 3 weeks ago and lasted for about 5 seconds when it was dark and most of the electrics were on. It happened again today and lasted for approx 15 secs but none of the electrics were on at all. The best way
My Stilo makes really annoying beeps when reversing due to faulty sensor
s. I fixed it once by cleaning them up and they worked for a week but they are now faulty again. Im wondering if I can disable the system completely so that it dont make this high never ending beeps. I dont want it to complain in MAR either full deactivation wanted Thanks.

came about in the front camera threads but I wanted to break it out for a separate discussion. Now that we have wifi with software 5.0 we should be able to access locally-hosted web pages (can anyone confirm this). Ive got an idea
to build a small pcb with some general purpose control lines that will host a Hardware Controls webpage which you interact with via the touch-screen web browser.

Presently own a software limited 60kW battery. Car is 3 months old and driven about 5K miles so far. Thinking about swapping it for a loaner car which has 60kW or 80kW. Number one reason for the current thought is range limit and lack of twin charger. Your opinion please. Not interested in spending another 11K to enable the software limit alone. Willing to spend reasonable amount to have bigger battery and Twin charger.

it should stop doing this now sometimes its doesnt that means something is knocking it out as t4 says power and earthing isues starter motors or alternators are the most common cause on older vehicles but no entirely impossible on newer ones or anything connected to the network most commonly the convergence systems as fitted to puntos 500 pandas hence why the problem althou it can happen on any fiat
