MERCEDES BENZ CLASS V 6382 Vito 111 CDi Water leak - Urgent

2005 Model 111 Cdi Auto 1900km on the clock less than 2 months old. water leaks out of the radiator reservoir causing low coolent warning light to come on. MB dealer did pressure test replaced thermostat. Problem remains. Cooling system retains high pressure even 12 hours after use - opening reservoir cap causes big release of pressure. vito makes funny noise when cold like very noisy tappets Dealer

Sounds like a faulty engine...cracked head or something. If i was you i would not allow them to pull the engine apart......if the van is only 2 months old you are well within your rights to ask for a replacement van or your money back....... Once they have had the van in bits and attempted to repair with you permission you then remove your rights to have it replaced. Use the old line this product is not fit for the purpose of which it was purchased

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS V 6382 2007 Vito 115 CDI 639 holding (and leaking) water

Hi Guys Appreciate any helpadvice anyone can provide on a water leak from my 2007 vito 115 CDI. I just purchased it and it has been sitting for about 6 weeks in alot of rain prior to me picking it up. From the back of the car ran a heap of

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS V 6382 Vito Leaky rear end

Hi Im new on here but have searched and scrolled through previous threads and couldnt find anything on this so hope someone can help. Ive got a 2001 110 vito and I seem to have water coming in the rear barn doors. (just pulled up the ply floor to find it soaking underneath) As far as I can tell there is some water coming in the top of the rear seal so I will be getting a new one from MB and try to

Mines a tailgate had a leak that used to appear in the LHS corner of the load floor. Nothing much an egg cup or two of water. Traced it to a failed seal on the tailgate switch for the load bay light. On the tailgate its on the top offset to the left rainwater was leaking into strut void through the switch and then dripping out through a hole in strut down onto the floor. Dont know if the light switch

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS V 6382 Vito 115 w639 (2006) Bell housing Coolant leak

Hey Ian Thank you man appreciate it. i found the leak. After i took off the air cleaner i noticed one welsh plug was spewing out water from a pin hole in the inside edge of the welsh plug. Not even where the plug meets the block in the sides.. Go figure. I managed to seal it with some magic metal putty glue (Pratley Putty Metal). Will see in the morning but im hopeful the pin hole is sealed. Was just hard to get to. Regards

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS V 6382 Help replacing water pump on vito 112CDi

Hi can anyone help me I am in the middle of replacing the water pump on my 2000 W-Reg vito 112CDi. I have removed all of the retaining bolts except the one beneath the idler pulley at the back of the pump. How do I get at this one its obscured by the pulley Do I remove the pulley if so how I cant see how its fixed except maybe from behind it with a bolt through the waterpump casting but I cant see

Hi Gary Ive just finished replacing the water pump on my 2000 108 CDI vito..... after a MASSIVE coolant leak. Turned out the bearing inside had completely disintegrated. The idler pulley you mention has a plastic cover in the centre that you can pop off with a screwdriver quite easily this reveals a single bolt that you need to undo allowing you to remove the pulley and get to that final bolt. I managed

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS V 6382 Vito losing through water rocker breather pipe....

Hi can anyone help please. I had the injectors done on my vito 108 cdi and there has been water leaking from the rocker cover breather pipe. I have to fill the radiator every few days.... Any help would be great..as garage has no idea......

I am sorry to say that there is no normal pathway from the cooling system to the rocker cover breather unless it is leaking through the head gasket. Is it coming out looking like it does in the radiator or is it oily and milky

Radiator expansion tank has no pressure. Thanks.

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS V 6382 113 vito oil leak

Greetings from down under. I am new to MB but looking forward to years with a 113 vito Van my son acquired last week. Very comfortable to drive and powerful enough to climb us through the steep winding dirt roads of banana fields and dairy country from Coff Harbour to the inland of New South Wales Australia. We have been fortunate to discover a number of problems like non-operating wipers stuck doors

I have a 113 99 petrol vito get a bright torch and look from under neath to the rear of the block sounds like from either the oil pump or up towards the timing chain tensioner (back of the block) or from around the oil pump. Best thing I guess to do would be to get a couple of good cans of aerosol degreaser and spray the back of the engine and surrounding areas clean and monitor where the leak is coming

Hi Fellows Have spent some time degreasing and running - no sign of oil appears on the RH wheel side where the crankshaft and waterpump etc but definite trickle of oil onto alternator amd CV joint below - I have removed the alternator and tried to move the alternatordriveshaft bracket but RH side bolts foul on the wheel arch. I can see no sign of oil higher up in the engine near the rocker cover. Does

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS V 6382 Vito cab water ingress centre console wet floor wells mats

Hi I moved my 2004 vito off of my grans drive (which is slightly sloped) after it had been raining all night. To my horror as the van moved onto the flat water began to run down into my drivers footwell down the metal from behind the centre console (where the gearstick stereo and heater controls are). My mate has a vito also and also has a problem with water ingress in the cab (wet under the floor

Check to see if the head lining is damp if it has got wet in the past you will see dark stains A porley fitted windscreen can cause a leak aroud the screen and it will start to rot when the water gets in the top it will run down the A posts and cause the floor to get wet next to the doors if it gets in at the bottom it can run down the inside of the bulkhead.

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS V 6382 Vito CDI Water pump (broken)

There was before some screaming sound like belt was flipping but now temp goes over 90 degrees in winter and fan goes on. I take it out that little pipe wich goes to radiator refill tank and make it to clear pipe. Theres no fluid going trough the pipe when car is running only air bubbles and little fluid bobbles. Could it be water pump it not make any bad sound or leaking. Thank you.

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS V 6382 109 Vito

Hello all I have a 2005 reg 109 vito with the recent wet weather i have been experiencing problems with water leaking into the foot-well. It appears to be running down from the back of the dashboard into both the drivers and passengers foot-well. Can anyone advise on a way to solve this issue please Thanks Simon

Ive come across the problem on a couple of 639s (current shape vito) and one of my old 638s. the cause was the same on all of them (but not necessarily the only possible cause)..... the roof channel strips. the first was a 638 that someone drilled through the channels to fit a home made roof rack... so it was quite obvious the others had similar leaks so I looked at the channels and it was the same

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS E III 211 Diesel fuel filter leak story

I have learned so much from this forum so I decided it is time to give some of my experience back. I have E320 CDI 2005. My engine was always starting after max 3 sec cranking. About 3 months ago I noticed an extended starting time. The engine was taking sometimes 7-8-10 sec to start. First I thought this might be normal since I have 110K miles on the car but then I noticed some diesel leak on top

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS V 6382 108 D Losing Water from bottom left of radiator

Morning all My vito has been losing a little bit of water ever since i have owned her (bout 3 months) it has only been a tiny amount so nothing to worry about until yesterday. As you know the sunny uk is a foot under snow Went to pick me lad up from his nans yesterday and had a water problem. The temp gauge kept on climbing but heaters were freezing when i got it onto a petrol station forcourt and

Id say first you need to determine exactly where the leak is - best do this when the engine is hot and the cooling system under pressure so ship your vito to Hawaii where the weather is more favourable than the UK... LOL Kidding aside drive around a bit in 1st gear until the engine gets fully hot then get out yer torch and a cloth and have a good look at where the leak originates. On my radiator down

thats a fairly low mileage vito.... although with most makes it would be end of life. with the noise..... firstly change the gearbox oil either manual or auto..... currently I am using castrol syntrax 75w90 fully synthetic (there are two types either is ok) if manual you need 2ltrs (1.7 capacity)..... you can check the spec on castrols site to get an equivalent. it sounds like you have a couple of

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS V 6382 Vito 112 oil light intermitent

I have a 112cdi 99v vito which i have owned for years now. I am very pleased with the way it drives. However the oil light comes on a lot. When i have the oil changed it will not come on for about a week after and then comes on more and more. It will not come on when the engine is started but maybe a few minutes after. It goes of and on through out the journey. Have checked oil and water levels and

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS V 6382 Vito DIY service

To save money I want to do an air filter oil filter and oil change. Wondering if its easy to do any hints or time saving tips. A recommended oil type and if you need a Merc oil filter wrench or if a standard one would be ok. Many thanks.

Service is pretty straightforward. The oil filter needs the special tool (around a fiver from ebay) because its the paper element type rather than a cartridge and the plastic housing is so soft anything else will wreck it... The air element is straight forward but a pita to get to all of the clips.. I got a fuel filter at the same time but I havent yet had the cahoonas to fit it after reading all of

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS E III 211 High Pressure Side AC Schrader Valve OilFreon Leak-Freon Charge Seems Low Now...

Fellas We purchased this particular 05 E320 CDI around 4 mths ago. When we first got it the AC was perfect-it got cold really quick and exactly what I would have expected from a MB. Since then there have been bouts where when you first start the car and turn the AC on it blows hot air out the vents for 30 seconds and then starts blowing cold air out of the vents as if the compressor wasnt engaged and

Thank you guys for the great insightful help From your input I may first of all clean the schrader valve areas with brake clean and once again verify that it is indeed leaking. I may even use a bit of soap and water while the AC system is on to see if the leak is enough to get beer foam bubbles. Once I am 100% sure that is where the leak is I may attempt a gentle tightening of the schrader valve and

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS V 6382 vito 108 wont start

Hello can any help with this Engine cranks over but will not fire or start. When you spray easy start down the intake or tow above 30 mph the engine starts runs fine ticks over nice and even revs fine. Stop the engine and just will not start even when the engine is hot. Any advice would be great. Thanks Phil.

Its a cdi108. I have removed most of the air intake system to get to the fuel lines to check for leaks. It has just had a new fuel filter (after it broke down) and needed some effort to bleed the system. It will now start with a boster just spins on its own battery and will not start. I have removed the pipe from the air filter to the connection where the pipe heads below the passenger side of the

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS V 6382 Vito 110 engine wont turn over 360

Hi guys following on from my earlier thread httpwww.benzworld.orgforumsv-cl...ter-bolts.html I decided to try and turn the engine manually by turning the crank pulley with a socket wrench before trying to bump start the engine. The bad news is that the engine will not turn 360 it will turn about 34 of the way before it meets some resistance I have tried doing this anticlockwise and clockwise with

Hi ya it might be worth pulling the injectors out and checking that one of the barrels is not full of either diesel or water and its hydraulicing. If one has got a leaking seal it is possible for water to get between the rocker box from the drain on the windscreen and leak into the barrels. Its a long shot and i wouldnt even suggest it but for the fact that i have seen one with this problem. Cheers Martin

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS V 6382 Vito turbo trouble pic included 110cdi

Another issue has arived with my vito. Basicly I have lost all power and boost from my turbo and it will now not over 3000 rpm I am guessing this is limp mode After reading other threads I thought I would have a good look around and I found that the turbo pipe by the bottom of the rad drivers side was covered in oil. I have removed the pipe and I am going to clean it up and see if it is split. When

The hose you have found there is the drain that empties from the valley in the rocker cover. Its there in case the injectors start pissing out diesel from a leaky pipe and to drain water if any collects at the top of the rocker cover its supposed to be disconnected at one end so youre alright there I cant really make out the first photo if you can get a better pic i might be able to help If its hissing

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS V 6382 1st time vito owner

OK guys Just bought a 2nd hand 108cdi 2001 model and have a few stupid questions... Spent a little while trying to figure these things out but then just decided its easier to ask here 1. Where is the compliance plate 2. Is it possible to lock the doors from the inside I can see that when you lock the door with the key there is a little slider bit that changes at the hinge of the handle but cant for

Hi Luke Welcome to the first of a long series of questions youll have about your new Merc In answer to your questions 1. Dunno. Perhaps someone else can enlighten you on that one. 2. Locking the doors is quite easy. Just press the release handle further in towards the door rather than pulling it out as you do when youre opening the door. 3. Regarding the 3 lights on the circular dial if I remember

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS V 6382 Vito Starts then Stops

Aarrgh...... Just got through a small re-build of my 02 110CDI had been driven for over a year with a leaky injector so I found myself confronted with the dreaded coal face did not find it too bad to clean off After several types of injector extractor new wiring loom rocker cover breather and serviced injectors put all the parts back together and Hey presto van starts...... ......But the van starts

I had same problem. If you take off the plastic air manifold you can see the LP fuel lines clearly. After cranking quickly look at the fuel line on the left side of the filter and see if fuel is running back down to the tank. If its fast you got a big air leak slow a little leak. I changed all the seals fiter and 0-rings but missed the water sensor under the fuel filter. I could be the o-ring seal

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS V 6382 W638 Vito head gasket fun

Well the head gasket is definitely knackered in my 113 vito I thought it was using a bit of water then the oil turned into caramel. After a week and a half of struggling to get the head off with sheared torx bolts and trying to get certain tools locally (small country town with crap tool merchants) and that stinking timing chain shield retainer it is finally off. I have since found the manifold cracked

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS V 6382 Vito Ownership experiences - one year on....

After buying my vito over a year ago I thought I would share my experiences of ownership during this time as it was this forum that I received tips and advice re buying a second hand vito. To see the van I bought see my original post over a year ago httpwww.benzworld.orgforumsv-cl...mlpost3352420 2001 mercedes vito 112 CDi Dual Liner. So an update on the van.... I have now had the van for well over

I have 2 of them The first a 113 manual didnt touch it for 4 years ran great no rust thought I would start looking after it this year and this is what happened Both front brake hoses split I had a brake flush 1 month before. Radiator was leaking so I fixed it (2 years later ) this caused the water pump to fail and 2 hoses to split over heat probably my fault now I have a head gasket problem. And the

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS V 6382 Vito van 108 53 plate idling and smoke

Hope to get a good answer for this and hopefully not generic. Not long bought the van as a non runner as it entered water and didnt start. After pulling it with my wagon to get it started there was lots of smoke but it all went. The vito van has white smoke when it starts then dissapears completly after a few minutes of driving. Coil light was on only to find the red wire was not connected to the coil

Sounds like an air-leak somewhere if wont start when hot. Other problem area could be loss of common rail fuel pressure would point towards leaky pressure regulator valve. Make sure electrical connection to that switch on end of raillheader is clean & tight. I have seen so many problems with corroded electrical plugs and connectors from the Polish Arab jet-wash wishy-washy brigade its un-true. Worst

my vito was going along fine then had a loss of power the it came back for a few seconds then died had to get towed home seems fuel related i have removed fuel filter and it had fuel in it cant see any leaks anywhere any ideas is there any way to test the pumps any help would be great finding info on anything to do with this van is a nightmare have been searching the site but cannot find what im looking for.

Hi ya the things that cause edcs are air in the fuel which could be the pressure reg seals fuel filter seal leaking injector (diesel line) bad connection on one of the injectors (electric connector) brake light switch water in the fuel leaking fuel pump and it goes on and on. The only way to diagnose is to go through everything. The pressure reg seals are easy to do and are cheap. It could be the little

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS V 6382 Vito 639 115cdi van rear wiper motor runs continually

I have a 2005 vito 639 115cdi crew cab and after pressing the rear wiper switch on the dash last week the wiper motor now runs continually. The only way to stop the motor was to remove the 30 amp fuse (fuse 7). Each time I press the rear wiper switch on the dash now the red LED goes on and off so I suspect the switch is fine. Does anybody have an idea what the problem could be Is there a relay that controls the rear wiper motor . Thanks in advance Tony

Did you find out what the problem was My 2005 Viano has the same problem now but mine has had a mystery washer fluid leak for the last 12 months that we havent managed to track down which lends weight to zenmans water damage answer.

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS V 6382 vito 108d coolant problem

Hi guys any help would be very much appreciated My 97 r reg vito 108d has a coolant problem Basicly it starts fine drives fine and doesnt smoke. The heater is hot inside. But the coolant system builds up pressure if i leave it running for a long time it gets up to just below 80 degrees on dash but fan doesnt cut in and the main coolant pipe is rock solid Feels like it could burst. Any ideas guys surely this couldnt be thermostat or a cap problem bleeding any help would be truely grateful

Have you checked for any water leaks it will only take a slight weep to lose coolant that over a few days could add up to noticable amount. the other thing you could do is take off the header tank cap and start the engine and see if blows coolant out or there are lots of bubbles or oil in the coolant Cheers Martin

ive tried bleeding it and no differncea minor water leak wouldnt cause the system to pressurise like that

The system is meant to be under pressure water boils at a higher temperature when it is pressureised thus the pressure cap on the rad if it was building too much pressure the cap would release and it would blow coolant out but it wouldnt be a little bit it would be a lot. With the engine cold fill up the header tank and then with the cap off start the engine if there are loads of bubbles or it blows
