MERCEDES BENZ CLASS V 6382 Burnt out fuse vito

When I bought the van I found a fused 15A fuse in the door bin. The first time I came to drive it at night with the lights on I noticed the instrument panel wasnt lit up. I later found fuse No. 10 15A had failed under the steering column. Replaced it with one from a pack I bought at Maplins. The next time I drove it at night (which was immediately after I had replaced the flat battery) the cab soon

for instrument lighting licence plate lamp daytime driving lamps (daytime driving lamps - I doubt if this is wired in for the UK although my van was a RHD grey import) and follow them behind the console. Ill look as well as looking for crimpedsoldered in wires. Dont know whether the fuse module can be saved. Ill know once Ive de-soldered the old fuse off and can then taken the cover off. The vito

Heres what I can work out of the wires going into the instrument panel (main colourstripband) LHS socket 2 x redyellow - diagnostic socket brownyellow - brake fluidpads black - earth blue - battery charge 2x white - main beam blackblueyellow - indicator left green - pre glow RHS socket blackbluebrown - indicator right redblue

On my vito 118 the dipped beam on the drivers side (uk) ceased working - checked bulbsconnector but no joy. Eventually found blown fuse - 3rd down on Right Hand fuse block in streering column 15amp blown - replaced it and lamp now works. MERCEDES BENZ CLASS V 6382 Vito 109 need help with lights

Howdy all. I purchased this 109 a year ago i noticed not long after the offside front foglight and mainbeam lights wernt working the indicator on the dash confirmed it. so i fitted new bulbs and re tested much to my dismay still not working so me being a long serving spark thinks no probs check the fuses no fuses. MERCEDES BENZ CLASS V 6382 vito mk1 110cdi dash controls

Hello everyone The next problem in my catalogue of problems with a supposed top brand machine that falls far short of the lesser badges is None of the bulbs in the console swithes and controls work ie. heater temp etc. is this an easy job does the centre panel just pop off. Also as i have no MB manuals can anyone tell me what they all for as the symbols baffle me. Many thanks

Im assuming its the same as my V220 (without the pretend wood) If it is there are a few hidden screws. Pull out the air vents at the top centre of the panel youll find a couple there. Remove the radio & youll see a pair of screws in the recess that need to come out also. Once theyre out the panel should pop out with a bit of gentle persuading. I think thats all the screws but if it refuses to budge dont force it I might have missed something or your panel might be a different design. once youre in you should be able to grub around & find the lamps (mine are little bulbs with a plastic cap at the end whicn fits into the instument with a twist) You can get them from any motor factors so dont even think of going to a main dealer. Thats how to get at the bulbs but its a bit strange that theyre all not working. Might be worth checking the fuses first. Sorry if that sounds obvious. O) I hope that helps Mate. Rob I dont suppose you know about Key synchronisation do you (Just kidding having snags myself & cant believe how obscure mercedes can be at times.)

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS V 6382 Number plate & console lights......popping fuse

Hi everyone i have a 2003 112cdi. The number plate lights stereo illumination & surrounding switches are all run off a 15 amp fuse under the steering column - this fuse keeps blowing the minute i turn the lights on. I have not been messing with any electrics and this problem has just developed. I wondered if anyone else has experienced this if so what was the problem.........if not then i guess its time to hunt for a short circuit. any help always greatly appreciated. jon

haha - you directed em straight to the issue on my heater booster a few weeks back & that is now working perfect. today i have just been to the number plate lamps & yes they were a bit wet inside (such build quality on these vans) so i dried and cleaned all the contacts & replaced the fuse - turned them on and it did not blow what a result so thanks very much for sharing the wisdom - being a vito

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS V 6382 Vito 1996 Fog light switch

I have had a problem with battery losing charge over a couple of days parked up. On investigating a bit I have noticed that my fog lights switch which is like a rocker switch with an up position a down position and a central position central being off. But In the central position it is very sensitive (faulty)and sometimes gives me the audible lights on tone when I remove the key. So for a quick fix

Hi yes you probably could remove a fuse but not a garuntee as merc may have wired the fuse after the switch but before the lamp. Also if its going flat in 2 days with just the switch active but no lights on I would get a battery before the winter sets Dan

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS V 6382 Vito will not start from cold

I write in desperation...............my husband is baffled as to why his vito van CDI 109 will not start when cold. Its 3 years old and hasnt had the problem previously - it almost appears to be an intermittant fault. Infact it has been an excellent vehicle. The ignition key is turned - once light goes out - turned further and there is nothing at all. After a few attempts of turning the key - it normally

A three year old battery should not be too bad could still be the issue. I understood lights are OK but the starter motor does not even try to crank the engine When you say lights are OK did you check the interior lamp and the overhead control panel functionality There is a typical fault at the fuse block where a loose bolt prevents the starter voltage supply.

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS V 6382 Vito 639 headlight problem new SAM

Hi my vitos head lights have stopped working on dipped beam and emergency lighting has been activated (side lights and fog lights) with the bulb replacement warning symbol illuminated on the dash. Full beam still works. later the bulb warning light would illuminate on side lights too with no bulbs actually broken So I check the fuses in the sam under the bonnet fuse 21 is headlights so Ive heard but

I have a 2004 Viano and I had half of my lights working only but all over the place. It turned out to be the lamp module which is a large module under your fuse box in the right hand side of your engine bay (mine is a LHD van)

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS V 6382 Vito 110D Gearbox problem

Hi I have a vito 110D from 97 (210000 km) with the following problems with the manual gearbox. Changing gear is in general not easy. Sometimes it seems like the gearbox is not properly syncronised and you have to disengage the clutch twice to push it into gear. In the winter time the gearbox seems more heavy. The problem seems to have increased for the last couple of months. Is there an easy fix to this problem changing oil in gearbox changing gearbox cable Thank you Michael Denmark

Hi guys brand new to forum hope someone can assist. I have a 2002 vito 112CDI Auto and have the strangest problem.Everything fine until I switch the side lights on and immediately the engine lacks power switch the lights off and all is fine. I have noticed the switch by the gear selector clicks when the lights are switched on even if the engine is running or not. I removed the surround from the gear

Ok been to garage but they couldnt say for sure what was causing the problem. Being slightly depressed I sat on my drive and thought what is I removed the brake lamp fuse in for penny I did that and the original fault has now gone away could anyone tell me if this might point to a brake system fault i.e. brake light switch if that is it how do you change them. Any help gratefully received........................................

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS V 6382 V230 Air suspension question again

Hi After reading all your great advice on this site. can you please help me. Ref v230 TREND just changed the pump and before fitting checked that it worked (second hand pump Dronsfield- 440) Anyway put all parts back together but the pump does not kick in. The flashing light is going like crazy when I press the ENR switch. I thought maybe diconecting the battery terminal would reset but no. Although

Hello mercedes01 The yellow and the blue pipes are mostly OK. Your air bellows should OK too. The are only broken by a mecanical mistake. Go to the fault seach systematic (i hope you know what i mean ) 1. Is your ENR light on 2. Begin your presser to work and the light is flashing 1. You have an electric fault in your system. one of the valves will not seen by the enr control box. there are many
