JEEP WRANGLER I YJ XJ tilt steering wheel into a YJ

I have been a member on the forum for awhile now and decided it was time to do my part an add to all the great write ups. I searched the forum for a how to on switching out the YJ column for an XJ tilt column. Everything I found was short an didnt have many pictures. So I decided I would take some pictures of the process and do a short write up. I hope this can help someone else. If there happens to

BMW SERIES 3 E46 Shaking steering wheel returns help omg I cant take it much longer

I changed my control arm bushings my rotors twice my brake pads twice. I got new tires and it stopped for 2 days. I then went driving in the canyons and drifted a bit and did some hard turningbraking. It then returned. My steering wheel now not all the time but sometimes shakes from 30-40mph. And shakes when I brake from any speed above 40mph. But keep in mind this is sometimes. I also have a squeeky

BMW SERIES 3 E90 E91 E92 E93 Steering Wheel Resistance

Ive have been driving my bmw for almost 5 months now and i havent really noticed anything wrong. This is my first car and i have nothing else really to compare it too. I drove my sisters C300 and i noticed that her steering wheel is very light and theres no effort needed to turn the wheel. This is very different in my car. im not saying its like a workout to turn the wheel but it just feels heavy and

FORD F150 Old School Steering Wheel

I want to replace my stock steering wheel with a custom woodgrain polished spokes wheel. ( aka 1967 GTO etc.) yes I know old school.... There are no replacement wheels for our Lightnings and I dont need an airbag etc. I am thinking of selecting a nice looking wheel and trying to have someone fabricate an adapter that will look almost factory. Has any one in the world replace their steering wheel

I think what everyone is saying is the modern and sleek lines of the Gen 2 Lightning really doesnt lend itself to a retro look truck theme. You can add all the woodgrain and cragers you want but the body screams modern. Its sort of like putting a set of rabbit ears antennas on an IPOD or curb feelers on a Viper. Just doesnt cut it. But hell...its your truck . Thats why they made chocolate and vanilla

MERCEDES BENZ 123 123 Play in the Steering Box

I had an alignment done today and the mechanic said I had play in the steering box Does anyone know what that means If it isnt bad is it something I need to take care of right away from a safety standpoint or can I live with it for a while To fix it what will it cost in parts andor labor Thanks.

if that works great. If it doesnt your screwed because there is no step by step diagnotics to trouble shoot it. The commercial shop manuals suck. And before I even go there I just know the dealers going to suck too. For the cash I have dumped into this thing I could have bought a 2000 VW Jetta with 100k on it. BMW SERIES 5 F10 F11 Does Your Steering Self Center

I notice that my steering needs to be turned back toward center when taking a turn. This seems to be the case at all speeds and is not a slow or fast turn specific issue. Im used to steering that self centers and I find I miss this. Its certainly not a deal breaker and Im sure its something Im going to get used to in time. I was just wondering if any other forum members noticed this or were bothered

Thanks to Needsdecaf and Erregend There are now more rabbit holes to go down in trying to fully grasp the steering issue. TOYOTA YARIS steering problem

nubee just got a 09 3 DR . i have 130 miles on my new yaris and i hate it its back at the dealers. heres the problem the steering wheel sticks in the center when im on the freeway 65mph and if the road has rain grooves it darts all over the place i have to drive it with 2 hands to keep it in my lane.. this sucks oh and the power steering cuts out at 30 mph dealer said everything is fine and the computer

I love power assist steering. You can really feel the road at high speeds. And then you have the power assist when you need while parking. Lot of sports cars are like this. But our little yaris comes this way from the factory. If you are comparing it to a luxury car where you can do a lane change with your pinky finger than it takes some getting usd to. Also our cars are going to wander a bit because of the very narrow wheel base. If you want a more stable car at high speeds you want a wider wheel base. Its not a M3. But a good pro is the increadibly impressive turning radius and quick steering response time. You can lane change like a rabbit or avoid obsticles or debree in the road with no problem.
