nissan 350 z water pump

Answers and questions: nissan 350 z water pump

NISSAN Anyone else replaced a water pump

Pretty sure my water pump is dead or on its way to the grave. Truck doesnt get hot idleing runs 195 but you get on the road it takes about a min or 2 and its 220. Unless i have a bubble in my lines somewere but doubtful. I was wondering if anyone else has had to change there water pump Im at about 70k ish miles too.

Its not the thermostat because i swapped in a new one from a 05 350z and it got just as hot... Its at the dealer sleeping until they get to it. But im about 95% sure its the water pump i grabed the uper hose last night when it was running and up to temp and there was very little water flowing threw it. I may have to eat my words but im thinking the cheap plastic blades onthe water pump are toast.

I didnt use a used thermostat... But I had just bought a brand new thermostat from a 350z its the same thing just 10 deg cooler. So unless both of those were bad its not a thermostat. Truck is 2006 se v6 70kmiles

NISSAN water pump replacement

Is there a recommended mileage interval for changing the water pump and thermostat on a 2nd gen Ive looked through nissans service guide and didnt see anything. Did I miss it The pump cant last forever.

to remove and replace the pump. I would assume most are not comfortable with this so its not an easy 1hr job. I have yet to hear of a pump failure thou so you should be good to go for a while. The Tstat is another story in itself. Personally I will probably change mine every 2 years or everyother coolant flushdrainfill which I will be doing once a year. Coolant is cheap so why not Side Note The 350z

NISSAN JUKE Performance upgrade discussion.

Ok forum friends I have spent the last could days going through the forums researching what is known and available on the Juke. My goals are slightly different than many people on here. I want something quiet and quick. I am going to do subtle modifications to increase mildly the performance capability. I have a good deal of experience modifying nissan engines I currently have a 500 whp 350Z on pump

NISSAN Block heater roadblock

After reading the heater install thread in the Rogue glossary section I purchased a Kats unit (Pyroil) from Napa parts then called the nearest dealer for a labor estimate to put it in. Well thats when things went south... First they had never done one on the Rogue and said the only way possible was an oil pan heater pad. So I pointed out that all CA models come equipped that way and it entailed removing

NISSAN My First and Only Review for my Nissan Frontier 2004-Almost 8 Years of Ownership

I have to admit that this review was long in coming. I thought of writing a review 7 years ago but I was too much in love with my new truck to clearly write a good review. Now that I have owned it for almost 8 years it is a perfect time to write an unbiased review for this vehicle. The truck is a 4DR XE extended cab with a V6 4WD. It currently has about 82000 miles. It has a few modifications to beat

So here is my response AC died and oil leaks - its an old truck but most other makes would have had transmission or engine issues. the nissan i dont think so Gas mileage - bad yes it is. the worst not even close. try driving a 4cylinder jeep and then you would love the nissan. or what about a 6 cylinder f150 just as bad. the rust issue - just bought my 3rd nissan truck. guess what life time corrosion

NISSAN LEAF Need new leaf What is this leak

This is the front end of my passenger side leaf spring. The rear end of the leaf spring is arched up above the level of the axle while this one archs down from the axle to the point shown in the picture. Are these in need of replacement This picture is looking under the drivers side front wheel well. What is the silver circular part in the center of the pic I believe there is a leak coming from here.

a buddy of mine years ago was loosing colant slowly and just kept adding a little water not thinking of what he was doing to his mix ratio. He did end up popping two freeze plugs partially we were young (17) so lol he had no idea of what would happen Feb in Maine is a bit cold. The freeze plugs have nothing to do with the oil cooler though the ports may be close together atleast in my EXP with 350

NISSAN Sup Nico My S13 Coupe RB20DET build up

Sup Nico Im new to the site and hopefully meet new friends. I just wanna share a few things. Im starting a S13 coupe project and recently bought a RB20DET with transmission with engine mounts for S13 for 500 . The downfall is the engine harness has been cut and no ecu . Today I took off the intake manifold such a beep to take it off but its was successfully done. Then I decide to open the valve cover

you are looking at. If you have to incur a fixed expense like that you owe it to yourself to spend the money on the product with the greatest potential. A fully prepped RB20 might achieve 400hp. the same money spent on the RB25 might yield 500hp the RB26 600hp. The RB20 will be at its mechanical limits the RB25 will have perhaps another 50-100hp left in it the RB26 100-200hp. If your goal is 300-350hp

NISSAN Replace CVT or get rid of car

I have a 2008 nissan Rogue that needs the CVT replaced. I have over 165K miles on it so it is out of warranty. I really dont want to put 3.5-4 grand into a car with that many miles on it but given the high mileage its probably worth more to me than I could get for it in its current condition. Anyone have any idea on what I could get for my car in this condition Im sure a dealer would laugh at me if I tried to trade it in.

far less expensive components to worry about as in an AWD - the FWD should run trouble-free far longer than AWD and the AWD components are very expensive to repair or replace when they do fail. Id recommend getting the other major components of the car assessed or if you already have a good idea that everything else is in good shape and you like the vehicle Id probably lean towards investing the 3500

NISSAN LIST all repairs done to your froniter.

2006 SE CC 4x4 currently 52xxx miles. In chonrological order. 1. cluster left blinker would not blink gauge cluster changed (under warranty) 2. horn stopped working a fuse blew. It was not a regular blade fuse.(under warranty) 3. hood cowel plastic faded (changed under warranty) 4. other electrical problems spouted up after I drove it through a creek (yeah water in the windows.... ) none of it under warrantee but I had it almost a decade. edit1 oh yeah I forgot the most aggrivating one the gas gauge stopped working. They replaced the sending unit and fuel pump and if I remember right that was under warrantee but it didnt fix it. I ended up buying a new gauge cluster for 350

NISSAN MAXIMA I 18 years and 280000 miles later Im going to miss my Max.

Yep. Sadly the time has come to put my old third gen down. The car has treated my family well. My dad bought it new in 1993. A decade later I bought it from him then a few years later I sold it back to him for my sister. I never stopped thinking about the car as mine though. I was still the one who took care of it. Now though the car doesnt pass emissions thanks in large part to the exhaust manifold

NISSAN Buying Advice

Ok guys. Its game time. Im in the market for a Frontier. Before I go shopping I have a few questions 1. How much better is the 4.0 liter over the 3.3 Is it worth the extra money for a newer model 2. How capable is the 2wd vs. 4wd How worth it is it to have Stupid question I know but I want to know if having a 2wd will keep me from doing casual off-roading without difficulty. 3. What are certain things

yeah the 05-up have a more stronger engine then the 3.3 you can tow up to 5000 lb. with the 3.3 auto and 3500 lb with the manual. i think the vg would pull the z but alot of people like the new 4.0s better 2wd and 4wd is your option if you get alot of snows and like to wheel id get the 4wd if not then just stick with a 2wd. the 3.3s have timing belts have to be changed around 100k miles with the water

NISSAN CREW Opinions on 01-04 Crew Cab Long Bed 4WD

Once again in search of a nice Crew Cab Long Bed 4WD. This will be a 3rd vehicle for my family and will be driven a couple times a week as a DD and for recreation use. Want the CC to fit the family ( 2 younger childeren) Long Bed to be able to use around the house e.g. hauling mulch etc and 4WD to be able to hit the beach and light trails. Trying to keep the cost down so that is why I am looking for

need replacing (passed inspection) no service done especially timing chain missing rear center caps. Quick tally 600 for decent tires 800 for timing chain service from dealer (1200 if include tune up e.g. plugs belts etc) 100 for a pair of center caps total 1500-2000 I was going to try and negotiate 2K down out the door price but with the repairs needed there is no way going to get it for 3500-4000

NISSAN Timing Belt Broke

I have a friend that has a 2004 Extera that the timing belt broke while driving down the freeway. Ive called a few places and some say that there might be valve damge and others say no. Does anybody have any experience or info with this Hes has gotten quotes betwen 1700-2500 to fix it. Does anybody have a good place in SoCal for the repair He is located in the San Fernando Valley. Thanks For The Help

Mine broke winding up 2nd gear. Probably broke at 3500rpm. Hit the clutch right away drifted into a fast food parking lot and called the wrecker. No valve damage. You can do a peliminary valve check by getting a buddy to turn the engine over by hand at the crank while you hold a finger on an empty spark plug hole. Compression probably means your valves are ok. Do all 6. (a damaged valve will bend and

NISSAN SENTRA SR20DET vs. this setup

Once again I am back with a noob quesion. Long story short I no longer have the partial turbo kit that I bought with my SE-R (kid wanted it back and I got my money back so all is well). So now I have a SE-R with a busted motor. So heres my question. A local performance shop wants 3500 to install a bluebird engine yielding roughly 205hp. This does not include a custom exhaust intercooler etc. Its a

plugs up except EGR since there isnt any on the DET. Roughly 1700 plus shipping for motor 3-400 for clutch 150 for downpipe custom exhaust 2.5 or 3 couple gauges motor mount inserts oil good tranny fluid belts new water pump and spark plugs. Find a JWT ecu floating around for your setup or run a S AFC wstock ECU and tune however you want. This way will still save you 1000 from their outrageous 3500

NISSAN Manual transmission fluid change

2002 Frontier KC 2.4L Is there a write up on how to change the manual transmission fluid Also does the 2.4L engine have a timing chain I guess there is no maintenance to be done. Im trying to figure out what maintenance needs to be performed on a 2002 with 155k miles. Im going to replace the fluids (oil transmission etc.). Im also going to replace the plugs and all 4 brakes. Is there anything else I should look into

BMW Z3 E36 MZ4 advice for the track

i just finished my first track day in my M Coupe and i have to say the Coupe handled impeccably on the KW v3s but the stock brakes were overheating all day Do you track heads have any advice as far as brake pads front and rear and i know i have to upgrade the brake fluid to Motul 600 but does anyone know how much I would need to completely replace the stock fluid any insight would be great here are a couple pics from my track day

This is a center mounted 2 piece rotor design much like BMWs own rotors except 1) its not drilled and 2) its got an interesting converging vane design in the middle of the rotor disc that speeds up the evacuating air as the rotor spins thus improving cooling and 3) the rotor rings are replaceable. Ive had really good experience with their rotors it fixed a terribly BAD braking system on a nissan

FORD FIESTA Engine Break-In 101.

Engine and powertrain Break-in 101 1. Introduction ----------------- Every engine and powertrain is the sum of its total parts. If those individual parts do not fit together properly (proper bedding in) or the machined finish of those parts after being run-in are not optimal both fuel mileage and performance will suffer. Even though modern manufacturing processes have improved overall quality drastically

AUDI A4 B5 I may be getting rid of my A4...

This is somewhat long so if you would like to skip right to the point scroll down to the bold part. Before I continue my car is a 1999(.5 maybe) A4 1.8 Turbo Automatic with 97xxx miles bought less than a year ago with 955xx miles. So if anyone would remember a while ago I fell victim to the timing belt snapping. As it turns out the tension arm broke 2300 later the car is back home now. After it came

To the OP if you already replaced the timing beltwater pump cat converter and spark plugs you have already done the major problem areas with an older audi. So nothing major should happen besides small issues that you can easilly research here on the forums. However on a side note i dont recommend ANY german car for someone thats in school and doesntcant wrench on the car themselves. Shops and dealerships will take you to the cleaners with these cars the parts themselves arent very expensive but the labor is. The coolant leak you will find at the back of the cylinder head where the coolant flange meets the head. Very difficult to get at without the correct tools and it takes a long time to do. Perfect example here the entire flange costs 30 online. If you have the dealership (or any euro shop) you will pay 4 hours of labor to change it. In other words 350 just to fix a 30 leak. These can add up faster than you think so if you dont plan on doing the work yourself cut your loses and buy a toyota. Preferably a 4cyl VVTI engine that has a timing chain (most nissans use chains too) so the only thing you would likely need to do is change the oil.
