BMW SERIES 3 E90 E91 E92 E93 330xi vs Volvo S60R

Wich is the better car for the money

Wow youre about as wrong as one human being can be (no offense as were all wrong from time to time including me of course.) volvos current family of inline engines has SQUAT to do with Audis older design (volvo did indeed license Audis I5 diesel two generations ago - volvos current D5 diesel is their own and far removedimproved from the old Audi lump.) volvos current inline engines debuted in I6 form

as a modular 5-6 I bet you a case of Swedens finest they based it on the old Audi 5. Im not saying its the same but the roots are there. I mean how can one possibly know what went on behind those closed doors unless that someone was directly involved in the process But I have an idea about an additional check we could do... Would you happen to know the exact engine capacity of that original volvo

MERCEDES BENZ 124 124 Volvo guy here - want to jump to the Merc ship - can you please advise

Hi. Dual 940 household here and I almost pulled the trigger on a 98 S90 a couple days ago. But...a pretty knowledgeable guy on our volvo forum suggested to me that before I stay with the volvo I should really consider the W124 MB models. As hes a mechanic had great things to say about the W124s. So after doing tons of Internet research this morning Ive come to the conclusion that the W124 MB models

Hi I made the move to a W124 Wagon (95 E300D Wagon) following ownership of 850 and V70 T5 Wagons. I have had no regrets although I have great respect still for volvo and would consider one again in the future. Pros for the W124 Wagon - Even longer life than volvos - Even better parts availability (millions of taxis) - Even easier to work on - Even more over engineered - Body ages less (no rattles or

MERCEDES BENZ 123 123 123 Diesel as a daily driver

Im considering an older diesel mercedes as a daily driver. Im looking into the W116 W126 and W123. Any proscons between these is welcome. Lets say I could find a nice example that was properly taken care of would you hesitate to drive it every day What are some thinks to look for in a used 123 diesel Thanks

These cars were built in a very similar fashion. The main differences would be primarily in creature

MERCEDES BENZ 190 W201 Oil Pressure

My 91 190E 2.6.. 124 k on it. I use 10w30...oil very clean just changed about 1800 miles ago. When my baby is first started no problems. Sometimes a slight tap for 1 second until oil pressure builds. But that was only during the winter. After warmed up...I noticed a few days ago my oil pressure will sit at almost 0 in gear but my idle is too low around 600. If I pick the idle up to where it is supposed

etc) pay very close attention to the quality of the oil going into their engines and the long term wear on these engines through lab testing. The oil manufacturers are aware of this fact and cater to their needs with some very high quality diesel oils. We can take advantage of this by using the same lubricants. Our family has put over 300000 miles with diesel oils on our 5 cars (2 MBs 2 volvos

MERCEDES BENZ SL 107 280SL K-Jet and Ignition conversion to Megasquirt write up

This write-up will describe how I changed the old Bosch K-Jet fuel system on my 280SL -85 to a modern EFI-system and it will probably also work on the older Bosch D-Jet system. I will try to cover as much as possible regarding our engines when it comes to different options and installations but in the end anyone planning to build and installing a MegaSquirt EFI system will require that you do some

BMW SERIES 5 E60 E61 bimmers not the only one

we all love bimmers. that is why we are here (on this site) but i have to respectfully disagree with those who cannot see that other brands have their merits. after just returning from a 3 week trip to europe i can say that i would definetly consider mercedes and audi next time. the idea that audi has a vw stigma is absurd. these cars are every bit as good as bimmers imo. i saw many a3s a4s and some

Cheers While I have become a bit of a BMW snob I have absolutely nothing bad to say about the competition (including the Japanese and English brands). BMW SERIES 5 E60 E61 How much can I tow with 535xi

Hi there First post. Looking to buying a new vehicle and the 2008 BMW 535xi wagon is on the short list. Cant find any info on towing capacity though and a search for suitable hitches has so far yielded only the Curt hitch which is rated only for 2000 lbs. We need to tow a minimum of 3500 lb but would prefer up to 4000 lb. The wagon should be capable of these towing weights as our old 96 volvo 850 wagon

The 535 diesel uses a turbo charger and has a 4400 lb tow capacity. Our 850 volvo has a high pressure turbo and weve pulled our boat (about 2600 lbs) twice back and forth to Maine (1200 miles one way) plus numerous times to the Atlantic without any engine or transmission issues for the past 200000 miles. I would think that driving the 535xi in mountains (such as around Denver) would put about equal

MERCEDES BENZ 123 123 Angry idle

Since I bought my 240D about a year and a half ago its had a pretty mean shake at idle (obviously worse when cold). It drives great and all shake goes away when revd. I dont have a tach so Im unsure at what rpm it smooths out. Ive essentially just put it out of my mind and have just dealt with it. It likes to smoke a bit too but Ive put that out of my mind as well. But I figured Id inquire about what

test Ive read the dangers of putting compressed air into a cylinder with a piston thats not at the bottom of its seat.. I do have excessive blow-by and I do burn oil. The oil doesnt burn at an awful rate but definitely burns. I typically add a quart every 1000 miles or so. MERCEDES BENZ 123 123 What is the truth about restoring compression from a bottle

Ive used MMO and seafoam in engines to clean sludge and mild carbon but Im really skeptical of how it would be possible to restore compression from a bottle. Has anyone performed a test When I check for bad rings in my motorcycles its done be performing a compression test by adding small amount of oil to the cylinder. If the compression rises I have bad rings if the compression stays the same I have

I put 14 cup of Marvel Mystrey Oil in the Cylinders and let it soak for 1 week. I Cranked the

BMW SERIES 3 E90 E91 E92 E93 Your history of cars leading to E90

Was wondering what cars (lifetime if you remember) led people here to the E90. .....for me First car was 1980 Chevy Chevette..then...1979 BMW 320i...1986 325es...1992 Mitsubishi Montero...2001 volvo s40.....E90 on the way (ED April 2006)................the chevette in high school was referred to by everyone as the vette but with pedal to the medal the speedometer would decrease on hills go figure

A history of switching from the European to Asian continents 1976 Chevy Vega Sport Wagon - Bright Orange rusted out but good DIY car (lots of practice) 1980 Honda Civic - 125000 miles with very little repair cost 1980 Volkswagon Rabbit diesel - Zero to 60 in 6.3 minutes 50 MPG 1989 Toyota Corolla - Good car for a poor graduate student. 1994 volvo 850 - A lemon with awful customer service 2000 Subaru
