My dealer advised that they are only available for the Q7. And the amount was kinda absurd in any case. My kids use a portalble dvd player that they hold on their laps which works of the cigarette lighter. PSP for games.
I seem to remember the DVD TV headrests were about 995 roof mounted or in the headrest for my VW Treg so guess they would be about the same from audi. I agree the bolt on to the back of the seat look real tacky
ipad as in the recent apple creation Yes. I think its released in the UK in April. Plays movies games music internet surfing etc. I personally wont be buying one but for entertaining the kids in the back it might be worth looking at. Although not sure how child proof they will be You might want to invest in a decent case skin if giving it to the kids. The other thing with spending 1000 via the audi
Hi SMO Heres one possible solution to the integrated monitor problem httpforums.audiwo...d.phpt2774653
JandL on 06 April 2011 - 0302 PM said What&39s that all about. yeah safety but pushing your head forward is crazy. This is the one complaint my wife has of her new Q5.. Not a bother as much for me but I have a tendency to put my seat back up &39straighter&39 than her so maybe that&39s it she was looking how to change the orientation last night....
I can&39t say I&39ve noticed. Most comfortable sports style seats I&39ve had for years in fact In my last car the RRS it was really bad.
The Q5 is my wife&39s car and she DOES complain about it messing up her hair My conclusion as well was that it was that she leans her seat back much more than me.... but it is on her list of questions to the dealer

Cant speak from experience but when this has come up before the VAST majority of people recommend buying an iPad and the headrest mount for it. Cheaper and more versatile. Sent from AutoGuide.com Free App

Cheaper and more versatile. Sent from AutoGuide.com Free App I thought as much ive seen rigid mounts that attach to the back of your headrest and they had an attachment for an ipad or dvd player. The nextbase click and go stanchion looks great. httpwww.nextbase....-Series%29.html Thanks.
As Tricky says the Nextbase system is very good. Ive (or should I say the kids) have used 2 DVD players on quality headrest mounts for almost 5 years without issue - they can operate either independently (2 films 2 monitors) or can be linked (1 film 2 monitors) through use of a simple lead - supplied. Price-wise I think it came in at about &163600 all told - includes wireless headsets chargers 12v supply leads and auxiliary batteries for out-of-vehicle use. Considerably cheaper than the audi version and little different.
Ive had the audi system fitted in my Q7 950 a couple of years ago so I imagine its the same system as the one being offered for the Q5. Its not something I would have specced by choice but it was a showroom car and not negotiable. I did use it a bit however decent quality sound and pics plays dvd and cds both screens (and entire fixing unit) are detachable with chargeable batteries which can be charged
Hi some upgrades are possible Bluetooth - even though you have a Bluetooth menu and a phone button on the screen it is not easy to add Bluetooth. Expect to pay 400 ish from a third party to fit the module. Cruise Control - this is easier look on eBay its about 350 fully fitted. AMI - again possible but probably 450 from a third party. Double the above costs if you go to audi. As for DVD and headrest
I have just had installed 2x Xtrons DVD screens by my local car radio firm in Blackburn. They were half the price of what audi are charging and very good. The screens are already installed into headrests which replace the audi one&39s and are a very good match - here is a link to a similar system. httpcardvdplayerd...oduct--147.html The kids love them - they are very good&33
Rahoo on 26 November 2010 - 0116 PM said thats a seriously good price may have to ask father christmas &33 Here is a picture as promised. It shows one head rest zipped up and the other unzipped. As you will also see the headrests with the 7 screens are proportional to the seats and the previous restraints. Attached File(s)   TODAY 052.JPG (1.02MB) Number of downloads 166
Chopper on 30 January 2012 - 0349 PM said Best prices Ive found so far are &163800 for the mirrors and &1631400 for the TV tuner Wow... Makes me glad I amended the order to include the mirrors. Still wishing I had opted for the rear headrest screens
I had a similar issue with my 2 Huskies they are now trained not to jump out but before this I made a clip to go around the headrestdog guard Id then clip their lead onto this so that they couldnt bolt when I opened the door.
ray.afzal on 06 September 2013 - 0803 PM said Snowman get some pictures up if you can first impressions&33 these are all i have Child seats are cool - they have a lead that connects into the screens and the sound then comes of out speakers in the headrests That way we can have what we want on and they can watch a film each&33 bliss...

and moved the climate control module down lower I assume if I go the aftermarket route I loose the information screen (car menu etc.) or is there a way around this Thanks in advance Rim Hi Rim The answer to your question is YES and you do not lose any functionality. I have researched this extensively and have found a chinese factory that makes them for the local market. (The local market for audis
just returned from the test driving the 2011 overall disappointing. currently driving a 2005 3.0L X3. US Army in Germany. Been waiting for US spec X3 diesel X3 to make it to market but guess thats not in the cards so thought id take the opportunity to ck out the Euro spec BMW 2.0 diesel in the X3 (wautomatic). impressions of the interior - drivers instrument panel looks very cheap - this was an improvement flat no depth - looks like it came from the 60s. definitley minimalist if that the look they were going for. - startstop button - OK so i dont need to insertextract key to startturn off engine - gimmick. - auto startstop function (option) (come to stop wfoot on brake pedal and engine shuts off immediately take foot off the brake and engine starts immediately) PITA when i drove it but it was so extreme in that there was no lag time between vehicle coming to stop and engine turning off. they must be able to adjust lag time or its a joke. parking will be fun with that setup - wind noise from drivers side window when fully up. - iDrive - first time using it and i dont like it at all. constantly have to take eyes off the road to see what youre doing. i realize that after awhile youll have the experience of knowing what does what but why should one have to put themselfves and other in danger while learning why BMW didnt dump that after year 1 is beyond me. - interior room - our test drive happened to have sport seats - fuggetaboutit. rear seats - you feel like youre sitting higher due to the lower roof line (i think they lowered roof line by an inch or so right) but you do notice it. headrests are smaller. you simply feel like its smaller in width and theres no way youll get 3 adults in the back seat. - trunk - seems a little longer() but not as high (due to lower roof line) in any case noticeable. Engine - clatters a bit. decent torque in the sweet spot but with 4 people and luggage need the 3.0L. Handling and supension - much more nimble car feels much lighter - like youre driving a smaller car. for the money id think you could do better. will be looking at the audi Q5 and MB GLK.
