Thanks for posting this. I have never understood the disparity evidenced by toyota in including leather seating in their prius model line. This inconsistency has been extended to their badge-engineered Lexus Hybrid (HS) which although claims to have plant-based seating internals is clad in leather. Volkswagen has a much better alternative in their turbo diesel-engine equipped vehicles. While being
What part of that monstrously expensive hybrid battery is earth friendly If you were really concerned about the Earth youd sell your prius and ride your bike to work. Oh I have a leather seat on my bicycle too. And the brakes work. LOL
Hydride battery. Does the element NICKEL ring a bell NmH batteries are FULLY recyclable. AND the recycling company can make a PROFIT recycling the battery. With Lithium batteries coming in a couple more years (its not even a heavy metal). AND... prius battery is actually a PACK of 20 separate batteries. Each individual battery can be removed from the pack and replaced as needed. Now if you go to toyota
Thank you for this. I would like a prius but I will not compromise and get a car with leather seats. Its disgusting
My 2006 prius has over 70000 miles and has had no maintenance except new tires. It works great. The need for a 3000 battery in a few years proved to be false and all prius owners I have talked with have had very low maintenance with high mileage. My concern is that garages always want to do big jobs as preventive maintenance. I always check with other dealers and have even called toyota headquarters
We figure weve saved 4513 gallons of gas in 133425 miles just averaging 40mpg (we do little city driving and have lead feet...lol) driving our 2005 prius over our other cars which get about 17 mpg. Figure that at your local rate and youll have more than enough to replace just about everything on the car including the hybrid battery and still have lots of left over. Heck the savings equal over half
I had my electric inverter water pump replaced last year on my 2005 prius. The dealer at my last oil check told me my gas engine water pump is now leaking . The extended warranty I purchased just ran out after 7 years. Total mileage on my prius is only 40800 miles Seems kind of early for this to be happening. Not so thrilled about my prius anymore.
mechanic but this is not a problem to tackle. Out of 10 stars of difficulty i would give this a 4. Good Luck The video is for a 2006 but the 2008 is exactly the same. The pump costs a bout 40 anywhere and make sure you use the pink coolant required for Asian vehicles. I got mine at OReilleys auto parts. 15.00 for the coolant. www.youtube.comwatchvIphV2r3hkKc&8206 Originally Posted by cami62 The toyota
