MERCEDES BENZ CLASS S IV 220 S500 Limo rear seats recline

Hi Is it possible to recline the rear seats Both doors have the back rest buttons however the left one does nothing and the right one is rock solid. The user manual does not make reference to rear seat recline. Thanks

You have buttons separate from the window lift buttons on the back doors Active rear seats were optional (and expensive) on the s500 as was rear controls for the AC. It might be active rear seats and read air were standard on the long wheel base versions in the UK but all W220s (except for a few SWB 6 cylinder versions) imported into the US were long wheel base. The rear seat recline feature is a bit

Hi my rear seats have the same seat controls like the front (ie head rest back base). However the back ones dont work. The manual shows no reference to the back ones working hence I thought maybe they were just blanks

My S600 has the reclining rear seats. The entire seat icon is there but it is only the seat bottom that slides back and forth. The bottom of the seat back being attached to the back edge of the seat cushion moves back and forth with the the seat cushion. The seat back moves down as the seat bottom is moved forward giving the seat a reclined position.

I was golfing the other day and I over stuffed my trunk. I now cannot get it open by the usual means. It makes the noise that it is trying but will not open. Do the rear seat come down in any way

Forget about access through the rear seat. Your fuel tank is in the way. I wish I could suggest a method but nothing comes to mind. Sorry. Tower

I was able to get it open finally. After trying for 3 days. Thanks

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS S IV 220 2005 S500 Front Seat removal for Lumbar airline repair

I just purchased a 2005 s500 4matic and there is a leak in the air system under the drivers seat. I can see a red line with what looks like the male section of a fitting inside the end. It hangs loose and not surprisingly blows air to nowhere. I disconnected the 20 fuse under the rear seat to find this out and it has since shut itself off again. Does anyone have any positive experiences or advise to

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS S IV 220 Rear Seat Belt Caution

I have a 2005 s500 but because this situation arose from the design of the rear seat child restraint system it is probably applicable to other models and years. First what happened was my own fault. My dealership offered to try to get the situation fixed under warranty - but very simply it was my own fault so I did not request that they do. [(] For years I have secured a medium-sized pet carrier in

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS S IV 220 please help me identify the rear seats ecu

Hey guys i had some water damage underneath the passenger rear seat area. I removed the seat and i found out the ECU and the fuse box was wet. One box looks like an ecu its metal the other one has all fuses in it. I unplugged the wires from them and dried them out. But i believe these both units are shot. I cannot seen to identify them on car-part.com is it (computer box engine) or (not engine) btw

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS S IV 220 Rear Seat Belt question.

2000 s500 rearPassenger side seat belt is retracted all the way into the carrier and will not allow it to be pulled out. I would like to remove the pillar and do a preliminary check on whyhow it is stuck and if i can remedy it. I have seached seemingly all keywords and havent found how to remove the pillar in the rear. I dont want to pull on them randomly and break anything. Would appreciate a little guidance. Thanks in advance.

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS S IV 220 2000 S500 passenger seat & window not working

After a bad rain my passenger seat controls switch illumination automatic door closer and power window stopped working. I have tested all the fuses and they are all good. I removed the door panel and removed the switch module and opened it and found no signs of water damage. Where else should I look Any help is appreciated.

check the passenger floor....did the water get to the rear SAM

If memory serves there are a few SAMs through out the car. They interface to the data buses so control alot of the equipment. The one Im thinking of is under the rear seat fuse panel and was subject to numerous claims when the drain in the engine compartment (biggish box in front of the wipers passenger side) plugs with debri and overflows directly into the vehicle. Search the site for other posts related to flooded vehicles.

Your profile is not complete which makes it rather hard to give exact answers so I will have to assume some things. If this is a left hand drive then the rear sam and fuse box is under the rear seat on the passengers side. In the rear footwell you can simply pull out the little floor light lense and behind this is the fuse box. To get to the SAM Signal Acquistion Module you will have to remove the

Just in case youre about to wonder To get the rear seat out is meant to be quite simeple. Im about to duck out and try it myself. I just read there are some push in buttons tabs on the bottom of the seat on either side. Simple push them in on each side and its meant to come out quite easily. I need to get in there in an attempt to find the phone unit that was just mentioned. Also the VIN in .au cars

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS S IV 220 S500 4matic interior rear mirror

Ive just recently acquired the s500 after we wrote off our 430 Cabriolet. I love the car but trying to program the interior rear view mirror is driving me nuts. Ive tried what I think the owners manual instructs but havent had any success. Can anyone direct me to a place on the site that will help me Thanks for your help - Bob

First manually position the interior rear view mirror. Then re-save your seat position in accordance with the owners manual. The interior rear view mirror settings are saved together with the seat and outside rear view mirror positions. The electric interior rear view mirror was discontinued in later models - I dont recall which year but my 05 does not have the feature even as an option. Its a shame - my 00 had it and it simplified matters when the wife drove the car.

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS S III 140 1995 s500 w140 replace rear window speakers

As noted in the title I have a 1995 s500 w140 4door and I would like to replace the rear windows speakers but I dont know how to remove them can anyone assist with this task I took off the top covers but cant figure out how to get beyond that.

its a hard task to do. You need to remove the rear seats completely remove the c pillars remove the first aid box then remove the rear deck shelf and then you can remove the speaker. It is about 2-4 hours labor to remove it yourself depending on your skills. the seat is held with 6 bolts (10mm) and the rear head rests need to be unplugged then I cant tell you how to remove the c-pillar properly because

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS S IV 220 Cant find the rear seat fuse box

I have a 2000 S320 and I know I blew the radio fuse. I have read the forums and found where all the fuse boxes are and the charts. However I cannot find the one located in the right rear passenger seat. None of the boxes located there look like a fuse box and none of them look like I can really remove the top. I may take a picture of what it looks like if it is needed. I am trying to install a custom stereo. I did remove the rear protective plate as well and I still dont see it Chad

Unless your S320 is different from the same year s500 and S430 it is behind the courtesy light in the vertical wall below the seat itself. The light cover (the larger portion not just the clear lens) pops out to reveal the fuse box.

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS S IV 220 01 S500 Entire Rear Floor CarpetMat

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS S IV 220 Rear Ventilated Seats

Just curious about the rear seats for some s classes. My uncle got a s430 and his rear seats have the holes in them. I have the ventilated seats also but i have the rear power seats heat and cooled. But he does not have this. So why are the ventilated is it for a purpose or just to match the front seat ventilation

I know just because when I bought it that it had a few more options than my brothers and he had a black interior and was not as soft. Mine is Blueishash and it is so soft even my color is iridium blue Changes colours in day and sorta a silver at night. I was told napa is an upgrade on the S430 as you go to s500 you get more options as standard and the S600 even more . Not just the engine difference.

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS S IV 220 2000 s500 questions on 22 rims OTHER question as well

So I just bought this car from my buddies mom...It was a deal I really couldnt pass up being that she was about to trade it in and she was the original owner. It is a black 2000 s500 designio pkg. I am trying to put asanti 22 inch staggard rims that i had from my s550 on it. I was told from the tire and wheel guy that I had to have some kind of bolt and nut cut down on front a arms for them to fit.

Do not put wheels from a S550 on a s500. I just got 22s on mine and was looking at some wheels and my guy who is one of the countries top Rim dealers pushed me away from those wheels. They are NOT compatable. You will run into nothing but problems if you modify. Yu can do staggered wheels but get the correct offset. Dont buy any rims your dealer has in stock and he is just trying to sell them. Order them right You can also order regular wheels and put a spacer on the rears. Thats the route I am gonna go. My 22s fit perfectly with no mods. You are going to have a very small tire. Whats a good deal as you say about your purchase. I just bought about 2 months ago. I have a 2001 S-500 with 52K miles. Mine has every option heated- AC seats power massage seats power rear shade rear heated seats and came with 18 chrome AMGs. My S is in Pristine condition with no problems what so ever. It wasnt really the color I would have picked if I was out car shopping but it was very attractive considering what I paid for it. I do custom work for a high end dealership. Im good friends with the owner. The car was just traded in on a Lexus and the owner asked me if I wanted to buy the car for what he gave the customer for it. I gladly accepted Heres the link to the thread that has pics of my S-500 with the 22s. You can see how thin the tires are. Theres also pics of the custom navigation unit I just put in httpwww.benzworld.orgforumsw220...ouble-din.html

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS S IV 220 Am I crazy 07 E350 for 03 S500

Am I crazy for even entertaining the thought of trading my 07 E350 non-sport 49k miles for an impeccable 03 s500 non-sport with 52k miles The thing is Ive had a C350 ML350 and now an E350 but Ive always wanted an s500 but I live in an area where used S-classes are hard to come by much less an s500 in good shape. However Ive found a one-owner s500 owned by a Colonel in the military (I point this fact

a heavy car even my S430 really gets up and goes. My 07 E being fully loaded has more comfort features than my S430 (which is pretty much basic trim). The E has the panoramic roof wood steering wheel heated seats in dash cd changer (versus being in the trunk on the S). MERCEDES BENZ CLASS S IV 220 03 S500 4matic or 03 s600

I was looking at a few 03 S-class cars. The ones that I am looking at are the ones in the title. Is there much difference between the two models I know there is some power difference and all that but can you really tell Are there a lot more options on the S600 vs the 500 Ive heard to always go as new as you can and that is about as new as I can.

Its a year thing. See httpwww.benzworld.orgforumsw220...-look-out.html . Same is true for the S600 though it will still be generally more expensive to maintain than an s500 or S55. The electrically controlled rear seats are an option on the s500 (and arent common). I believe the Designo has them.
