Please help If that motor worked for one month then it was the correct motor for your car if it were the wrong motor then it would not have worked at all. The reason that your motor failed may have been because the wiper mechanism was not lubricated as illustrated in the video below OR the wiper was turned on while the wiper blade was frozen or snowed to the windscreen. Maintenance viper on a mercedes
gear attached to the motor (that you cannot buy anywhere separately) that is generally the culprit. Also there is some fogginess on terminology on the net for wipermotorarmtransmission. For the nominal cost of the motor (which comes complete with transmission) its probably just worth it to just replace it. Im now working on two other items. From my research one that is somewhat inherent in 96-00 mercedes
reason to ever adjust nut 1. There is an alignment mark on this part that shows you where the factory put the park position. Hi Jonzbenz my name is Dec I am the original author of the 2 pictures in the above post 6 . Sounds like youve got maybe more than one issue. Quote .....Currently the most annoying of which is the wiper motors.... Theres only one motor for the for the pair of front windscreen wipers. Or are you talking about a rear wiper too Most of your other stuff seems to be surrounding front wipers so well start there. One wiper motor. Quote .....Basically when they are switched on they dont work i have to get out and move the arms manually to get them to start up. The passenger side one seems worse and is lying very low on the screen when stopped..... Hmm... You shouldnt be able to move the wipers much at all (through their normal arc of travel) with the motor switched off. If you can then its likely some portion of the linkage is worn out. The main culprit is usually the bushings where the wiper shafts go through the cowl. The propblem could also be in the parking mechanism inside the motor though so heres how you tell the difference. If you look up inside the left side (driver in the USA) footwell way up high you should see the wiper motors shaft sticking through the bulkhead with about a 2 long flat bar of metal bolted to the motor shaft and the wiper motion mechanism attached to the other end of that bar. Remove the nut attaching the bar to the motor shaft and pull the bar off the shaft then try to start and stop your wipers a few times. If you can see the motor shaft turn when you start the wipers and stop when you stop them and its very reliable then its a cinch that theres too much resistance in the mechanism for the motor to overcome so it cant get started. If the motor alone doesnt start and stop reliably then the problem is either within the motor or in the elecrical system. In order to daignose that part you have to wait for teh next no-start then remove the plug from the motor and check for proper voltages there. If you find them and teh motor doesnt run then you need to replace the motor. Its not hard. After pulling the arm above its just 3 bolts easily accessible under the hood to remove the motor. R&R about a 40 minute job. If theres no power to the motor during your no-start conditions then look into the relay or the stalk switch. But theres a lot of ground to cover between there and where you are now. And yes you can adjust the wipers to stay on the glass by just prying up the base end of the wiper arm to disclose the nut beneath the cover that holds the wiper arm on the shaft. Remove the nut and then pull the arm off the splined shaft. At this point youll also have a chance to check the shafts to see if theyre a good fitin their bushings or if the bushings are worn out. Getting water in the footwells when it rains is also a good sign that wiper shaft bushings are worn out. Some info on wipers here httpwww.benzworld.orgforumsforu...ts19&hlwiper -Dave G.
air to the vents is either missing or dont line up with the LHD dash. So the air ends up coming from places they shouldnt - ashtray stereo aperture onto your feet only etc. Of course the wiring is also an issue - Ive had emails with pictures where the cars have been so poorly converted its a wonder they havent set the cars alight Most recent was a lady client of mine who exported her 2006 mercedes
benzoline I would say ordinary multi purpose grease as there should be no water ingress if the turtle shell and the piston cover are fitted properly. Joesid I think you need to grease the mechanism under the turtle shell as if it starts to stick it can overload the drive motor and ultimately burn it out or damage the drive gears in the motor or wiper gearbox the gears are made of nylon and are not very robust. Kevin Where i live we have had no snowit is very cold at night but during the day blue skies and wall to wall sunshine for 3 or 4 days. To get back to your wiper problemtake off the standard blade pull the piston out as far as it will go then fit a wiper blade as large as will clear to the edge of the screen if the drive mechanism has failed completely the wiper will just follow an arc and will clear
high consider this I had to purchase the complete passenger side rear view mirror assembly because some sod broke it (without leaving a note of course...) and it cost me 385 Swiss Francs which is around 410-420. I nearly had a second heart attack when the parts guy quoted the price Its REALLY funny you should mention that my drivers side was recently broken. Man you think 420 is bad... 987. Yep mercedes
Quote Quote Hi I am looking for good used or new (if reasonable price) rear wiper motor assembly for „86 230GE. Does anyone have a stock Thank you. Sorry to hear about your problem if your wiper is able to move in and out independent of the drive mechanism you will have to remove the complete wiper motordrive unitthis link shows how windshield wiper . There may be 3 reasons for your problem(1)the large nut on the back of the drive head may have slackened (2)the nylon gear inside the drive head is slipping on its shaft(3)the nylon gear has stripped.
Sorry I should have mentioned I had checked the switch and was getting full contact. I went out and removed the motor and disassembled and re-greased. Looks like some small amount of water had got in at some point but nothing major. the spindles were all dirty and the tracks on the wheel were pretty crudded over. I cleaned the whole assembly sanded the contact runs and greased it all back up again

Hello Ok wippers stop in the same incorrect position. First make sure the ignition is off when you have your hands up in the linkages or you can seriously injure yourself. First remove both wiper arms from their shafts on the outside of the car. Next get under the dash with a flashlight and a 13mm wrench and unfasten the main linkage on the end of the wiper motor shaft. Remove the small linkage arm
OK I found the wiper motor in the driver side footwell a little above the steering column and saw that the nut is still on the arm but the arm itself has broken off I can only see one part of it and its no more than 2 inches long. Im not sure where the other end of it went. I will look for it later but if I cant find it and reattach it somehow (JB Weld) Ill be needing a new arm. Im guessing replacing the whole mechanism requires the whole dash to be taken apart Ouch.
I too am experiencing a noisy wiper ever since they on a scheduled maintenance replaced one of the wipers.br br They have applied glass polish and I think replaced the wiper again. Its much less offensive however the mechanism or motion is still quite noticeable. I taken to use the intermittant function which has no variable motion for the time being.br br
Im not sure of the W220 but both my W140 and W124 have grommets sandwiched between the pump and and washer reservoir. Theyre cheap and easy to replace. Id hate to glue the pumpmotor and housing as a unit because invariably the pump will give out. Just my 0.02. On a side note my headlight washers on the W220 gave me a bit of a start twice. The first was when I bought it. I wanted to see the headlight
Mine makes a very small amount of noise its never concerned me. I just drive real crazy and all the honking horns cover it up. Truth to tell Ive been trying to remember to figure out if there is a lube specified for that up-n-down mechanism for the monoblade maybe Ill ask my stealer just for the fun of it. Of course then you have to figure out how to take the arm apart to lube it...Sounds like it might be another DIY when I find the time. Take care and enjoy the ride Greg

The wiper linkage on my 87 560SL has about 2-3 of sweep looseness at the blades. The consensus diagnosis is that the football-shaped pivot between the wiper motor linkage and the wiper arm driveshaft linkage has one or both of its mounting bolts loose perhaps one of them missing altogether. I posted this a few days ago on the MBWorld site..... HERE IS THE TRUTH ABOUT mercedes-benz EXTENDED WARRANTY. As a mercedes-benz salesman i purchased the mercedes-benz ELW (extended limited warranty) when i bought my E55. There is not as much mark-up on the MB warranty for the dealer as you may think. Retail was 4500 CDN. In the US it might be 4000 USD and the dealer makes 20% or 800. After-market
OK I figured it out.. just wanted to post the solution here since everyone helped me out. Thanks I ordered a new recirc pump (you can order just the pump without buying the entire duovalve). Pulled the wiper arms wiper cowling and unscrewed the pump (4 screws). Installed new and reconnected the electrical connector. Works perfectly -- problem was FOR SURE the circulation pump. I checked the climate

We have an 02 e320 wagon and love it (30k miles). 2002 is probably the best year for the w210 since it was its final year and lot of the bugs were worked out. It really depends on how much desire you have to get an e320. Statistically Lexus is way more reliable than mercedes across the board. I think they are the most reliable brand according to Consumer Reports. If you love your current Lexus have

Hi According to the mercedes-benz maintenance booklet a Vito without ASSYST should have an Oil service every 22500 km and a Maintenance service every 45000 km. With additional work being carried out at 2 and 3-yearly intervals. The booklet also says that the 90000 km Maintenance service should also include additional operations. Hi Dukegrad Just to add another idea. When you said you took the wiper apart and lubricated it did you really dismantle it That is did you remove the whole mechanism from the car detach the motor drive from the wiper shaft (marking position) and then unbolt the 17mm nut that allows the shaft to detach and unscrew the 3 little backing screws and that allows you into the wiper mechanism itself If u did
into buying a 2002 c320. Wondering if there are any common problems with this model. Oh yeah - plenty.... mostly electrical and VERY expensive to fix. The key thing is to find out if they have already been taken care of during the warranty period by the original owner - with the VIN you can have a dealer run it through their computer to get a history on the car - as long as it was serviced at a mercedes

I had something like that happen on my RX7. It was a worn bushing for the wiper drive arm. I am not quite familiar with how our wipers work because I just got my car but I noticed that the single wiper oscillates so there must be a mechanism in there that allows it to move up and down thus I am guessing that this mechanism is fubar in yours and is letting the arm travel further than it should.
