mercedes benz class b rear damper shock absorber

Answers and questions: mercedes benz class b rear damper shock absorber

I like your resourcefulness Nice work.

Nice job on the fillet weld Good idea to bevel the bolt head to get better penetration and use of cooling to preserve rubber components. An alternative to using water spray is to tie-wrap a water soaked cloth in the transition zone between the weld and the rubber.

Thank you gents Ive used the water soaked rag before too - very good for a job youre doing in a workshop but since I was stuck outside doing this one (Im part way through building my new garage but the cars need arrived before the garage did ) I reckoned the water spray would dissipate more heat. Unfortunately its the price of mercedes parts that forces the resourcefulness but I reckon over the last

anyone can share the rear shock absorber replacement procedure I need to have this replaced. Whats the tricks to get the shock come off from the lower control arm and then get the new one into Do I need another jack to support the lower control arm so to release the tension

The shock absorber has arrived. I saw the brief instruction accompanying with the bilstein shock absorber saying All rubber-mounted strutdamper attachments must not be fully tightened until AFTER the suspension system is loaded (wheels on the ground). Other mounting fasteners (for example brackets) must be securely tightened BEFORE load is placed on the suspension system. Which fastner has to be fully

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS S I 126 300SD Shock Absorber Replacement Rear Seat Removal

I just replaced the shocks in my 300SD with KYB Gas-A-Just shocks (www.oneclickautoparts.com). Here are some tips that will help you if youre going to do this one yourself -On the front shocks the bolts that hold the shock to the control arms dont have normal hex heads. They are somewhere in the 10-11mm range but I couldnt get any size socket to fit them. The only tool that worked was a 10mm craftsman

Now that Ive replaced the rear shocks Im starting to think it might not be the worst notion to change out the fronts even though they didnt seem that bad before I had new shocks on the rear to compare them to. Then I need to look into the little shrimpy dampers next to the motor mounts...

All I can say is that he must have bought a used one with some wheezed out dampers or he drives on cowboy roads all the time and his idea of bump is a 2 foot pot hole. I have always stayed OEM and drive all over our horse farm with it. Never bottomed out. As far as body roll shocks are not a factor. Spring rates and sway bars control that. Hi all my car has covered 82000 miles and Ive recently noticed it sitting unevenly at the rear (the LHS is very low compared with the RHS - viewing from the back). I attempted to raise the suspension (using the switch on the console) and it did and levelled itself off but over the last 2 days the LHS has dropped again. I would suspect that the LHS rear shock absorberdamper is losing internal pressure

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS E III 211 Will there be a model year 2006 E350 4Matic

The Autoweek report and confirmation that the E350 will be available in the US beginning next month (February) is silent on the subject of whether there will also be a E350 4Matic. I recall that the E500 4Matic remains without the availability of the new 7 speed transmission and it is reported that this is the transmission that comes with the E350. This suggests we may not see a E350 4Matic in the near future - at least in the US.

at least for the European market but without the 7-speed AT. The reason is that the transfercase and the shortly longer 7-speed AT does not fit in the E-class. I have a E350T 4Matic myself on order with the new again for the European market AMG sportspackage with lowered suspension (lower that a backwheeldrive) and my dealer told me it is delayed untill begining of february (4 weeks delay). Tried the 300TE with the rear loaded up with the kids for the first time at the weekend. Noticed a worrying swaying from side to side that wasnt there with just myself in it. Just the slightest imperfection in the road seems to

Hi I just upgraded from 1996 S320 W140 to 2000 S500 V220. I think there must be something wrong with the suspension on the V220. The W140 was much smoother and handled rough roads very smoothly.
