How does in your opinion the C43 AMG compare perfromance wise to the clk430 I raised this question on another board and was promptly advised that the C43 is not really an AMG and there is for the most part no difference between the two cars with respect to performance. I have owned both and can say that there is a noticeable difference.

The differences between the C43 and the clk430 are 1 Obviously gross vehicle weight. 2 C43 uses the 55 AMG air intake system good for 15 to 20 hp 3 The gears in the C43 are 3.07 while the clk uses 2.80 theres your acceleration factor. The physical intake manifold (the aluminum one) is the same on both cars. camshafts are the same hell whole motor is identical to the one in the coupe.

If you check the parts lists... Josh R is correct that the intake manifold is not modified. He is incorrect that the camshafts are the same. AMG modified intake system refers to the whole system not just the manifold. Thus the air intake and camshafts are modified. Also 15-20hp from the AMG intake is just ludicrous. Just signed up to the forum was looking for some advice. Im coming out of an 05 G35 Coupe and am looking at two 08 clk550. One CPO 12k miles for 35k (no NAV) the other non-CPO 22k miles 34k (with NAV). IMHO only - we just purchased an 08 clk550 wP3 so its sort of fresh in my mind. I looked for 11 months before I found the car I wanted from a dealer - You looking for a Convertible You didnt say. Only buy this sort of car from an MB dealer. At this age the dealer will probably have a CPO (Certified Pre Owned) extension on the car - but only if its an MB dealer. Showroom warranty on these cars is 3yrs50k

Hi everyone Can any one help I am having to do various diy on my 2001 230k clk due to oil contamination in the breather system ( and anywhere else it can find its way to)which originated from the camshaft. Anyway along the way we have found one of the four seals that seal around the spark plug holders ( not sure of technical term) is leaking. Hi I am getting P0014 error on a 07 clk350 which had the gasket on the right side changed recently. Can you guys give some suggestions as to how can this be fixed Are there any timing marks diagrams and camshift positions available so I can verify the chain has been inserted correctly

B camshaft Position - Timing Over-Advanced or system Performance (Bank 1) Swap the camshaft position sensors between banks and clear the fault code and see if the fault comes back on the other bank If it does change the sensor if it comes back on bank one after this swap then the timing is out. It may also be the dreaded balance shaft problem.

Are these the symptoms of needing a new fuel pump-turning the key engine cranks but does not fire. After multiple operations of key car starts. If this is it do I need a new fuel pump

This could be a number of things To start the engine you need a) fuel b) sparks c) ignition timing control. If the car runs fine once started I dont see how the fuel pump & fuel filter system can be the problem. Its more likely to be in the favorite area of sensors. Maybe the MAF the crankshaft pos sensor or the camshaft pos sensor You can run the car without the MAF to see if that makes any difference to starting.

I have to admit that my suggestion of the camshaft Hall sensor would not affect the fuel level indicator - or other displays on the Instrument Cluster. You have such diverse systems failing together that it is useless us giving you suggestions here. As has been stated above get your car looked at by somebody with the right tools to diagnose module faults.

Every morning the car starts ok but it shakes at every red light only if it is in gear. this morning the engine just shut off at a light. 10 minutes of trying to turn on the engine and alot of honking the engine turned on. Or you can put a turbo on yours like deyainrdy4ds did to his 430 but the shop is in Indiana. You could get your ECU tuned by PowerChip Custom AirIntake Exhaust system Headers Pulleys You could put on a Kleeman SuperCharger and camshafts. I think those mods would be more exciting because they are rare finds on a 320 if any. Personally if you go the route of buying another car I personally recommend a 2004-2005 SL55.

I have 2000 clk320. When the car sits over night it will not start in the morning. It just turns over and over. Fuel pump filter and relay have been replaced. About a year ago I broke and replaced the Brake Booster Vacuum Hose. Too get the car started I pushed in on the vacuum hose where it goes into the air intake. The car starts. Next day no start. Could a loose brake booster vacuum cause the car not to start. Thanks
