yaris9876 thanks for the pic. when I get that off how does the white plastic thing come off Do you lift up the whole thing at once or pull 1 part at a time.Does it unscrew or just pull I would think the seal would come from the plastic thing rather than the goo.... additional pics would be great.. What would I expect to pay for a new filter Autozone The top of the tank has a ring that screws on. toyota

TOYOTA YARIS DIY - Removing the gas tank from under the car (to access the fuel filter etc.)

Why would you want to do this Well removing the back seat to access the top of the fuel tank can be a bit of a hassle even a drop of gas spilled on the carpet will stink for a long time. Before you begin depressurize the fuel system by pulling the EFI fuse (in the under hood fuse panel) and cranking the starter a couple of times. 1. Lift the rear and properly support the car Since this will involve

TOYOTA YARIS fuel filter

Are the fuel filters on these wonderful little cars in the gas tank

Thats a clogged tank vent hose not the fuel filter.

Thanks yaris Hilton... how does the vent hose get clogged

A kinked hose debris in the tank deteriorating rubber inside the hose blocking the lumen... I recently had to replace the fuel hoses on a Diesel engine that had rotted and blocked themselves. My problems with vent hoses have been with cracking and leaking rather than plugging. I suppose you could have something in the filler pipe as well.

TOYOTA YARIS Questionable funk from the air vents

Okay so my deal is that my vents have been shooting this stale 3-week-old tortilla-chip smell everytime I start the car with the AC on. Its only for a few seconds then it either goes away or I get used to it. This is has been going on since the lovely new-car smell faded away at 4000 miles. Since then Ive been dealing with this everyday and its really starting to get on my nerves. I only have about

TOYOTA YARIS Cannot fill gas at a pump

Hi all. Before I get into the issue I am sorry if this post is too long. I have been having this fuel filling problem with my 07 yaris liftback. I cant remember exactly when it happened but one day my yaris started to have difficulties filling the tank at gas stations. The gas nozzle will click off when the tank is filled fast. Even if the tank is filled very very slowly it will click off every 50

Does anyone know what the second vent line that goes directly from the tank back to the filler neck do In the yaris factory service manual under the fuel section it is called fuel tank breather hose (page FU-42) and seems to be different from the vent line from the canister. When I was checking under the car I did notice this line but figured that its too skinny to let large volume of air through while

air a lot of air came through. Not sure why there was some pressure built up in the line. Either way. removing the vent line didnt let the gas go into the tank easily so the blockage could be somewhere else Or does everyone think it is still the vent hose due to the released pressure I read that cars come with rollover valve that is at the tank end of the filler neck. I am assuming the yaris

to fill up the gas afterwards and noted the gas nozzle still kicks off. He said the first 2 lines out of the tank were definitely not the problem. He then proceeded to remove the fuel pump assembly from the tank and while doing so he saw the rollover flap in the tank was bent and not closing properly. He said that may not matter for the fill up but he said that was the first unusal thing he saw. toyota

to reduce the amount of fumes getting let out. So this is why we have charcoal canisters etc instead of just venting the tank to atmosphere. Then you go and open the fuel cap and spray agitated fuel in (releasing lots of fumes). This is not what they want. So they create a system to suck in the fumes while you fuel up. I would have to look at exactly how it is routed or see the diagram for the yaris

My cute little yaris LB is getting close to needing her 60 K miles service (still works like clockwork as far as I can tell ) Since I bought the yaris at a toyota dealership about 50 miles from my home I decided to look into the toyota dealerships closer to my home instead for service. But when looking at the reviews for the various toyota dealerships on Yelp.com I saw that people complained quite

TOYOTA YARIS DIY 6040 Split Seat Install (some welding required)

I was fortunate enough to recently acquire a 6040 split rear seat as a swap for the rear bench seat in one of my 2008 yaris. In another thread ( httpwww.yarisworld.comforumsshowthread.phpt42579 ) I described the process of installing my bench in AuxMikes yaris. TOYOTA YARIS Error Code PO453

Hello Can someone help how to resolve Error Code P0453 check engine light in on..please help. P0453 Evaporative Emission Control System Pressure Sensor High Input

That indicates an issue within the evaporative canister back by the gas tank. P0453 could be caused by any of the following Canister pump module &8226 Connectorwire harness (Canister pump module - ECM) &8226 EVAP system hose (pipe from air inlet port to canister pump module canister filter fuel tank vent hose) &8226 ECM Look at page 207 of the Engine Control section of the service manual and work your way down from there for instructions on how to determine what the actual problem is httpwww.microimageonline.comforu...32-yaris-FILES

TOYOTA YARIS DTCs P043E & P043F

Just wondering if anyone else has seen these codes come up I filled up gas two days ago and then this morning the CEL comes on. I scanned it when I got to work and the DTCs are P043E Evaporative Emmisions System Reference Orifice Clog Up P043F Evaporative Emmisions System Reference Orifice High Flow I cleared the codes and they dont seem to return so far but I was curios if anyone else had seen these.

Im surprised you didnt have 5 codes total those 2 have been showing up with another 3. I just fixed one last week same problem the Xas have the plastic holder at the top of the fuel filler pipe is letting water into the vent tube on the pipe and its getting inside the evap canister. There isnt a service bulletin for this YET but there will most likely be one soon. Take it back to the dealer and have

TOYOTA YARIS HOW TO PUT THE 10K POTENCIOMETER AND A COUPLE OF MY MODS

this is the potenciometer trick it has to be a 10k potenciometer this is the hot shit right now with the yaris in pr. what this does is that it tricks the computer that the engine is -10 colder and it sends more fuel and it revs up preety fast and sucks more air for those of us who have cold air intake its a noticeable gain. dont have to run dynos cuz you can feel it...BUT you only turn it on while

TOYOTA YARIS Is the 60k miles service worth the 400 at the dealer

I was just wondering if anyone had gone to the dealer for the 60k mile service. I havent had the time to look in the manual to see what is included so I just wanted to get some opinions. Thanks

TOYOTA YARIS gasoline smell while driving

I have a 2007 yaris sedan and while driving the other day my car smelled like exhaustgasoline. I thought it was the big truck I was next to but it is still happening (almost a week later). It does not smell when I get into it but after its been running for a while it starts to smell. Fortunately it is starting to warm up here so I can open the windows when it starts to smell but it happened again today

Quote Originally Posted by buffalogirl Thanks for your help If it is the vent hose wouldnt it smell all the time Also will I be able to see gas leaking from it The car is only 3 years old does the rubber normally break downcrack after that amount of time It seems like it should have lasted longer especially on a new car. Is the smell stronger when you move the air supply knob to outside air instead

Could be a leak anywhere in the fuel system. If it were that vent hose I mentioned the problem would be worse right after filling but can occur anytime the pressure in the tank is above atmospheric as when it warms up. I could see gas drip from mine after filling it to the top which is a bad idea anyway as that can cause liquid gas to get pushed into the activated carbon evaporative emissions control canisters when the full tank warms up and pushes fumes and fuel out.
