TOYOTA CAMRY IV 1998 Camry ABS lightsensorsrelay

My daughter came home this Easter weekend with the ABS light on in her camry. We grabbed the codes - 31 and 32 which points to the front left and right sensors. What I also noticed was the ABS relay (left relay in gang of three - just to the left of the radiator) would make quite the loud click when the ignition was turned on. In fact I believe it was more than one click. I cant figure out if the relay

TOYOTA CAMRY III 93 Camry failed smog - O2 sensors

Hi My 93 camry v6 failed smog (california) twice. I replaced the Catalyst Converter after the 1st failure but failed the 2nd time. I was told it could be the O2 sensors. I replaced both upstream sensors with the Denso Universal model 234-1057. If I have both sensors installed but disconnect the connector the check engine light doesnt comes on. Is this normal This is a single wire O2 sensor. How can

California appears to have a one-time waiver allowing a 2 year extension for passing the test if 450 was spent on repairs at a smog station. Check the states emissions website. The check engine light comes on when the sensors are connected Is the check engine light on The emissions NO levels seem to have greatly increased after the converter was replaced is this correct There should be a downstream sensor but these seldom fail.

Thanks for the waiver info..Ill look into this. I just purchased this used car but cant seem to get pass the smog. This car is from New Mexico so there isnt a down stream sensor. I looked and confirmed there isnt one after the CAT just 2 upstream before the CAT. The check engine never came on. I was told to replace the cat after the 1st failure and the 2nd test was done about 3-4 days later. I ran the car for about 1hr (so its hot) before taking it in for the 2nd test. I also noticed everything for the 15mph gone up higher after changing the CAT. After the 2nd failed test the smog technician thinks the O2 sensors are bad. Again no check engine light even after changing both upstream O2 sensors and left both unconnected. I would think the check engine light would come on. Could it be a faulty or bad ECU My mechanic said the EGR checks out fine but Im not certain. How can I checktest the EGR system O2 wiring and ECU are working properly What are the emission components involve in passing smog beside the CAT OS sensor EGR How long should I waitdrive the car after changing the CAT and O2 sensors for the ECU system to learn before taking it in for a retest. I havent done so since replacing the sensors. Btw does anyone know where the ECU unit is located on this 93 v6 camry Any help would be much appreciated and thanks in advance.

1) Did you look on top of the exhaust pipe for the sensor yes my mechanic and I went under the car checked the exhaust pipe from front to back and found no downstream sensor. He thinks it doesnt have one since its no a California car. 2) The cars diagnostic system must complete a test (most likely 2 times) and fail each time before a code will be set. The test requires certain MPH time etc. Perhaps

The smog failed for the 3rd time after changing both upstream O2 sensors clean the EGR valve hoses air flow sensor the temp & coolant sensors are still new. It looks like the replacement and cleaning wasnt the issue. We did notice steam with coming out of the exhaust pipe and some water dripping out. One of the customer waiting to smog his car thinks it may be a head gasket problem but the car runs

TOYOTA CAMRY Bad airfuel sensors

Hi all New to the forums and lovin all the info. So heres my issue...I have a 98 camry (calif emissions 173000 mostly freeway miles) and for the last year I have noticed that the fuel mileage has been getting progressively worse (down 6 mpg). It has not thrown a cel but I fear that one or more of the airfuel sensors have gone bad and possibly the cat. I have also noticed that the exhaust smells bad.

TOYOTA CAMRY Where are the o2 Sensors located

Hi. I need to replace the two o2 sensors on my 1997 camry V6 3.0L but not sure where the two sensors are located. I know one is before the Cat Converter and the other after the Cat converter but was just wondering if they are both accessible so I can replace them myself Are there any photos posted with locations of these two sensors Thanks in advance for any help you can give. TOYOTA CAMRY TPMS sensors

Two-part question 1) Anyone know the exact TPMS sensor model (or whether its the 20 or 40 degree angle) for 17 (17x7) alloy rims from a 2007 SE 2) Are TPMS sensors model year-specific The 17 SE alloy rims mentioned above are currently sensorless so I need to get some. Planning on getting used but wary of getting ones from a 2007 vehicle because the batteries in them would probably be dead soon and

Never mind found the answer. Model is Pacific PMV-107J and as long as its that model sensor whatever year vehicle it came from is OK.

TOYOTA CAMRY 200 for pressure sensors ouch

I was thinking of getting four snows on rims from Tire Rack for winter use. I figured if I used them for three months a year my stock tires would then last a year or two more and in the long run Id recoup a good part of the cost. But its 200 to get sensors put on. The kicks it out of my price range. Why are those sensors so gosh darn expensive This ad is not displayed to registered members. Register your free account today and become a member on camryforums

Unless the tire sensor system needs to work for reasons such as state law insurance company requirements etc consider using the snow tires as purchased. Cars have functioned for decades just fine without these systems. There will be a few dash lights on but will get used to it.

TOYOTA CAMRY ABS Speed Sensors Price

The camrys ABS light came on I checked the code and it was a 36 which is the Left front ABS Sensor. Looked at all the parts stores non had it said that it was a product only the dealership had. Called them they want 196.00 for it. Man that sounds alittle steep if you ask me. Is there any where else I might be able to get it from Thanks Slomo This ad is not displayed to registered members. check ebay but if you are really short on cash go to the junk yard.

Did you pull the sensor and try to clean it I just did my rear struts and accidently broke a rear sensor. Try httpwww.toyotaoemparts.com they seem to have the best prices online (they are a dealer in Indiana). The rear sensor for my 00 is listed at 148.

Try www.rockauto.com Also try removing and cleaning the sensor.

TOYOTA CAMRY Passenger air bag sensors spilled coffee

Hey Im hoping someone is able to help me. I drive a 2007 camry. Yesterday while driving my coffee flipped out of the tray (I had very stupidly put in on the seat) and spilled upside down by the passenger side door and underneath the passenger seat. I cleaned it up as much as I could but this morning I noticed the air bag lights for the passenger side did not turn on. Any insight as to how serious this

Check your owners manual for details but as I understand the system If the passenger seat is unoccupied the classification light (passenger airbag light) should not be illuminated. When an adult sits in the seat the classification light should turn on and seat belt light flash if belt not worn. If a child or small package is put on the seat the classification light should be off and seat belt light

TOYOTA CAMRY IV 97 Camry - P1133 Code - Oxygen Sensor Questions

I have a 97 camry with 165K miles on it. Driving home from work today the CEL came on. I went straight to an OReilly Auto and had the code pulled. The result was a P1133. There were no other codes. Initial quotes for the sensor were in the 120 range for both the upstream and downstream sensors (220 total). I then realized my car has a California emission. The price jumped to over 200 for the front

I just replaced all of the O2 sensors on my 97 camry V6 this past year and made videos (in excruciating detail) Front two sensors 1997 toyota camry V6 forward Oxygen (O2) sensors Remove & Replace - YouTube 1997 toyota camry V6 forward Oxygen (O2) sensors Remove & Replace - YouTube Rear sensor 1997 toyota camry V6 rear (downstream) Oxygen (O2) Sensor Remove & Replace - YouTube 1997 toyota camry V6 rear (downstream) Oxygen (O2) Sensor Remove & Replace - YouTube I hope you find them helpful

TOYOTA CAMRY Anyone having same coil and O2 sensor failure issue

Hello Everyone (Preface I would like to hear from other people if they have experienced the same issues with their 2007 camry with the V6 - 3.5. (2GR-FE) engine as we have. (Or even 2006 or 2008 or 2009 camrys.) Our 2007 camry currently has 85134 miles on it.) Starting at just under 60000 miles ..... Every six months or so..... The check engine light comes on because one of our Oxygen sensors or one

Thank you Toyomoho for taking the time to reply (smile) Yes I did also post to toyota Nation forum as well and I have received confirmation that this model camry is known for eating factory original coils and O2 sensors. And this issue occurred with the factory plugs still in and even the rear three plugs that I installed while I had the intake phelum off are toyota factory OEM parts. It is quite obviously

TOYOTA CAMRY P1135 Help

I am new here but not to the car world I have a customer with a 2002 camry v6 with a p1135 code We replaced the o2 af sensors as included with the 100k service. I did some reading and found that new sensors should have a resistance of 1.8 to 3.4 ohms on the heater circuit. here is what I found on the new sensors as the code will not clear. Front pre cat - 2.5ohms rear header front - 16.5ohms collected

Yes it is very confusing Typically it is less so. Suggest you review the sensor location at the link below httpwww.synapdev.comdownloadseg043-07.pdf Assume you want the Bank 1 Sensor 1 AF sensor for a California emissions car Suggest staying away from universal sensors and using Denso or toyota brand. Denso seems to work better on toyota (less likely to trip another code) something to do with the probe

TOYOTA CAMRY check-engine light

I have a question about a check-engine light code. I have a 2004 camry 4 cylinder with about 75k miles. I have had sporadic intervals where the check engine comes on and after one or at most two driving sessions goes back off. The intervals between check engine light occurrences range from one week apart to several months. At first I thought it may have been the gas cap. I had the code read and it

These sensors do fail. Some issues are the car may be emitting higher emissions and this will show up during an emissions test. The check engine light being on at the time of testing will result in automatic failure of the test. A failing sensor can cause the fuelair ratio to run rich resulting in the potential for increased catalytic converter failure. If replacing the sensor recommend either toyota

TOYOTA CAMRY New O2 Sensor - Having Problems

First.. The car 2000 camry CE - Automatic 4cl (Not Calif.) I replaced the FRONT O2 sensor with a DENSO (PN 234-4209) I bought this sensor for 3 reasons 1. Advanced Auto said it was the right part 2. The Denso site said it was the right part and 3. the OEM in the camry was also a DENSO. The only difference between this O2 sensor and the original one is that this one is a universal. I had no problem

Wow You are 100% right. I did some reading on the subject and Ill share what I learned and what you said but Ill add a little detail. First Joel_CA is 100% correct there is a big difference between an O2 Sensor and a AF Sensor. And although they look identical they are not. And again Joel was correct in saying that they are not interchangeable. See in the camry models from the year 2000 and up toyota

toyota has a service bulletin on this code see link below httptownhall-talk.edmunds.comdirectview.f16db86 This could be the problem. Your car may no longer be covered by the warranty. Any exhaust leaks or connection between the engine coolant temp and the light being on. Might also be a bad 02 sensor but without some diagnostic work and a specific 02 code you would be guessing. About 10 miles later after I bought the car check engine light went on. Took it to the shop and they gave me the terrible news . My cat converter is bad and need to be replaced. They said I could spend well

An aftermarket CAT of decent quality should work but these are not approved by CARB. A legit shop will not install it. The Rockauto website has a good selection with prices on non-CA CATs. Note if so for some reason the inspection station inspects the aftermarket CAT and finds it is not approved they can refuse to do the test.
