Or the wiper arm isnt securely bolted on. If its the linkage then the Wipex kit on ebay does the job and is much cheaper than a whole linkage and motor set from fiat

I repaired mine using little ball joints purchased from an engineering firm. They screw onto a stud or bolt like a track rod end. I had to cut off the old socket section from the pressed steel arm and weld a bolt in its place then screw the new balljoint plus a locknut onto the bolt. The old ball section can be knocked out using a punch and the new joint attached with a bolt and nuts. I did post a message about this at the time with photos.
I found the thread about the linkage repair. At the time I had made a cockup due to getting the different arms mixed up but I did the job again and its still going strong. One of the problems on mine was always that the sweep was too great ie the wipers try to go off the edge of the screen at both extremities of movement. I think this introduces extra inertia at the start of each sweep. I also have endless electrical problems with the wipers. sometimes they even come on when switched off httpwww.fiatforum.comdoblo63430...mechanism.html
IVe had both linkages break on my doblo. What i did was made a small strip from 2mm thick sheet aluminium and bent it to make a bracket that i screwed onto the horizontal linkage coming up and over the vertical linkage arm to stop the ball joint seperating. done 80000 miles since and no further problems
robbed from the donor assembly worked OK until a few weeks ago. This time it was the drivers wiper that kept coming adrift. Obviously this is more serious that losing the passenger wiper. Also when its the drivers one it shoots past the dge of the screen and wraps round the edge of the door scratching the paintwork into the bargain I had to drive to Dumbarton last Sunday to pick up a motorbike (doblo
Hey Fido Ive been told by a valeter friend in a local fiat dealer the genuine fiat fix for the faulty passenger wiper mechanism is to simply drill through and fit a split pin. Be careful the arm is tempered steel and if you break the bit youre screwed and you need a complete mechanism...sweet eh
Erm... Why not just unbolt the wiper arms and rotate them to your preferred park position Or am I missing something here I know my Dobbie from new parked the arms on the visible portion of the windscreen - I removed the caps on the arms removed the nuts after a bit of persuasion they lifted off and I moved them around a notch or two on the shafts. Jon.

Only way is to align the mech is as described in the first post of this thread however found its easier
Thanks for that. 2 years ago the passenger side wiper stopped altogether and I returned it to the dealer where I bought her. The problem was rectified by a new wiper assembly motor being installed. I since found out the official fix from fiat Ireland is to drill out the passenger arm and fit a split pin when the polyurethane bush wears out. If you break the drill bit a complete new assembly must be
cause is the wiper linkage rod on the passenger side has come offcheck if you can gently move the wiper on the passenger side and if it moves independently of the drivers side. If so remove the black plastic cap on the wiper arm and check the securing nut is secure 13mm. If it is then its the rods adrift can be refitted but will come off again because the ball and socket on pivot are worn. fiat
have you tried tightening the arms might have slipped on splines undo cap on arm tighten nut
Hi I had a look at the wipers and the nuts are very tight on the splines the wobble seems to be further down inside the car - I imagine where the linkage arms connect.

I think I will give halfords a try then. fiat told me I had to replace the whole blade and metal arm which is why it was so expensive. Seems a bit extreme to me. Thanks Matt
Just been to my local car shop (very good shop) and they had a Champion refill for the doblo and various generic ones and not one of them would fit. The problem is with the Blade that is in it thickens out at one end and a hole each side for the pins that are in the arm to gold it in place. All the refills would slot in but there was nothing to stop it sliding out of place. Theyre calling me on Monday to see if Champion have any other ones but will try Halfords later. Thanks for your help.
You can buy linkage arms from wipex cost about 20 pound they just push on

Always a bit tricky sound like youve done it ok basically if you cant slide them down off the arm again once they have clicked then theyre on and secure. gdrumfoot thanked for this post
I fitted a set of wipers to my last car a mitsubishi L200 was in a hurry one night driving on the motorway in really heavy rain when the drivers side wiper flew off ended up having to put the passenger one on the driver side and then bend the passenger arm up so it didnt scrap the windscreen to get home.
Just had both arms replaced on Mrs_Gs Cargo at approx 340000 miles. There was some movement in one of the ball joints so it seemed sensible to replace both sides as they are both original units. The garage were supplied with the wrong versions to start with but luckily they noticed and ordered the heavy duty ones for the cargo. wiper Mech Mrs_G is on her third mechanism. I put it down to poor materials - my van has a very similar mechanism and is still original at 370000 miles.
Make sure they tip over pushing the blade will cause it to judder & squeak sometimes you have to put a slight twist in the arm
Has it broken the arm off or has it just stopped working
It broke the arm but managed to fix it thanks for taking the time to answer
wiper stopped working. I stripped the front cover to have a look and saw the polyurethene bush had vaporised and the wiper arm had simply collapsed. Of course my van was the first doblo to have this problem but when quizzed I was told the Punto suffers from this problem too. Imagine that and the doblo and Punto share parts including the wipers Apparantly only the passenger one gives trouble. The fiat
I had the same problem a while back. When I bought my car it only had one wiper arm I bought httpcgi.ebay.iePUSH-ROD-SET-BLADES-fiat-doblo-wiper-MOTOR-LINKAGE_W0QQitemZ200387425717QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK _CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SMhashitem2ea80575b 5 and I must admit I highly recommend them. Exceeded my expectations. The arms just snap on. I cleaned the links up with wire brush attachment for the

Hi I had a Mk1 doblo 1.9JTD for ten years and changed to a Mk3 in February. My old car was giving trouble and I could no longer rely on it. The new one is quieter much better riding handles far better and has an improved seat position and I have now got used to it. It took a while. The instruments are hard to see in some lights and I dont necessarily mean when it is dark the drivers seat doesnt have
not sure about the radiocassette problem but regarding the rear wiper you will have to replace the whole arm and blade as they only come as one unit and is a fiat part only should be 31.00 inc v.a.t but you could try connecting a a blade from another car onto the arm its a stupid design made to extract more money from you Im sure the other way would be to take the whole unit off altogether in that way you will never need to replace it. best of luck anyway
As a young lad Id sometimes go fishing with my mate & his dad. Wed all go in his dads builders van. Unfortunately the van only had one seat. My mate sat up front (on an upturned beer crate) with his dad whilst I had the luxury bag of sand cement plaster in the back. fond memories. I remember one return journey when the wipers packed in we repaired the fuse with the requisite piece of silver out
