MERCEDES BENZ CLK I 208 Rear Suspension on my 99 430

Hey Guys... Have a question... My rear suspension seems pretty soft and when I have passengers in the back seat the rear actually squats a couple inches and infact actually with the wheels Im running actually touch the inside wheelwell when hitting a fairly mild dip or bump in the road. My question is this.. I reallt dont care to lower the car with Lowering springs as I like the ride height(at least

Hey Im not as knowledgable as others on here but from what Ive read if you want a smoother ride you could change your whole stock suspension with coilovers and springs. But it seems you just want to replace your springs. I have an 01 clk-430 and a lot of people like the Eibach springs so its up to you. Not sure. Hope I helped.

My car does the same thing. My tires are rubbing like mad. The suspension is soft to begin with I read but I didnt own it new so I dont know what soft is. my 8 year old springs and shocks need to go but i dont want to lower the car either. Whats a guy to do

MERCEDES BENZ CLK I 208 Can anyone Suggest STIFF Suspension Springs

I think when I first got the car it was stiff as a rock on the road. Now i noticed it has a bounce ove the bumps. Does anyone have any recommendations for stiff springs or should I just buy new stock springs. I thought about an AMG suspension kit but Im just asking for opinions. Im not looking to sit it on top of the wheels or slam it. I dont really like that look. If you can help me I appreciate it. Thankyou in advance.

MERCEDES BENZ CLK I 208 problem with rear tires leaning in after lorinser springs installed

i have a 00 clk 430 cabrio which i installed lorinser springs only to have my rear tires lean in to the point they are rubbing the inner wall of my car. my rims are only 18x9 amg. i had h&r springs first with the same problem. i see other clks with a drop and no problems. can anybody tell me how to rectify the problem

You need to have the camber corrected on your car. Try to find a suspension specialist to adjust them. I had the same problem when I lowered my 430. Mark

I did not take my car to the dealer to have this adjusted. I took it to a suspension specialist in Miami called Miami Chassis where they specialize on performance vehicles and correct issues like the bowed rear wheels. I had them all adjusted. Believe me there is two degree adjustment that my car had and I can see the difference. I even have the diagnostic sheet breaking down where it was and where it is now. Mark

MERCEDES BENZ CLK I 208 H&R SPRINGS CLK320 vs. CLK320 CAB

WILL H&R springS FROM A 2002 clk320CAB Fit a 2002 clk320COUPE. I know they have different part numbers with a little different on the drop but besides that will they fit Anyone know what spring pads come stock on a 2002 clk320cab vs clk320 coupe

Not sure why youd go a cabrio spring they are meant for a slightly heavier car and dont lower the car as much. Its close like but not what its designed for. spring pads use is more a matter of visual taste. How low do you want to go If your usin cabrio H&Rs your gonna be at a huge disadvantage because theyre taller all around more so in the rear. If your doin this because its doesnt cost much skip it. Save your money. Buy Coupe springs. After parkin next to a fellow clk lowered Coupe youll see why. mercedes-benz suspension Applications H&R Special springs LP

They brought the front down nicely but not to extreme as I still want to be able to drive it without shitting my pants about rubbing etc. spring pads are cheap and can be bought at any mercedes

MERCEDES BENZ CLK I 208 Lowering Spring question

I just recently put 19s on my clk55 and would like to lower it. After doing some research the only viable spring to put on my car is H&R sport springs. This will lower it 1.0 inch in the front and .9 in the rear. Before I do this I will definitely buy the 99 E Class 1 pad and go with either stock or clk 3 pad for the rear. Does this lowering require a camber kit or with the clk55 should I replace the shocks and struts as well Any other suggestions for the suspension

MERCEDES BENZ CLK I 208 Need Advice on Ride Height - Rear Sits Lower than Front. Phoenix Area Shop Recs

Hello all I am new to the forum and this is the first post from me. I am a proud owner of a black 2002 clk320 I was wondering if any of the members here from the Phoenix area could recommend a shop to perform some work on my car Sadly I know very little about fixing cars and I would rather leave it to a pro that I could trust. The main problem I have is rear SITS LOWER THAN THE FRONT - I put 18 TSW

Hey guys I appreciate the advice. Seems like many of you are suggesting to lower the car with new springs and adjust the height with spring pads. I spent a good part of the weekend reading about lowering the clk and honestly it seems like there are too many things to purchase in order to do the job right (springs shocks camber kit etc) and this will cost . The thing is I am not necessarily looking

MERCEDES BENZ CLK I 208 Can springs be installed backwards

Can springs be installed upside down (accidentally) A few months ago I replaced my front LCAa and also replaced with new front springs. Did nothing to the rears. All stock OEM configuration not lowered just stock. As prep for the job I read many many postings and never came across any comment or info Re. a top or bottom to a spring or any info that they could be installed upside down. I did notice

Hi Pancho I discovered that you can install springs upside with no issues by mistake When I was installing my Eibachs the rear sat a little too high so I had to play around with different spring pads to get it just right (The rears springs are easy to work on as you get remove the springs without special tools). So I finally got the rear height perfect but noticed that on one side the car sat higher
