VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT B5 ATQ wtiptronic Catalyst removal from exhaust manifolds

This seems like an almost impossible task. I saw a thread where someone else managed this and had to remove some shielding from around the transmissionaxles etc. The top and side nuts are almost impossible to even get your hand on to guide a swivel socked onto. Does anyone know if its necessary to remove the axles themselves I managed to get one of the difficult nuts off with a crazy mish-mash of swivels

just informed me of (and I suspected)... its impossible to get the whole unit out. It wont get past the side of the transmission. Im stuck like chuck. At this point I dont feel confident fooling with the subframetilting the whole powertrain. Maybe if youre a more experienced wrench its not such a big deal but this vehicle is a different animal to me. Ive swapped 1.8 4-bangers in and out of Golfsjettas

I have just bought a 2002 jetta (2.0L 4-cylinder manual transmission). It is not the turbo nor the turbo diesel. Just the gold ol 2.0 liter 4-cylinder like my old one. So heres my question... I have a metal-sounding rattle that seems to come from the center of

My 99 jetta keeps throwing off the code p1128. Could this be because of my cai Or do I need to get a new one This ad is not displayed to registered members. Register your free account today and become a member on volkswagen Forum

The hose that I found was loose was on the left side of the intake manifold. It hooked on right next to the engine block. Could that cause all these codes by any chance Also I do have an after market exhaust put on. I replaced the downpipe and cat also the rest of the exhaust. My old cat was competely hollow could that have caused any of these problems

well first you gotta look at how much feel like spending....if I was going all outI would do forged internals port & polished heads and GIAC Racing Chip. If youre on a budget just do the normal...intake exhaust underdrive pulley and chip. You could also get bigger injectors but then you might have to get another intake manifold. I dunno theres so many different combos it all depends on what youre building it for.

VOLKSWAGEN JETTA 1997 Jetta Rattle at 2000 rpm

Hey all I just bought a 1997 jetta GL 5 speed with 125000 miles. The car has been well maintained. Its a great car but I have found that when I shift and the engine is running between 1900-2100 rpm I get a rumble. The sound comes from underneath the car behind the center armrest (where the middle backseat passengers feet would rest). I can also hear the sound in 5th gear when the jetta reaches about

VOLKSWAGEN JETTA 1995 VW Jetta lll GL 2.0

Okay I am having a problem starting my car. Here is where the problem began. A few weeks ago my Mother took my car to work on her way home from work my timing belt snapped. I had my buddy tow my car to my driveway for me because obviously it would not run. From here I had the timing belt fixed. Re-timed everything correctly It is getting gas spark and cranking over. But for some reason it will not

You can check the valves by taking the intake and exhaust manifolds off. You dont have to remove the head. First I would take off the intake and take off the valve cover and check out your cam and springs.

im sorry man but buying a stand alone kit was a bad idea. You cant run a turbo on a 2.0 with stock components. Youre gonna need an intake exhaust manifold wastegate new turbo back exhaust intercooler injectors tuning or a load of time on the dyno which is way expensive plumbing for all this a diverter or blow-off valve and a boost control solenoid. You may need other stuff on top of that thats just

Okay there are a few possible problems. I too was getting a code which threw the engine light on. I had it read at autozone and it came up as (bad Cat). I replaced the Cat and the codes were cleared since i had the battery disconnect so that i could do the required welding ( so i did not short anything out ) . All was okay for a day and the light came on again. I then referred to the SMALL leak i had
