MERCEDES BENZ CLASS G Clutch cable

I am sure this was posted before but i could nt find it Having just fitted a Nokia Carkit to my G as the new rules in the UK are that from NOV1st it is illegal to use a cellphone while driving unless it is hansfree I noticed while working under the dash that the rubber seal bellows where the cable goes thru the body was OILY and it was black like engine oil is there any reason for this. It did nt feel like clutch fluid or smell like it either. Everything works fine too. any ideas.

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS A I 168 semi automatic problem (no clutch)

i have a semi automatic A class avantgarde(1999 version) and i think the gear clutch sysem is going - i was wondering where i could get a cheap semi automatic gearbox and how much it will cost me to replace Once i tried to change the gear nob but i could not take it off it was like it was wealded on.... is it possible

If you do an Ebay search for A class mercedes theirs a good few people breaking them that may have what you want. 1) Manual pedal box 2) Manual clutch hydraulic pipe (goes from slave to master clutch cylinder) 3) You may want a new clutchbrake fluid resevour. You can use the one you have as it has a small block off pipe on the side of it that you can run the black plastic pipe from to the master cylinder.

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS E II 210 Accelerator cable snapped

So Im driving my 2001 E430 4matic to work yesterday and stop at a light. Step on the gas when it turns green and the gas pedal drops to the floor and I go nowhere. I idle over to the side of the road and pop the hood. Taking a closer look I notice the accelerator cable has broken from inside the connecting pivot. Ive never heard of this happening on any car before. It wasnt rotted or anything just

I could go on about why theres a kickdown switch too

Older M-B transmissions (like the one in my car) use a vacuum modulator a cable and a kickdown switch. I have also broken motorcycle clutch cables before. It seriously sucks. My last bike came with a clutch cable but when I lost it it had a 516 solid rod that was not going to snap. That was a foot-operated clutch.

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS A I 168 Aggressive clutch engagement A160 ACS

I have a 1999 A160 5 spd with ACS & it intermittently has very aggressive clutch engagement generally in 1st & 2nd. Doesnt happen all the time & nothing specific induces it (although if you put the car in 1st foot on the brake & give some throttle it will usually do it). Another forum member is experiencing similar issues in this tread. httpwww.benzworld.orgforumsgene...to-clutch.html The car has done

hi mate I got your pm but better to discuss here to help you and others. The ACS has 2 engagement stages when the brake is pressed and a gear selected the clutch is disengaged. When you select a gear with either hand or foot brake on the clutch stays disengaged when the brake is released the clutch is moved to the biting point then on throttle application the clutch engages fully depending on how much

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS V 6382 is my clutch about to die

have been looking around and im still not sure what to do this only started a few days ago..and has come and gone i cant get onto gear once ive startedany gear.. have to kill engine and put in gear and then start (once or twice the van has shifted a bit while doing thiswhile clutch still down)..once moving im fine-apart from once when i could not get into 5th and the other gears needed an extra shove

Have you tried pumping the clutch pedal a few times before trying to engage gear I was wondering if there is a little air in the system if pumping the pedal helps then try bleeding the clutch. Other than that it sounds more like a selector problem than a clutch problem perhaps taking the cables off and greasing them and the tower mechanism will help Good luck

up date i disconnected both ends of the 2 gear linkage cables and gave them a good greese on the ends under the ashtray..i could not get to the cable in the engine -it seems sealed.. i also pumped the clutch and it seemed to work fine afterwards so air in the system it could very well be..and as futfuther proof i just read while looking for bleeding instructions that the clutch and brakes share the

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS M W163 OT Shifting Manual Tranny Without Clutching

Im posting this here because you folks seem to have much more xperience than most other forums so here we go. Dont know how many of you drive manual tranny cars but I love them and hope all cars were manuals. Anyway on Christmas day and after it snowed here and I got stuck in the snow on my way to store driving my VW Beetle FWD. On my left a ML320 was also stuck and I watched ad the inexperienced owner

When I used to run in open wheel FF series we used Hewland gearbox and they have no synchros at all. They are just more weight and more parts to break. Thus the heel toe method and blipping the throttle with your heel to get the shaft speeds the same speed to shift without grinding gears. I do it to my Tremec gearbox all the time in the Cobra just for fun. It always is a hoot when the change the rear

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS V 6382 108cdi self repairing clutch

Hello fellow merc heads. Bit of a strange one here. About a week ago when I had a full load of 6 people in my 2003 dualiner I noticed the clutch was starting to slip ever so slightly when under heavy load. this has been getting increaseingly worse over the week to the point I had to drive with a very light foot and excelerate very lightly to be able to drive the van with out the clutch slipping. MERCEDES BENZ CLASS V 6382 Juddery clutch

Ive managed to sort out my horendous oil leak which turned out to be a worn aluminium ring seal on the chain tensioner. No sooner have I sorted this but my clutch is now working itself. CHRIST Every gear change from 1st up to 5th is now judderingjumping away as if the clutch is slipping. It is driving me up the wall. Does this mean my clutch is knackered or is it just an adjustment thing Oh by the way Ill remind you guys that it is a 1997 108D. I love it so much. STU

its not impossible but I would say its unlikely normally if your crank seal goes and it leaks oil onto the clutch its starts to slip not judder thats my experience anyway. If there perhaps a plug on the bellhousing that you can remove and shine a wee torch in and see if the internals are oil covered How is the clutch actuated oil or cable

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS C I 202 Anyone know how to adjust clutch on sunroof motor please

My mums got a L reg (19934) c180 with just 11k on the clock However the previous owner never used the sunroof and my mum has only just started to use it this week due to to heatwave here in the UK. This means that the sunroof is a bit stiff. I have WD40d the rails every 6 months or so and this makes it appear to move smoothly however the windows and sunroof are wired to the clifford alarm to automatically

I think you might do well to check the rails for any signs of preventing it closing. The runners have some limited adjustment which might do the trick. I had one where the roof was not running square in the runners which never really got sorted despite many adjustments. The motor is in the boot - follow the cable rack down from under the parcel shelf. I cannot remember though if it has any cutch adjustment.

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS V 6382 Gearbox and shifter bushings cables and err stuff

Hi My gear shift is little bit notchy most noticeably in 3rd and reverse. Its recently had a new clutch and flywheel so it is no issue with that and the issue was there before. Does anyone know which bits need to be replaced to improve things There is some play on

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS E III 211 Best aftermarket warranty

Have a CLS55 AMG and want to get an extended warranty. What is best Thanks guys for the help Cheers

I posted this a few days ago on the MBWorld site..... HERE IS THE TRUTH ABOUT mercedes-benz EXTENDED WARRANTY. As a mercedes-benz salesman i purchased the mercedes-benz ELW (extended limited warranty) when i bought my E55. There is not as much mark-up on the MB warranty for the dealer as you may think. Retail was 4500 CDN. In the US it might be 4000 USD and the dealer makes 20% or 800. After-market

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS G Cruise Control for 280GE

I met another Gwagen member Damon in Columbus Georgia. He has Cruise Control on his 1986 280GE. Does anyone know the Part Number for this Cruise Control option Who is the best supplier that I can order it from I would like to add this to my 280GE as well. Attached is a photo. Thanks Van

Cruise because it is considered to be one of the best. It also is an electrically driven unit so it can provide full throttle response without the limitations of the vacuum driven types. My goal on vehicle work and modifications is to have an installation that is solid and reliable. I also try to keep it clean and as close to resembling stock as as I can. I converted the unit to work with the mercedes

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS S III 140 1994 S320 No forward gear engagement

Hello I have a 1994 S320 with a 722.508 transmission. When I shift into any of my forward gears (2 3 4 D ) there is a slight drop in the RPMs and when I give it some throttle the RPMs rise but there is no forward movement of the vehicle. Reverse is working as it always has and works fine. What would be my next step in troubleshooting this issue Thanks John

no cooler to radiator cross contamination this will be a slippage on all gears. The main oil pump on the transmission could be damaged too. Download the master.pdf document. On page 7 the troubleshooting section will outline transmission component problems. The document is good for 722.3-722.4 & 722.5 Transmissions. Study the master document to familiarize your self. MERCEDES BENZ 190 W201 Replacing antenna cable

Its a pain in the ass unless you have small hands. I replaced my antenna cable for my 1989 190e 2.6 today. The cable itself cost around 30.00. I screwed the old one up when I removed the old Becker radio and replaced it with a Blaupunkt about six months ago. I was stupid enough to cut the wire instead of just pulling the plug and I couldnt haywire it because there wasnt enough room to work. I left

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS C I 202 Converting my 94 C220 from Auto to Manual 5speed

Converting my 94 C220 with 249 000 miles from Auto to 5 Manual. Here is what I have done and found out so far 1.A manual transmission out of a 190E or 190D will fit. It can be the 5 speed 717.411 or the close ratio 5speed getrag with dog leg first gear. 2. Pedal assembly from the 190E 190D will fit with small modifications in order to connect the top bolt on the bracket. 3. The Shifter from 190E190D

The driveshaft from a 190E auto is what I am using but it is a little on the short side - it only is using about 2cm from the 5cm spline length so I am thinking of taking the driveshaft of the 190e manual (which is too long) and having it cut down so it would fit better and maybe even have it balanced to the rear half (which is the original of the c220). I hear something like that should cost around

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS M W163 98 ml320 problems

Hi I got a 98 ML320 and I have following problems. problem 1 SOmetimes when I turn the key the starter does not crank sometimes it does. problem 2 After driving a while BRAKE light comes on on the instrument cluster and transmission gets stuck in second gear. It feels like its a fail safe mechanism to prevent you from going fast. What causes BRAKE light to come on and why does it affect the transmission

system or a possible faulty parking brake switch. Problem 3-Either your AC system has leaked out all of the refrigerant or you have a blend air door problem which is very typical on these trucks. Turn on the AC and then look at the compressor and determine if the clutch is engaging. If it is working then you have a blend door problem. If it is not then you are low on refrigerant. httpwww.benzworld.orgforumsw163...hind-dash.html

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS S III 140 2 years of ownership update. Long and potentially boring but maybe useful.

My ownership started at 88000 miles and the car now has 117400 miles. 88000 miles I broke all the rules and purchased sight unseen from a Florida

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS V 6382 97 V230 - Twitchy Throttle Response (OnOff feel)

Anyone else have a V230 with a twitchy throttle By twitchy I mean that (at least in 1st & 2nd gear) it has a very on off feel...especially when pulling away from a full stop. What I think it is is an overly STIFF spring of somesort in the throttle linkage somewhere. This stiff spring makes it very difficult to modulate the throttle input softly...especially when one is in a rush to pull away. It usually

Ill take a look and see if I can spy that spring in the throttle pedal...I figured as much as I didnt think a benzo would have a lo-tech throttle cable as such. I dont think its the clutch. The clutch action (pedal) is a bit heavy...but not unusually. (Ive owned 80 vettes...now those were HEAVY) If Im in 3rd gear or higher and give it the berries...I dont get any engine spin up...so the clutch I think

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS M W163 DIY Changing alternator in ML 320
