MERCEDES BENZ CLK I 208 Windscreen washer jet under bonnet keeps detaching

Hi all When I need to clean the windscreen the jet keeps detaching itself from the plastic outlet underneath the bonnethood. Once detached I cant get any water from either jets. I can attach the jet back on but every time I need to clean my windscreen it keeps detaching. Has anyone got any ideas how to remedy this I was thinking to glue the jet on but wanted to check if anyone else has a fix for this. Picture has been attached if Im not expressing myself clearly. Thanks.

I had the same problem. Try using a needle to clean out the washer nozzles. There might be some build up that causes a back up of pressure which might cause the hoses to disconnect. If that doesnt work (it didnt work for me) what I did was use a black piece of tape to hold the nozzle in place and that has held up for the past 6 months.

I thought of that but since there was no sound comming off at all I didnt think it was the problem. But ill still try to clean it see what happens thx...

MERCEDES BENZ CLK I 208 Headlight & Washer Woes

Hi everyone I have a (recently new to me) 1999 clk 320 with factory installed Xenons. I have a couple of problems and subsequent questions Im hoping the experts may be able to shed some light on (no pun intended P) - My Xenon headlamps are intermittent in their startup. Usually both will fire up however sometimes only one will (either side). If I turn the car off and back on it usually corrects and

Hi Alex You can remove the telescoping nozzle without removing the bumper. Buy the Alldata or Star classic service CD and follow the instructions. I had the same problem but gave up to do the repair. There is very litlle room to work in bettween the engine head lights and other parts. If you want to try pull the nozzle cover toward front and unclip it from the telescoping nozzle.Unscrew the screw

MERCEDES BENZ CLK I 208 Windshield washer fluid not working

My windshield washer fluid is not spraying when I push the handle. Could the hose be blocked

I had a similar problem last winter. It turned out there was what appeared to be some sort of plastic film lodged inside the nozzles. The only thing I can think of is someone (PO) wasnt careful with the windshield washer fluid and probably dropped stuff from its cover into the tank. Then it probably went through the pump and got lodged in the nozzles. If this is your problem it was a pain in the ass

I should mention one thing is the pump working If it is than continue on to the nozzles. Disconnect the hoses at the nozzles and make sure there is flow coming out of hoses so that you know 100% its the nozzles. Once that is confirmed the nozzles just clip out of the hood. When I did it it was -20 to -30 degrees Celcius so I never found a way to unplug the wiring for the nozzle heaters that is ultimately what made it a pain in the ass.

MERCEDES BENZ CLK I 208 Headlight Washers with Projectors

OK Guys I finally got my projectors installed. It took me a while because I only get the opportunity to work on my car on the weekends and was out of town on Easter weekend. Anyway theyre all installed and I love them. Will post pics once weather gets better. Now as promissed for those of you who gave up your headlight washers I figured out how to keep them. It didnt require fabricating any new brackets

Hey da guitarist Once you get the bracket mounted the washer itself can slide in the bracket so that you can insert the screws that attaches it to the bumper. You might even have to pull on the nozzles and pull them out of the washer housing. Once everything is put back together I had a time getting the washer covers back on also. What I ended up doing was take a length of twine and lassoo the two

MERCEDES BENZ CLK II 209 Windshield washers on the fritz

Having owned my 04 clk 500 for a month the windshield washers have gone on the fritz. The left one spits out just enough water to reach the top edge of the hood the right one is not putting out anything at all. They used to work just fine. The fluid is topped off. Any likely suspects I can check out before waiting for my next dealer visit Thanks in advance.

I cant tell of theres a problem with a washer hose because the hoses run through the hood. Looking from the underside there are two clips that are visible. If I remove those two clips will I be able to lift out the ventgrilllouver panel at the top of the hood where the washer nozzles are I wont have a chance to do this for a couple of days so I figure the more I know in advance the better. When I run

Have you checked to see if some wax or something else has blocked the holes You might want to try to clean out the nozzle with a thin wire or something.

MERCEDES BENZ CLK II 209 Headlight washers

I recently bought a 2006 clk it came with standard lights so no Xenons. Yet it has headlight washers under the headlights. How do I get them to work I looked and I looked and I havent found a button to activate them Thanks in advance.

The pop-up nozzles work strictly via the fluid pressure. First try to pull up on them gently to make sure they arent just stuck in place from car wax and road grime. If neither of then work and you get no drips of water when you try to operate them then its probably a bad pump (otherwise trace the drips for a bad hose). The pump is located at the bottom of the fluid reservoir and there are separate

MERCEDES BENZ CLK I 208 HEADLIGHT WASHER COVER...ne1 have one

ok so i dono if my driver side headlight washer cover sumhow flew off or if sum1 jacked that shit jus ta b an asshole.....but regardless...its missin n i need one cuz it looks retarded with jus an empty black hole in my bumper now......anyone happen have one maybe from a bumper they swapped out or somtin or anyone know if the dealer even sells that peice by itself

the best way is to have someone activate the washers while you stand in front of the car. Grab the nozzle when it comes out to keep it from retracting back in and snap the thing on using the top and bottom connectors. Easy as pie.

MERCEDES BENZ CLK II 209 washer fault intermittant

my windscreen washers always take 3 presses of the stalk to get any water. i suspect a non return valve or pump fault. where is the non return valve

Do you hear (or feel) the pump start on the first press of the stalk You may need a helper for this test. It looks like you may have to re-new those clips (clamps) ... Here are the WIS pages for 1. removing the grille (grate) 2. removing nozzles

MERCEDES BENZ CLK I 208 CLK 320 windshield 0 fluid pressure

Just bought the car and drove it home 1400 miles with no fluid pressure at all what should I look for Fuses are fine so not sure what to trouble shoot.

Can you hear the pump operating If so you probably need to inspect the tubes leading to the jet nozzles below the windshield for any blockage or breaks. If the pump is operating is the water appearing under the car If not either the switch the pump or the windshield washer relay is toast. Check the relay as follows Go to Drivers side (left) in the engine compartment and locate the fuse & relay box and remove the covers. On the relay panel you should locate relay B (K402k3) windshield washer relay. You should hear (feel) the relay operating if someone operates the switch. If you also have the HCS (headlamp cleaning system) for washing your headlamps there will also be relay E (K40k5) HCS relay in place. Maybe you can swap these over to see if one is faulty.....Im not sure if they are identical. For a view of the layout of the relay panel go to this thread and find the pdf for K402. httpwww.benzworld.orgforumsw208...-location.html

I had the same problem on mine. What I discovered in my case was it appears someone dropped the clear plastic seal from the top of the washer fluid jug in to the reservoir and it got sucked into the pump shredded and ended up clogging all four nozzles. Had to pull both hoses off at the nozzles and then feed a very fine wire into each of the four nozzles to push it out. It was actually a tedious little

MERCEDES BENZ SLK R170 CLK320 vs Boxster

Hi guysbr br Just wanted your opinions. I currently have a SLK230 and a C280. I am thinking of replacing trading in the C280 with either a clk or a Boxster. I have not owned anything other than a MB and am a little hesistant venturing out also because of the lack of trunk space with the Boxster.br br What do you guys think Thanks in advance.br

Youre right changing the oil isnt all that hard though a lift or ramps really are needed as you wont get all the oil out by jacking the car up. Heres a list of other things they dobr br Diagnosis system Read out fault memory br Underside of vehicle and engine compartment Visual inspection for leaks (oils and fluids) and chafing (wires lines and hoses) br Power-assisted steering Check fluid level br

MERCEDES BENZ CLK II 209 Need Some Advice On CLK Problems

To make a long story not short I purchased what was to be a Certified 2005 clk500 with right under 25000 miles a month ago. Unfortunately Ive run into quite a few problems with it driving under 1k miles so far and probably a total drive time of 1 week. The rest of the time it has been in the repair shop. Has anyone had a similar experience purchasing a pre-owned clk I bought it at Fletcher Jones MBZ

Just so I fully understand the problem you go and look at a car. It looks OK. You test drive the car. It drives OK. You bring the car home and within seven days of usage the car transforms into a heap of junk in front of you. The car starts pulling to the right a rim got bent the passenger seat broke the brakes started squeaking the glove box started squeaking the trunk started squeaking the weather

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS M W163 Headlight washer plastic piece

Sorry to bother with such a seemingly simple problem. I cant seem to find a replacement plastic piece that covers the headlight washer. Its ugly without it. Thanks in advance Hilton

I understand the nozzle has to protrude to spray the lense cover once activated but what makes them so darned flimsy MLs are OK but my wifes clk has one that is loose feeling can almost toggle it. Im mindful of that when I wash it. Can they be retightened or something. Oh & love your chrome rims

MERCEDES BENZ CLK I 208 CF Hood Install

Any Diy thread on install Just got my carbon fiber hood but Im not sure how to install the damn thing. I dont want to bring it to the shop cuz I obviously cant fit it in the car. Any help would be awesome thanks in advance. Oh yea and Ill post pics once I install it along with the new black projectors side mirrors tinted tails and new grill in a week or two.

I dont like the cf hoods that are available for our cars. They are flimsy and fitment is not that great. Its easy to swap you just need to unbolt the attatchemnt point ond the old hood and put them on the new one. You also have to swap over the windshiweld washer nozzle and lines.

MERCEDES BENZ CLK I 208 Okay to wash my engine

I have always kept a like new clean engine in my cars. Our newly acquired 430 while pristine inside and out it appears that no one has ever cleaned the engine and I am somewhat concerned with the idea of washing the engine. I read somewhere on this forum that someone washed their engine got water into either the MAF or TPS and then could not get the car started. My question is is it okay with reasonable

Id be very careful about using that cleaner. Its super corrosive to aluminum. A Citrus base cleaner will safely dissolve greaseoil and wont hurt paint or bare metals like valve covers. Theres alot to choose from. Simple Green Oil earter......but its always smart to put a plastic bag over your alternator and yes I use a pressure washer with a fan head spray. I also pull off the whole air filter case
