UPDATE to this whole thing. Initially the Carsoft SRS Code was 24 Linker Sattellit (Sidebag sensor) Druck-Fuhler Beifahrer airbag 16 Gurt Schalter Fahrer airbag 1. What happened was I took off the passenger seat so I can replace the switch on the power buttons while the seat was out of the car I started the engine (I know I should not have started it) and now I have the airbag light on. Did my research and it only needs to be reset. Any member here who has the scanner to reset it that maybe

BMW SERIES 5 E39 Bought 540i on tuesday joined bimmerfest today.

One week after I decided I need to buy a car I decided I needed an e39. One week after this I bought a 2003 540i in dark gray. It has the black interior M sport 6pd stick and cold weather pack. It was on sale for 12000 with 145000 miles. I test drove it thought 145000 miles and no service records would be too much and maybe i should find a 530i. Long story short I ended up buying it for 9000 after

Hello and new to this forum. After reading alot of these posts my son and i found alot of info about some of the items that have been wrong with car. Since we are DIYers we are looking for some more help. The issue we are having problems with are there are alot of codes present when scanner reads. some of these codes are po 731a - gear 1 incorrect ratio po500 - speed sensor po133 o2 sensor bank 1

He was told that the computers may have to be reflashed and this would cure what ails this car. After doing some research with mechanics they all said that it is a good possibility thats all that would have to be done but no guarantees. Well since taking it to bmw

Hello all new member here. I am currently looking at a CPO 2009 bmw 328i Xdrive with 9574 miles. The dealer is asking for 28485. BMW SERIES 3 E90 E91 E92 E93 Why does 328 coupe cost more

Im looking into the 2008 328xi but Im not sure between Coupe vs Sedan. The base price of the coupe is 3k more than the sedan---why I looked at both specs (engine suspension safety warranty etc.) and they are nearly identical except for some differences in the dimensions and wheel sizes. The dealer I spoke with said something about the standard options are different (e.g. coupe comes with better headlights) but the website doesnt show this and I believe the site more than a dealer...

normalize the coupe and sedan prices the coupe comes out about 1K higher than the sedan -- after you add the fold-down rear seats Xenons and sport suspension to the sedans base price. (I am not 100% sure but I dont think headlight washers or rain sensor are std on the coupe -- they are in the cold weather and premium packages respectively). They are. I have a 328xi coupe. BMW SERIES 5 E39 1st Time BMW Owner (Used E39)

Whats going on Bimmerfest World I am officially a proud (new) owner of a (used) bmw as of Monday April 23 2012 . Its completely stock with a good amount of miles under the hood. However I think I got a good enough price on it for me to be able to make the purchase. people said they never really got to get a diagnostic done on it however it could possibly be just an airbag sensor. Honestly i have no idea what it is but my dilemma is - I do not want to purchase a new airbag sensor if I dont know thats what I need and find out it was just a waste of money after taking out the old one and installing the new one. - I do not want to waste 150-200 at the bmw

BMW SERIES 3 E90 E91 E92 E93 love tap

Yesterday on my way home from work I was on the freeway and got rear-ended. Actually the car behind me got rear-ended and it pushed her car into mine. I got a pretty good hit but no major damage. There are a few gouges on the rear bumper and you can see that the plastic has dimpled slightly. The reason I am commenting is that my car started the emergency blinkers immediately and I also got a message

to be replaced. If your head restraint doesnt look any different it was probably the pretensioner. Its not tied to airbag deployment. The emergency systems trigger based on the measured severity of the collision. So it may turn on the hazards and unlock the doors but not trigger the battery disconnect or any airbags. However an airbag deployment will usually trigger everything else including the bmw

BMW SERIES 5 E60 E61 2006 530XI is the worst car

Dont get me wrong. I love driving the car. we bought it this past July and it has the balance of the CPO (which express in January). BUT since we bought it it has been in the shop every month (or seems like it). 1- replaced the battery because it left me stranded (with my kids) and had to jump it via AAA 2- alignment and 2 new tires (granted that could have happened regardless) 3- the main cable to

that with any other car nor know anyone that has ever even heard of something like that happening. I DO enjoy driving the car when I can (my wife usually drives it as our daily car). I drive a soulless Honda element because Im a photographer and have to frequently lighting and computer equipment so Im not dumb enough to buy an expensive car that will get beat up that way. Thats why we bought the bmw

I am looking at purchasing a 2002 320i. Here are the items that I have discovered that look to be issues that I will need to deal with if I buy it 1) The battery light is on - I took my battery with me when I went to look at it because the one in the car is dead. I put mine in and the car started right up. However when I put a multimeter on the battery with the car running it was only putting out 11.8

I dont know about cars sold for the Belgium market but in the US some (not all) cars had self-leveling suspension. This was made possible through the use of airbags. This is important not only for ride and handling but also to keep the headlights from shining into the eyes of drivers of oncoming cars. Some cars were fitted with two-axle air suspension while others had only single (rear) axle air suspension.

BMW SERIES 5 E39 Air Bag light just came on

I have a 99 528 IT. The air bag light just came on. Any thoughts of where to start looking for the problem thanks Mark

The sensor mat is expensive and a PITA to replace and there is no warranty it wont be damaged again. All you need is to kneel on the pass seat and it can be damaged again. And yes I think pass occupany mat sensor was designed for 2 reasons 1. To prevent the airbag from activating ( to save cost of repair) if no passenger is present but it is a mood point bc any accident that deploys the drivers front

BMW SERIES 3 E46 1999 323 I 4Dr Air Bag Light Stays On

My car is a 99 323 I 4dr and it has the air bag light on. I had a friend pull up the codes and it showed to have an 01 and 03 code present. He could not clear the codes for some reason. He has a Snap On diagnostic box with the European software so it should have cleared it out. The codes listed apparently are for no power and also an internal air bag module malfunction. Does anyone have any more info

BMW SERIES 3 E36 Problem with door locks...fuseactuator or what

Ok Ive had my 328i for only about three weeks now but I havent been able to lock my doors automatically since I thought it was just a fuse but I check under the hood for a blown one and didnt find any the lock button in my car does not work. everything else works fine (drive & pass seat sunroof and windows). I have to unlock and lock everything manually (which sucks). I just recieved my keyless entry

In my case the problem was Loss of ground when hooked to the diagnostic computer. Thats the shop toy not the code reader. Not a DIY in my case. I have old man winter to blame and I suspect a failed vapour barrier in the back door. There is also a drain in the rocker panel (Did not know that) that was plugged. Resulting in a pool of salt water under the carpet. And the ground is located under the carpet

BMW X3 E83 Service History

This post turned into a rant so just bear with me... The passenger airbag sensor is acting up so I went to our local dealer to ask if the recall had already been done on our X3 (we bought it used). I drove my other car and brought a sticky note with the VIN on it. The guy asks the see the car key to verify it was my car so I get the spare get out of my car and show it to him (not sure how looking at

that he didnt believe it was my car. He said they have a lot of people come in looking for service histories of cars that they dont own (but may be interested in buying for example). But most of all his vagueness and dodging my questions about the service history and the recall make me feel like I wasnt welcome there at all - maybe because I wasnt wearing a suit and driving a new 7-series I call bmwNA

Most of these terms include those that are VAGs own internal names andor wording jargon that comes from popular sites like ClubB5 (CB5) and Passat World etc. as well as general car terms that we use for cars other than those made by VAG.
