MAZDA 6 I GG GY Cabin Air Filter ModSave money and breath better&33

httpwww.mazda6tech.comindex.phpoption...id43&Itemid49 I thought of this mod after reading the above link on how to change your cabin air filter. This will save you money and make your air fresher in your cabin. I went to my local mazda dealer today to get a new cabin air filter which ran me about 32-33 with tax and came home to do my install and mod. What I did was get my roll of active carbon prefilter

idea 2 questions. 1) How much is a roll of that carbon filter at Lowes Homedepot 2) Would you recommend doing this on top of a new cabin filter then just replacing the carbon section every 12000 miles or so Or do you think it would be fine on a grungy ole filter someone might have in thier car for a while now [b] 1. I want to say it&39s in the 10 range. And if you were buying it solely for your mazda

MAZDA 6 I GG GY MazdaSpeed 6 Air Filter

Guys do any of you know the part number for our STOCK air filter and possibly where to get one. I went to mazda today for an Oil Change and the Stealership wanted to charge me 50.00 for an air filter... I told them to go scratch. I went down to Pep Boys and the ONLY air filter they have listed is for the 6 wturbo... It was listed as a 2.3l wTurbo but doesnt fit its about 12 inch too long. Thier Computers

You won&39t see any parts under mazdaSpeed6 it&39s listed as a mazda6 2.3L with Turbo. I don&39t know if they fit or not but these are the part &39s listed for AutoZone. K & N 33-2279 Fram air filter CA9669 Stp air filter SA9669 I&39d also like to add use the OEM oil filters. Get the 10 pack from one of the vendors from this site. The ones at the parts store are too tall and crush when you tighten down the oil canister.

Looking over at Arlington mazda&39s site... httpwww.finishlineperformance.com...intenance.html ..it looks like all 2.3&39s use the same air filter. It&39s 20 through them...which is likely the same filter that is 50 mazda. Case in point...I wanted the windshield sunscreen dealio. My dealer can get it for 60 while it&39s 35 through Arlington... I&39m sure if you give them a call they could help you out...

MAZDA 6 I GG GY How to extend the life of your cabin air filter

Heres how I cleaned and treated a cabin air filter on a 2006 6i 4cyl. Depending on your climate and driving conditions you may be able to extend yours and do the same or simply perform the procedure halfway through your expected replacement interval. If yours is too filthy or damaged get a new one. This is not a solution for AC condensor mildew problems as noted in other threads but it doesnt hurt.

MAZDA 6 I GG GY FRAM air filter mazda6 i

Does the FRAM air filter for mazda6 i notably improve performance Im thinking about getting the air filter. Can someone tell me about their experience Thanks -Adam

I usually use Napa or OEM air filters but I&39d use Fram in a pinch. I 2nd the no performance gain. I&39ve never noticed any decrease in gas mileage from a Fram air filter either (used them in my Jeep Cherokee and Ford Ranger on occasion but not in the mazda) and I keep a log book of mileage. Fram gets a bad reputation mainly because of their standard oil filter. It is very poorly made but their air

MAZDA 6 I GG GY Regular Air Filter

It looks like it is about time to change my air filter on my 6i. I was wondering what air filter would you guys recommend in using I do have the air box mod in my car but don&39t want to get an expensive filter like K&N. I was considering of getting mazda OEM Wix (from Napa) or Fram. The Wix air filter is almost the same as the mazda OEM so I might as well get mazda But the Fram is considerably cheaper. What do you guys recommend

MAZDA 6 I GG GY Best price for MS6 cabin air filter

Anyone recommend a good source of the correct cabin air filter for the 06 MS6 Part number GJ6B-61-P11 I believe I thought I had found a genuine mazda air online but it was 30 I may have found one on rockauto but I&39m not thinking it&39s a genuine mazda part and thus I am not sure on the fitment. Any recommendation for sourcing these My dealer can&39t order them since they are not speed certified or some crap like that. Thanks Matt

I know I read somonewhere of somone buying a cheep large home central air filter cutting it in half and making 2 out of it so that is what I will do next time. No way im paying 30 for that again. httpforum.mazda6club.comindex.phpshow...abinairfilter And Rock auto is selling all mazda6 parts as mazdaspeed6 parts. They dont know what the Fuk they are doing and I posted it in their thread but im sure they wont fix it httpforum.mazda6club.comindex.phpshow...pentry1533399

Everyone Thanks for all the info... I think I will buy one new OEM mazda filter and then do the cut your own that aviotor79 posted the link to from then on. 30 a filter is kinda pricey. I&39m trying in my head to justify the 30 price...like airflow length of life etc....I keep coming back to making my own or buying the cheaper one and making it fit. ..Matt

Don&39t you just love how mazda made the cabin air-filter just slightly different in size so we would have to have a special part number with an especially steeper price. Same with the windshield. the Vin number window is just barely offset from where it is on the mazda6 so that we have to have a special windshield that costs more than twice the price.

QUOTE (Modat5 Mar 16 2009 1201 PM) Quote Anyone recommend a good source of the correct cabin air filter for the 06 MS6 Part number GJ6B-61-P11 I believe[b] We purchased a Beck-Arnley Part No. 0422045 from RockAuto last summer. Cost was 12.00 and change. I closely compared the Beck-Arnley to the OEM mazda GJ6B-61-P11 filter when we made the swap and (except for accumulated dirt on the old filter) they were visually identical.

MAZDA 6 I GG GY How to Replacing the in-cabin air filter

People sometimes overlook this maintenance. But it&39s important especially if you have allergies. How to replace the in-cabin air filter

cant make much out of the picture but I didn&8217t want to gross anyone out Unfortunately the poor blighters had passed on (my reckless driving is innocent here) but just goes to show what can happen if you never look at the filter. My 6 is 3 years old and from looking at all the crap in the system I doubt the previous owner ever replaced the air filter If my experiences are anything to go by mazda

easiest thing to do litterally took less than 5 minutes... remove glove box remove cabin filter cover remove filter replace filter with new one put back cabin air filter cover put back glove box. went to my local mazda dealership and grabbed one for 20 bucks i have less than 26k on my 6 so it wasnt that dirty probably could have just vacuumed and reuse the cabin filter hahah

MAZDA 6 I GG GY Cabin Air Filter

Anyone know where to get one I went to Checkers and ordered one when it came in the filter is the wrong one. Checkers system shows the mazda6 filter being the same as the Speed6 and they are not So where do I get one besides the dealership I looked on Fram&39s and Wix&39s websites. They don&39t show one for our cars Part number would be helpful too

the dealer is a rip off. its a couple dollars more for the speed air filter as compared to the regular 6 and there is no difference besides the size of the filter. of course they made it a different size so we&39d have to buy a different one....kind of like the winshield VIN cutout deal. just another reason why mazda pisses me off.

MAZDA 6 I GG GY Help Too many air filter choices

I decided to buy an aftermarket air filter and after doing some research Ive found theres a lot more brands than I thought. For oilcotton air filters alone theres K&N S&B Kool Blue airaid and Green filter. Im probably missing a couple. All these guys seem the same except for Green filter which uses cotton weave instead of cotton gauze. And then there are foam filters like AMSOILs. On top of that theres

Quote Also not to mention that someone on here or another site over oiled the cotton filter and actually screwed up the MAF as it was sucking up loose oil. An excellent point Blue mazda. I think I read of the same thing happening with an oiled foam filter too. The consequences of over-oiling make the idea of just swapping out one paper filter for another that much more appealing. At this point I think

MAZDA 6 I GG GY Bomz Intake & Other Air Filters

2007 mazda 6i - Just purchased this thing over the weekend. First modification and probably the only modification under the hood (besides a strut set bar perhaps) was of course to get some more air flow in there. After researching it was obvious that the CPE or AEMInjen intake was the best way to go CPE being the best. I figured id give the Bomz kit a go and see if I could bare a check engine light

MAZDA 6 I GG GY Cabin air filter questionidea

Time to change the cabin air filter in the wifes MS6 and Im having trouble finding one under 30. I saw the threads about making your own and that got me thinking. I was wondering if K&N makes a filter that is the same dimensions (8.5x7.75x1 is what I saw in another thread) so then I could just clean it when it needs to be changed rather than buy one every time. Couple questions for yall Going to do an oil change next weekend. Got some shell T6 5w40 oil and am planning on getting the BOSCH Part 3314 Premium from RockAuto. MAZDA 6 I GG GY How to replace cabin air filter

I&39m sure it&39s easy but rather than feel my way through it I thought I would just ask. Mine is probably filthy

Quote I mail ordered mine from one of the sponsors for 23.48. Here&39s the link . The only rub is that you have to pay for shipping (8.75) unless you buy 100 worth of stuff. I picked up a multipack of oil filters with wrench cargo net and some other stuff at the same time. I wish I bought crush washers for the TC DIFF & oil plug (my local dealers require prepay for special orders even for nickledime stuff ).[b] Hmm have you installed the filter you got from them already The link you gave me brings up a page that shows the cabin air filter but says it&39s NOT for mazdapeed 6&39s. It must be that small size difference between the regular six and ours.

MAZDA 6 I GG GY Where to purchase replacement air filter

MAZDA 6 I GG GY Air filter for 3.0 V6

The stock air filter on the V6 has two mazda stock numbers RF4F13240 and AJ57-13-Z40. I have no idea why a single number would not suffice. Third-party replacements are available from Wix (42885) and BeckArnley (0421663). Theoretically Purolator (A25585) and Hastings (AF1249) also make reoplacement air filters for the V6 but I have never seen either in the wild. My question is aside from price is there any basis at all for choosing among them

MAZDA 6 I GG GY OEM or K&N Air filter

Hi folks... Thinking about putting in a new air filter... Where is a good placewhat is a good price for the air filter I know that Fram does not make one for the 6 yet. Or should I plunge 38 down and go for the K&N drop in filter I am not looking for performance (better mileage or more power is always welcome) but this is just a simple routine maintenance...Thanks for your reply in advance

The stock mazda6 oem filter is not restrictive in any way. It accounts for less then 6% of the overall airbox restriction. You&39ll get much greater flow if you just remove the resonator airbox tray and remove the flapper plug then any amount of aftermarket airfilters. If your even considering a CAI in the future I&39d hold off on the replacement element. As elements go if your hellbent on one get the SnB element (draxas sells it) its a far higher quality one then a standard K&N flimsy one.

MAZDA 6 I GG GY Diametersize of cone filters supplied with Cold Air Intakes

Hello Can someone tell me what size the cone filter is that is supplied with cold air or short ram intakes from AEM Injen or K&N We have been selling high quality S&B Power Stack filters for quite some time now. I want to make sure to stock the size filters necessary for those people who will look to replace their filters on their kits. If I knew what size the opening to the filter was and how long

Ilal2ielli Thanks for the info. I want to document this and add these filters to our mazda6 section of store. That way people who own one of these cold air intakes and are looking for a replacement filter can easily find the correct size for their application. I think the AEM intake uses a filter that has a 3.0 opening to it....but I need someone to verify this... Nikolas
