The engine (in European specs) have 224 hp and 510 Nm from 1.600-2.900 rpm (510Nm is more than 370 lb-ft but I do not know the correct lb-ft no). I have a 2002 slk 230K 11000 miles. Unfortunately I have the problem with the diesel sound 1000-2000 revs. with warm engine. As I understand itÂs the variable camshaft timing sensor causing this noise (wrong tolerances). IÂve read some old posts on this topic on these forum but I have not got a clear picture if MB has got a working cure for the problem.
