KIA OPTIMA Reverse Backup Lights Wiring

Installing after market camera with LCD mirror. Anyone know which wire at rear iss power for backup lights

From the wiring diagram SD926-1 looks like blue wire is hot for back up lamps.

The power wire for the reverse is Blue. You got 2 ways to tap into it. 1)You can try your chances on bunch of wires on the drivers side door sil use a voltmeter when you check which BLUE wire on reverse. I got the wire after testing 6 out of 15blue wires. (Taking chances less work) OR 2) Tap into the BLUE wire right next to the reverse bulb connector. (Easier just more work)

KIA OPTIMA For those who wired a backup camera (NEED SOME HELP)

So Ive located the harness for the reverse lights I have a black brownblack and blue wire in the harness. Either my volt Meter is broken or nothing it got when the reverse lights are on. So I know I wire the black to black but where does the hot wire splice to on the harness Blue or brownblack

I wired my reverse camera power on the Blue wire before the connector. Then the ground to the bolt of the trunk latch. I did all this yesterday so its still fresh in my mind. I believe that the brownblack is for the tail lights on the trunk and black is ground.

Hey Readerb so you splice power into the blue which color is your wire the blackred stripe one what is the red stripe only color one Also how did you guys ran the wire from the front to the back where to hide it I just bought an oem non uvo nav system planning to install a reverse camera as well so can you please clarify for me. KIA OPTIMA Rear View Camera & Reverse Lights Issue

I searched the forums but couldnt find anyone with the same issue. Last night on my way home after I left work everything was working but on the way I noticed some flickering on my headlights (These are working fine) when I got home and was going to get the car in the garage neither the back up camera nor the reverse lights were working. The NAV screen when put in reverse doesnt do anything. I tried

I know this may be stupid but you did not tap anything into the nav unitrear camera wires on accident. When I took my car into the dealership because of rearview camera issues the SA jumped all over me because he saw extra wiring for my trunk smile and two way license plate module assuming I spliced into the nav unit. He was wrong

KIA OPTIMA Reverse lights wont work

I bought these reverse lights for my car httpbit.lyOCGrwq put them in and they worked for a second and cut out. Figured I blew a fuse but I checked them all and theyre good. Have no idea what happened.

I had the same issue. I replace the neutral safty switch which is on the transmition it self. Just screws in place and a wire snaps on it. Fixed my problem.

KIA OPTIMA Anyone know positive negative wire colors on factory Sub

Factory sub is a dual voice coil and has a green and black wire going to each voice coil. My problem is I do not know if which is the positive and which is the negative. Anyone have a wiring diagram or can confirm which is what I read on here someone saying green was negative but I havent got a definite confirmation answer on that... So you know im tapping in a LCi2 amp add on interface to them. Adding 2 10 subs in custom built fiberglass boxes molded to the shape of the trunk.

maybe a volt meter connect the red of the voltmeter to the green black to black see if it reads negative value just reverse the polarity if it doesnt read negative value then the polarity is correct.

KIA OPTIMA Modifying Factory Door Mood Light for More Light (DIFFICULT JOB)

I thought I would post more info on this and ended up with a DIY. ez2click did this on his car sometime back and didnt provide a whole lot of info on the mod. Just go buy an LED strip like the other DIY in this section. Ok the reasons

KIA OPTIMA How to Install OEM LED DRL in 2011 Kia Optima DIY

Sorry I didnt take many pictures but decided this was a good thing to write up since there isnt much information to be found and what information I found has some inaccuracies that cost me some time. This is rather lengthy but thats because

KIA OPTIMA Just ordered the Pioneer AppRadio 3

Super excited I just placed my order for the Pioneer AppRadio3 and all the trimmings for installation and Iphonesteering wheel integration. Im hoping my DIY skills can make the stock Bluetooth mic and USBAUX inputs to function still. Will report back in the next week or two and let you guys know how it turned out. I am most excited to be able to utilize the HU basically as an extension of my iphone

Im not an expert solderer by any means. SO that part was a major success. I also wired a backup camera to the Pioneer App Radio 3. I hooked the cam up to the backup lights for power and wired it to the head unit as a trigger for trigger when the cam turns on with the backup lights. Works great however the only thing that pisses me off with that setup is that the camera is only powered when in reverse

KIA OPTIMA Installed HID.w relay ... Problems.. help

so i just hooked up my H11 HID with relay. After i re-installed the battery I turned the car on. Nothing.. Just the Relay chattering.. No lighting. ( i had the positive wire connected to the battery before the fuse.( Large nut )) Then i tried after the battery fuse ( smaller nut) the lights would strobe and the relay would Chatter. On aux the light works fine but when i start it it flickers and chatters.

Quote from ddm if you install your hid kit and they do not turn on you may have reverse polarity. What this means is the power and ground wires are your vehicles stock harness are reversed. What you will have to do is plug the harness connector into the ballast backwards. You will be plugging in the connector from your car into the kit backwards. This will not harm the vehicle or the kit. Note reverse

KIA OPTIMA Back Up Camera Install Question

KIA MAGENTIS II 2006.5 Optima Steering Wheel Crumbling

The padding on the steering wheel of my 2006.5 steering wheel is crumbling. The dealer has suggested that this will require a new steering wheel to fix which would run about 900 with parts and labor. Is there a way just to replace the rim of the steering wheel or does the whole thing really need to be replaced Thanks

KIA OPTIMA So What to do with those 35W H8 fog light bulbs

So I figured out an epic use for those H8s we all are pulling out of the stock fogs and replacing with XY&Z... They are perfect reverse lights O) So you do have to make a minor cutshaving to the back but its easy and there is nothing to damage its mostly solid plastic but you cut it here so it looks like this Now you remove the pins from the connector on the tails using a small flathead And slip them

The 80W leds I retroed in there were actually mindboggleingly hot when I was toying with the fitting so I feel safe with them in there. Good to know. I personally prefer the crisp white light from my current 50 watt CREE bulbs Im using but this is a great mod that doesnt cost anything. So kudos to you for coming up with it. Im also running (4) separate reverse light bulbs at the same time in my optima right now. You can see a video of my setup here if youre curious.

KIA MAGENTIS I GD Replacing Fog light bulbs on optima 04

I recently had to change one of my foglight bulbs in my 04 optima.... it isnt hard to change... it is just REALLY awkward to get to. I recommend using a rolling creeper and pulling your car up onto a couple of boards so that you can get under your car easier. Position yourself on your back in front of the front tire and look up. You will see a big piece of plastic in your way. there is a very small

Hi i just got a optima yellow top and it wont fit in whats the best way to make it fit but longer cables the negative as inches of slack and will fit on whatever side it ends up but the positive cable is way too short ive searched on here and i guess they just dont fit without modification but i cant seem to find out what exactly the mods to make it fit were any helps and maybe some pix would be greatly appreciated.

What model did you get I just installed a D3478 and the terminal posts are reversed. I used the sideposts for the factory wires and am using the top posts for my amp. I did have to buy a 15 ground wire for the factory ground but the postive wires stretched without a problem. For mounting I used the factory tie down but also had to use the supplied plastic spacer from optima but I just ordered this battery tray. But maybe its different for 1st gens

KIA OPTIMA New Mirror

I have the plain Jane rear view mirror and have purchased a 2013 mirror with the homelink and compass off ebay. What purpose would the mirror need to be tied into the reverse lights
