NISSAN Tailgate strength

Recently saw a thread on here about moving a safe in the bed. And some said the tailgate would not support the weight of about 400LBS. All my previous trucks I hauled 4wheelers frequently with. Using a ramp I just ran them up into the bed. Well Im brand new to the Frontier and is it ok to run my 4wheeler up into the bed Its a Honda foreman and weighs probably around 500lbs. Thanks

When I had my 96 nissan hardbody I routinely loaded my Honda Rancher 350 using ramps with the tailgate down. Im not sure how much the 4 wheeler weighed but Im about 160 lbs. I never even thought about putting too much weight on the tailgate but I guess maybe I should have. Also I never had any problems with the tailgate because of this. (I never had any problems with that truck at all. I kick myself everyday for selling it)

NISSAN Difference between 01 and 02 tailgate

Im trying to order a new tailgate handle assembly. I noticed that the 01 and 02-04 are different. I have a 01 CC and the tailgate assembly has the silver nissan emblem. I have also seen frontiers with the word nissan spelled out on the tailgate assembly. Im working on a 02 KC frontier and it has the emblem on the back. It looks identical to my 01 assembly. Online it shows them as being different. Does anybody have an 02 frontier that has nissan spelled out on it Anybody

NISSAN Carried a 4x8 with the tailgate locked on a angle

I found out that if I unhook my tailgate straps and hook them onto the tailgate latch posts the top of the tailgate was from what I saw the same height as my wheel wells. I was able to slide a sheet of ply on top of the wells and the tailgate. I still strapped it to the rail system so it could not go any where. I am just wondering if any one else does this Cheers. (New 2010 Pro 4x Crew owner and love the truck)

this looks like itll do enough for what I need and without seeing other manufacturers stuff in person to see how thick the metal is the design is for all intents and purposes identical. Also HF doesnt advertise it this way but you can install the short end of the large L-shaped piece in the receiver and use it as a ladder rack in conjunction with your roof rack if you have one. Like this I read 350

The sliding bed extender (which is useless crap IMO) is only 225 LB. The best way is really using a trailer. I do like

NISSAN Will my tailgate bend

I will be picking up my new Craftsman riding lawnmower Saturday morning. It weighs 495 lbs. I know our tailgates are rated supposily at 200 lbs. However my wife and I have sit on it several times and together we are close to 350 lbs. I never have had any problems with bent hendges or any other tailgate problems. I plan upon arriving at home with it backing into my front yard ditch. After reaching the

NISSAN Tailgate liner

There was a thread not too long ago where someone mentioned that the 07 tailgate liner did not scratch as badly as the 05 and 06 liners. I have tried to do a search on the thread but could not find it and I do not remember who the poster was. I went by the dealership this morning to look at the 07 liner and the mounting holes are not the same. A lot of the holes look like they would line up okay but

probably not a lot av they did my whole bed for 350 bucks and that was including 50 extra bucks to do over the bed rails. id say probably 50 or so (but thats a guess)

NISSAN 3500 mile and Towing evaluation

Ok so the good things are still good. Gas mile is averaging about 312-320 a tank with high end speeds of 65-75. The majority of drive time is probably less than that. Down sides I notice some wind noise. Need a dang light over the drivers head. Towing. Id first like to say ... I could choose to rape farm animals. Just because I could doesnt mean that I should. With that point made ... I towed at length

NISSAN How much weight to add to pick up bed for better snow traction

This information is for the 2nd gen Frontiers with 4 cylinders and 2WD There is no rear axle weight quoted in the nissan literature just a total load weight for the bed of no more than 1000 lbs and a tonque weight limit of 350 lbs when pulling a trailer. The ideal additional weight for increasing rear traction in snow and ice falls below 350 lbs. (for safety and handling reasons) then if you are placing

NISSAN Anyone ever have quality issue with factory bed liner

we mine is cracked and peeling at a seam. i took it to South Colorado Springs nissan 2 months ago for a while seemed like i was getting the run around. well i guess this particular dealership had a similar problem with a titan bed. to make that customer happy they replaced the WHOLE bed i thought that was a little overkill but they said there is no real way to repair the liner. well today i talked

NISSAN Need helpinput on pricing Fronty for sale

Hey guys I have a 1998 nissan Frontier King Cab SE I4 4x4 with 150500 miles on it for sale. It has recently had a new alternator installed new shocks belts and tires put on. There is minor rust damage to the tailgate not really noticable untill you pull the gate down and look for it and there is some rust damage to the underside of the truck. The Spedometer has recently started not functioning properly

NISSAN Anyone got a quad with there Fronty

Im looking to get a Yamaha Raptor 250 or 350 by the end of the summer. But the dimensions dont allow it to sit flat in the bed. I have the long bed and I think it will fit but front tires resting on the fenders in the bed with the back ones on the tailgate down with the bed extender in. Anyone got pics of them and there Frontiers with a quad in the back

NISSAN Dust sealing kits

Hello everyone. I am a brand new Aussie member to this forum. I have the Australian version of your Frontier the Navara and have it in dual cab utility (pick up) with a canopy. I have owned it for over 18 months now and have travelled over 35000ks all without the slightest problem. However the dust sealing in the rear pick up section is non existent and so far I have filled one way or another 27 areas

NISSAN Winch mounting

Hey I have a Pro 4X and I want to mount a winch to the rear bumper (more space to play with and easier to access when offroad) it appears it will fit almost perfectly in the part of the bumper where my license plate is (its where I have a step bumper which is soon coming off) Im curious as to whether or not this will be a good idea my concern is whether or not it will be strong enough for winching

I wouldnt do it for several reasons... The rear bumper is only rated to tow 3500 lbs. I would think in order for it to work You would definitely have to beef up the bumper itself and also the bumper mounts at the frame. It would have to be a fairly small low profile winch to fit there. Id worry about putting the tailgate down with a winch as you might get a big dent in the middle of your tailgate if

FIAT 500 II Tailgate

Well the A500 is in having its tailgate replaced along with the handbrake and dashboard problem. The handbrake keeps on rising and making the warning light appearbeep. The dashboard that was resprayed the correct colour has scratches under the paintwork I cheekily asked if I could have a GPA as a courtesy car they went one better and gave me this... The Esseesse and fook me its quick

LOL People always seem to think that the other person is racing them. Sometimes people dont care at all sometimes theyre not in the mood and some people just arent confident in the corners and just like to give it a blat on the straights. As for the nissan

NISSAN LIST all repairs done to your froniter.

They replaced the sending unit and fuel pump and if I remember right that was under warrantee but it didnt fix it. I ended up buying a new gauge cluster for 350

NISSAN Pictures with Quad and Trailer

Here are some pics of the truck after the rear add-a-leaf and the PRG 2 spacers empty with the quad loaded up and then with the quad loaded and trailer hooked up. BTW it handles really well now that the suspension is set up right for this kind of load.

Your quad weighs about 700lbs right Did you use ramps on the tailgate and drive it into the bed Ive got a quad that is similar in size (Bruin 350) and had some concerns about the tailgate when loading with ramps...

NISSAN Went to the track again(mixed results)

Finally got to the track again. First time with reasonable weather since my cam and Truetrac install last winterspring. My previous attempt was in a very hot July which wasnt too fun. Its still not cold here in Texas but we did have some fair temps this evening in the 59-63F range at track time. Reasonable at least. But I just couldnt quite beat my previous time. Came very very close several times

Basically If I do any weight reduction I want it to be a semi-permanent thing. Something I drive daily with and something that has little effect on the comfort safety and driveabilty of my truck. I could look at stuff like fiberglass hoods and things like that. If anybody has any reasonable semi-permanent weight reduction ideas I would like to hear them. I did find it nice to see there were 4 350Zs

NISSAN Bed Length Question.

Im about ready to pull the trigged on either a 06 crew cab SE or 06 crew cab nismo and one of the questions I have is the bed length. Is the bed long enough to fit a sportbike in Either straight in or diagonal Thanks.

ive had a honda 350 rancher in mine but that was with the tailgate down

NISSAN Yahoo My shell came in for my NISMO XC

Well...my nephew needed a car. Hes growing up working and going to school so I loaned him my loyal Toyota Taco. I made him sign a contract that requires him to stay in college fulltime and not drink and drive...and if he sticks to it Ill continue to loan him my truck. I have a lot of faith in him...and he doesnt know it yet...but Ive decided to give him the truck. Well...I need a truck for my business...so...

A pair of very primo 69 Camaros... Very cool Roy My first brand new car was a 68 Camaro SS 350 with the RS package (vacuum headlight doors). Since you are in SoCal maybe you can relate... I bracket raced that car at Lions Drag Strip and San Fernando Raceway many times. Great memories I sold my own primo low mileage 91 Mustang GT late last year to make room for the new truck. That car had numerous mods

NISSAN Motorcycle in bed of truck

Anyone here transport a motorcycle in the bed What is involved in getting it in there I have a 2003 Suzuki Intruder VS800. Think it would work Im guessing ramps

I use a 18x 94 oxlite 1000lb folding ramp for the bike and a 12 folding ramp for me. I load alone so I clutch the bike up the ramp while I walk beside it. Ive been doing it like that since I was 10. Most people I know use a toolbox or milk crate to step up onto the tailgate but Ive almost busted my ss doing it that way. Ramps I have come apart and fit in the cab while Im riding. Probably cost me 350

NISSAN Frontier VS Altima

So the day finally came the ole girl got rear ended. It happened earlier this evening I was driving home from work and i got a call from my wife. I knew something was awry because no one calls me while I drive home thats my time lol. Shes upset and crying. I just got hit she keeps sobbing. Making sure shes okay first I calm her down. Then I find out the details she got plowed by a 05 Altima at a green

It depends I see cab damage from the bed moving. Is there damage to the front of the bed looking from the cab side Would a shop need to remove the bed to fix and paint the sheet metal there Is the opening to the bed and tailgate undamaged Take a good look and discuss these thoughts with the shop you go to. Things can get overlooked at times. My guess is 3200-3500. As long as your wife isnt seriously injured youre doing well. Clint

NISSAN Anyone else get hated on by Bigger American Trucks

I have only had my Fronty about 3 weeks but I seem to catch some crap from buddies with bigger trucks. And I if I go to some country bars around here I get some dirty looks. Any one else get the same stink eye I love this truck and I get over 20 mpg while my buddies bada chevy gets 11mpg on Diesel...

my boss (F-250) gives me crap and his father wants to hook up the chains (F-350 diesel dually) because he claims he could drag any two trucks in the lot. I have actually offered to do it so long as we do it in the field next door (hmm mudders vs slicks...err street tires). And yeah they give me crap until we talk mpgs. my other boss has an 05 dak the day he got it he was talking trash about engine

NISSAN atvmotorcycle hauling (short bed)

im going to look at an 04 crew cab SHORT BED fronty today. just curious if it would fit an atv or a motorcycle in the bed. (600rr)

I own a 2005 CC SHORTBED... I have a Raptor 660R (350-400lbs) and the truck hauls it with no problem... I alson have a CRF250 and CRF50... those BOTH fit and the truck still hauls it fine... also Ive ran a trailer (5x7) and towed multiple bikes (1 in bed & 1 in trailer) I think a sport bike would be okay to haul... It should fit with the tailgate down.

NISSAN Resurrection 99 frontier

hi all... here are some pics of a 99 frontier that i got for 350 bucks. It came with a seized ka and a somewhat beat up body. I found an engine with 30k for 560 bucks from a 2004 fronty thats going in tomorrow. Hopefully everything is ok with it internally because on the outside its spotless. Also thanks to sexy6chick she hooked it up with a mint tailgate and bumper. Here are some random pics new engine woot new engine in but we found a problem with the throw out bearing so it had to come out.

NISSAN TITAN titan vs tundra

hi.. me and my friend tested both trucks and checked who is the great truck.. i was amazed with the Titans meager and explosive V8 engine.. also it has decent legroom and big headroom... the ride is stiff but tolerable. exhaust note is awesome and when you press the pedal engine hows like a muscle engine.. also it has great great birds eyeview... big truck...titan is a great truck after that we went

one of my co-workers got a new tundra 3500 miles hes had engine work tranny trouble and the lastest his tailgate has cracked and seperated not welded but epoxyed together

INFINITI 2013 Infiniti JX35 AWD the good the bad the ugly

Heres my review of my JX... I posted the good and bad things. The absolute WORST part of this car is the stupid changing of the menus (options are grayed out) when the car is moving.... AS IF httpwww.epinions.comreview2013_...t_611988770436

you from stomping on the gas. I.e. &8211 the gas pedal has some &8220feedback&8221 that pushes against your feet. Of course you can always step on the gas harder which cuts off the mode. But if you do that then you might as well keep it in the standard or sport mode. The sport mode holds the RPMs in the higher ranges longer. I have 2 complaints with this transmission. One the CVT in the cheaper nissan

TOYOTA TACOMA My poor taco

Well it was going to happen sooner or later. Was driving after work when i noticed an accident on my right. i looked briefly out of curiosity and turned back to see a bright set of brake lights in front of me. Unfortunately didnt have enough time to stop. Luckily we werent going too fast and everyone is ok. I took full responsibility and felt bad that i could have avoided hitting this guy. He was very

the brakes and had nothing claimed 10mph... I believe him it was heavy stop and go traffic and he had been fairly close behind me for a few miles. I felt them impact and buried both feet in the brake... felt like being picked up and pushed by a wave. Net result My Blazer totaled because the spare tire collapsed the tailgate. My front bumper bent one broken turn signal from being pushed into a nissan

INFINITI 2013 Infiniti JX Driven Review

Since the Infiniti JX35 went on sale in Canada in April the new three-row crossover has clearly outsold Infiniti Canadas previous best seller. The JXs 265-unit advantage over the G25 and G37 is pronounced given the size of the Canadian market. Infiniti sells an average of 683 vehicles per month here. Indeed the new JX has proven to be a hit for Infiniti both in Canada and the United States. While not
