TOYOTA YARIS Fuel gauge low fuel indicator

Hi everyone. I bought a 2008 yaris last year and Im still wondering if theres a step past the flashing single bar of the fuel gauge to indicate low fuel. Is there some other low fuel light indicator (like I had in previous cars) after that or the car will eventually breakdown when this single last bar is flashing Thank you.

Was reading some past threads. I read that we should not let it drop to 1 bar (blinking). Always try and keep it at minimum 2 bars because you dont want your yaris running low and on fumes. All the gunk in the fuel filter will get stirred and stuff if someone with more knowledge can explain better. The fuel filter is extremely difficult to change some say its unserviceable so we should take care of it and use decent fuel on top

I got no bar at one time . Battery was dead. I think that was the sign of the fuel pump not working the motor couldnt even crank. On topic on my yaris the last bar starts blinking fast when theres about 12 litres (3.2 gallons) of gas left. I once drove for another 100 km (62 miles) and still had about 5 liters left in the tank. However I suggest refuelling as soon as possible as you could potentially

TOYOTA YARIS Fuel indicator gone crazy

Hi Guys I have faced a weird problem today. The fuel indicator had 3 bars on it but I decided to refuel it full. I turn the engine off while its refueling. After refueling I turned back ON the engine I can see it full. Then suddenly the bars went down one by one (each second) and finally to warning bar. I cannot figure out whats the problem like I have restarted car twice but to no success...Shall

You probably do not work floater in the tank. This has already been discussed here. httpwww.yarisworld.comforumsshowthread.phpt35211

Thanks a lot for the reply.. Is it possible that the guy refueling it might have kept that thing so inside that it disturbed sender unitfuel detecting mechanism.. Shall I give it a go at other petrol station to try moving mechanism with nozzle he inserts.. Or else I can be hopeful that it would go off with some refuel cycles..Would battery pluggingunplugging help

You can try disconnecting the battery for a few seconds to make the instrument cluster fully reboot. If that doesnt help and the level stays on the empty warning indication then the sender may be contaminated and need cleaning. There is nothing that could be damaged while refueling (unless you got some really contaminated fuel).

Yeah and just want you guys to know that fuel indicator got fine automatically this morning after about 2 Km of driving. Levels back full. Really happy with yaris self-healing technology. Although its around 90 km but not a single level down I hope its stays working fine P Thanks a lot for your support yarisWorld.

TOYOTA YARIS Fuel Range Indicator Problem

So. My yaris has 12 tank of fuel in it. Yet the range states 25miles left and its dropping... (fuel bars staying the same...) Any ideas The dome fuse recently blew twice (which controls the digi-range) as you know.... could this be the cause Thanks.

It sounds like they are out of sync. The service manual for the digital cluster doesnt mention anything about resetting or resyncing it so maybe it will clear itself once it sees a full tank.

Yeah... after getting to zero and sitting at zero for some time (on a half tank) it re-set itself. Holding TRIP also resets it but i was receiving an error everytime I did that. Now it says RESET OK. )

TOYOTA YARIS Fuel Pump Failure

I bought a 2009 yaris and now it has about 80000 miles on it. Last year I had about several gallons in my tank based on the dashboard and my car runs out of fuel and I have to call toyota towing service to put some fuel in my car and then it starts to run just fine. Didnt consider calling toyota to take a look at the dashboard to see if its reporting the right fuel levels. A year later Im driving to

TOYOTA YARIS Fuel Efficiency and the Yaris

With todays rising gasoline prices and the growing awareness of the ecological geopolitical and finite resource issues that come with an oil-based economy most people are at some stage of awareness regarding a need for higher fuel efficiency. However most folks do not have a good idea of where to start or a solid way to sift real information from a sea of greenwashing snake oils and disinformation

TOYOTA YARIS Fuel Capacity

I know that the tank holds 11.1 gal (US) and there are 8 bars on the fuel gauge. Doing thte math that would suggest each bar would represent 1.38 gallons per bar. However as I drive much like my last car I noticed that it goes really slow through the first 2 or 3 bars and very quickly through the last three bars. What I am curious about is how much fuel is left in the tank when the fauge reaches the

TOYOTA YARIS New CAFE rules nearly double fuel economy by 2025

I cant imagine them getting to this target by 2025. The yaris greats awesome MPG and isnt within shooting distance of 54.5 MPG(US). I sue hope were not all driving 1.0 Litre cars in 14 years... TOYOTA YARIS Oil Level and Fuel Economy

OK I have been interested in the level of oil most people keep their yaris at since I have been trying to find ways to counter the winter gas syndrome that has dropped my MPG average (from 36-38 MPG during the summer to 32-34 during the winter. Note I am running 21545ZR17s Riken Raptors on my 08 auto hatch). I came across this web site Exstrom Laboratories - How To Increase Your Gas Mileage and note

TOYOTA YARIS Help ASAP low coolant indicator

Hi. Im new to the forum and needed some help. I have had my yaris base sedan for about 5 days now and every time i start up the car my low coolant light is on for about 1-2 mins until the engine is warm then it turns off. At first i freaked out and checked my fluid level but everything was good so i just figured that was something this car did to let me know that my engine is cold and turns off once

was because it seems to happen everytime but then again ive only had my car like less than a week. Im so glad you know the answers to these things.. Im such a worry wart when it comes to my first brand new car.. One more thing to bug you with is when letting your foot off the gas coming up to a stop light(in my old beater) i usually could let my foot off the brake and roll up to the stop. In my yaris

TOYOTA YARIS P1 Can i drive when the COOL indicator light is on

I just wonder if I need to drive until the COOL indicator light if off Thanks

i always wait for it to warm up..it would run smoother and would lessen the wearing of the engine.... u could experience knocking running on a cold engine and u would feel less power...plus a cold engine burns a lot more fuel

TOYOTA YARIS Blinding blue indicator light

When driving the yaris on dark nights the blue high beam indicator light is so bright that it becomes annoying. I thought I read some where that a resister can be added to reduce the intensity of the light. Has anyone had any success with a fix for this one Thanks Birdman

TOYOTA YARIS How to improve my fuel economy

I have a 06 Belta with the 1KR-FE 1.0L engine the fuel average is suppose to be around 20-22 KML. But when I fill my tank I get around 300-350Kms on a full tank. How can I improve the overall fuel economy I asked a guy at a workshop he said to get your Throttle body and MAF sensor cleaned. I Need some suggestions on whether to getting my Throttle body and MAF sensor cleaned or not and other suggestions on getting a better overall fuel economy.

The numbers you have given are unrealistic. 20 kmlitre (5 litres100kms) is well less than the official figures. If my memory serves me right the official consumption figures for highwaycity were 55 and 64 litres100kms (10 HB). Youll find that you usually fill up ca 37 litres at a time because the fuel indicator actually shows empty (0kms range) when youve used up about 35 litres of fuel. That amount

TOYOTA YARIS Fuel pump issue

Well I am starting to notice my 2010 with 55k miles is starting to require a few more revolutions of the starter before it starts. Im thinking i have a fuel pump starting to crap out. No other issues with accellaration or rough idle etc. Any thoughts or suggestions

That is typically an indicator that the battery rather than the fuel pump is getting tired.

I highly advise that anyone who owns a yaris and wants to replace the exhaust header please read this. Anyone who has already replaced their exhaust header can verify. TOYOTA YARIS Loose wire by fuel filler tubeneck.

Hi Guys just had a tyre changed and whilst up on jack I noticed an unconnected wire. It is a single black wire not in a pair with a small female connector crimped on not a blade one but round approx 1mm diameter. Nothing obvious for it to connect to no empty spade. Sits in a crease down the back of the filler neck. I wonder if it is a static earth My car is a diesel so I dont have a Haynes or other manual to help. Can anyone help with this please. Thanks guys.

TOYOTA YARIS Shift Knob with LED Gear indicator

Posted this in another thread response but Im curious if anyone has actually used on of these things yet Thoughts httpwww.indy-cator.comenglishhome.phpsection20

I dont understand what this does to reduce fuel consumption by up to 15&37. I also believe its kind of dangerous to look down at the knob while driving (my driving instructor used to tell me that its a common cause for accidents).
