KIA SORENTO I JC About Kia Sorento 2005 2007 and 2010 CRDI engine location

Hi everyone Most of our cars is either Hyundai or Kia. We have a 2005 Kia Sorento CRDI a 2007 Kia Sorento CRDI a 2010 Kia Sorento CRDI a 2007 Sta. Fe CRDI a 2007 Sportage CRDI and a KIA Carens 2007 CRDI. I had a few Qs about these cars. Except for the Kia Carens and Sta. Fe. Can anyone of our friends here tell me 1. Where I can find the engine numbers of the other cars 2. Which among these cars is

I can tell you all the Sorento CRDI 2.5 litre engines use a chain Im not sure about the others but I do think that as Hyundai-Kia moved away from Mazda and mitsubishi designed engines to their own ie to the later model petrol and diesel engines they tended to go away from belt to chain cam drives. Have a look at the front of your engine a gasketed ie oil tight metal casing would imply a chain drive

KIA Diesel or petrol engine

Hello I made my decision to buy a Mohave. It is not my dream car but it seems to me that it offers the best value for the money. The beige-colored interior looks really nice. Here in Ukraine the V6 costs about 32000 Euro in the topmost configuration (called Top). The same configuration equipped with a Diesel engine will add about 3500 Euro to the base price. Personally I was never driving a Diesel

KIA SORENTO I JC Engine tapping & Burning Rubber Smell

The wife and I came home from being on leave for 2 weeks and I took the wifes car (2003 Sorento EX) to go run an errand. When I first started it the car was making a tapping noise. To me with a some-what average car knowledge it sounds like a lifter valve. When I followed the noise under the hood I Got an idea of where the sound is coming from. It sounds like it is coming from the Drivers side of the

who likes to do his own work wherever possible and Im learing about these interesting cars just like the rest of us. One thing I have learned (from owing a Sportage for 10 years as well) is that really there is nothing particularly wrong with the quality of design or the assemblies put into these cars -most of it is time proven technology perfected by some well known company (ie engines - mitsubishi

KIA SORENTO I JC sorento 03 behaves like its out of gas when rpm gets at 2500.

Hi Hope I can explain this in english now. Our sorento -03 (2.4 LX) started to misbehave on the freeway three weeks ago. It felt like we where out of gas and we had to pull of the road. No lights are on. RPM is around 800 at idle so no problems there. The car starts every time without any problems but when you try to drive you get to about 2500 rpm and at that point the car wants to die. No trouble

Yes interesting the Sorento was only sold here with either the 3.5 V6 or later the 3.3 and 3.8 V6 and the 2.5 diesel. The 2.5 diesel is beloved here by the grey nomads to tow their caravans endlessly around Australia. I imagine the 2.4 petrol would be very similar to the 2.4 mitsubishi i4 given Hyundais preference for building mitsubishi engines. That engine 5 speed manual was also released here as

FIAT BRAVA 182 Greetings i have an hgt question...

Greetings ive owned a blue bravo 1.6hlx for 8 months now and have been very impressed with it (a vast improvment on my old 1.4 astra) but i have recently started hankering for more power (saying recently i mean since my mate bought a punto gt and kicked my ass all over the road). So i have been looking at the bravo 155 hgt as a replacement and was hoping to do some ass kicking of my own but before

KIA SORENTO I JC 55 Sorento 3.5L auto change takes too long

Hi folks - Only had the car (56k) for a month or so but having had autos in the past I feel that the Kia revs a lot higher than previous cars before it changes to the next gear. At least it sounds like its revving high - the rev counter doesnt indicate it gets beyond 2500 usually but it just sounds like its taking too long between changes if that makes sense Im starting to find Im using the auto in

2500 RPM is normal. that is what mine shifts at and seems fine. I mean it if you think about it the car weighs 2 ton and the engine only has 300NM and 150kW. Being petrol and originally designed in the 90s (mitsubishi engine) the torque would be ever increasing till peak at 4000 to 5000 RPM i would say rather than linear like newer petrols and diesels. Can i ask what you shift it at When i had issues

KIA CARNIVAL Need Opinions

I am considering buying a 2003 Sedona EX with 24000 miles for &03612900. I don&39t know much about the minivan market but would like some opinions. I&39m sure ya&39ll are biased but I would like to know the drawbacks that some have encountered or what I need to look for when buying a used Sedona. Yes I could use the search option but cut me some slack since it&39s my first post and all. Thanks&33

of the world are running 60mpg diesels yet others think anything less than 3.0ltr cc is a weedy little car to do the supermarket trips in. One things&39 for certain....its those who have been running the economical cars that will feel the effects less in another 10 years ) Quoted post Bear in mind that the petrol engine in question (2.5 V6) ISN&39T the engine in the Yankee model. KIA CARNIVAL Oil

Sedona 02 2.9 crdi Auto I had my oil and filter changed yesterday and have just noticed Shell VA 5W40 has been used instead of 10W40 will this do the engine any harm According to the garage its what Shell recomend the engine has done under 35000 miles.

no part come next time and the 2nd time I went sorry ordered wrong side come again next week. So I decided not to go Nissan Dealer any more. Just in Time inventory causes all these problems they may save car dealers but cost customers a lot. However the parts is NOT cheap. e.g. my auto insurance of Kia Sedona 2002 EX is much lower than my Nissan Quest 1994 and I have found out both Nissan and mitsubishi

KIA CARNIVAL Life Expectancy

Anyone have an idea of the life expectancy of a Sedona is Or is it too early in the game to make that assessment By life expectancy I mean how long can I drive my Sedona (with normal maintenance) before either the motor or transmission needs to be rebuilt or replaced I&39ve not been very impressed with all the little crap that keeps breaking on mine and other people are telling me to get rid of it ASAP. I fear I made a bad decision in buying a KIA.

us that as a % of yearly income cars are actually CHEAPER today than at any time since the &3950&39s. What I was actually alluding to was the advances in mechanical efficiency technology & manufacturing standards that mean that things like enginesgearboxesdifferentials last MUCH longer than heretofore. Three examples. 1 my &3976 998 Mini wore it&39s rings out at 100 000 km. 2 my &3985 2.0 litre mitsubishi

FIAT STILO Anyone care to comment or try

Fiat Stillo1.9Jtd --- 147000klms on the clock (approx 92000 miles) Bought new May 2004 left hand drive been driven throughout Europe including the U.K.. Oooooh&33 Touched a nerve there have I I didn&39t say they are &39affiliated&39 with mitsubishi I just said I &39understand&39 the V6 petrol engine fitted to European models is a Mitsi. unit. It is not at all unusual for companies to buy each others parts (major and minor) and stick their own badge on them. Rover in the UK has done this for years with a 1950&39s Buick all aluminium V8 which has found

KIA SORENTO I JC 03 Sorento AWD

Howdy folks My wife drives an 03 Sorento AWD LX and it is acting very strange. When you turn sharp at parking lot speeds as if pulling into a parking spot the car grinds to a complete stop... Infact if I am turning a corner at low speeds I actually have to give it gas so it wont come to a complete stop. Its painful to make those turns because I am afraid Im doing more damage by doing it. I thought

think they were as good as the earlier system. The HIGH TRIM Higlander was AWD (low tech Lexus RX in sheeps cloths) The Highlander I was referring to here was the Hyundai Terracan Highlander httpen.wikipedia.orgwikiHyundai_Terracan - I dont think they were sold in the US just Asia Aust and Europe Middle east. Exact same (petrol) engine and driveline as the Sorento just clothed in a revamped mitsubishi

KIA SEDONA Possibly purchasing a sedona

Well io am thinking about purchasing a new sedona but i have seen mixed reviews. Now i have had many Hyundais and one Kia with no problems but Consumer reports said that there was a reliability issue with the sedonaentorage but it doesnt say what was not reliable. Is it the engine power doors i dont know. Are they just full of it or can anyone enlighten me on any possible problems. Thanks

By the number of engine related problems that the Sedonas seem to have I think that the sooner KIA replace the old design petrol V6 engine [ Originally mitsubishi design although modified ] with a later Hyundai KIA design one the better.
