lexus is power steering fluid pump

Answers and questions: lexus is power steering fluid pump

LEXUS IS I Something up front is leaking Steering related i think

Hey guys something under my truck is leaking red fluid. It looks to me like some sort of shock absorber or something and its connected to the steering stuff. Any idea what it is Here are a couple pictures the 2nd pic is of the thing with the rubber stuff pulled away. It should be obvious whats leaking by the wet looking stuff in the pic. Thanks in advance

For the meantime until you decide your course of action you can add either transmission fluid or power steering fluid with leak preventative to get you by. Both are 10 weight oils so it will not affect the pump. Some dont like the leak sealers but if you are going to be opening the system in the near future you should be fine. If oil is getting out water and contaminates are getting in.

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS M W163 Ongoing Power Steering Problems

So here is the brief history on my 1999 ML 430 power steering problem. Bought this car about 3 months ago for my wife right before we moved to Washington. Started hearing a whining noise and figured the ps fluid level was low. It wasnt so we took it to the dealer. They told me it was the ps pump and would cost 1200 to fix. Decided to buy an aftermarket part from RockAuto and have a independent mechanic

1 year ago because it was leaking. Subsequently but un-related the lower PAS fluid cooling hose popped off the radiator resulting in an immediate loss of fluid and steering assistance - my poor wife who was out alone in the ML at the time was not impressed to say the least. Finally I found a solution for the ML power steering issues and numerous other niggles - I replaced the whole POS with a lexus

BMW SERIES 5 E39 How to flush power steering system

I was driving home and heard a noise while turning steering wheel. I stopped at the gas station and my PS fluid was really low so mechanic added Trans fluid to my power steering - didnt even ask me. How bad is it what should i do Thx

THeres another way to do a complete ps flush wout even having to turn on the engine. Ive done this on several of my Toyos & lexus autos and imo works better than relying on engine (pump) assist because you get to control very precisely how much fluid flows out of the system. PROCEDURE Raise the front wheel off ground so you can turn the steering wheel l-r wout the tires dragging the ground. Then using

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS M W163 01ml320 is this a fair price

I finally found another white ml320 with the sport pkg. Its a new car trade at an Infinity dealer. One owner lease trade in and always in Florida no New Orleans floods ..etc. Anyway it has AMG wheels and 45k miles and they dropped price down to 19900.00 from 24.900.00. Im thinking that 18000 would be a fair price. What do you guys think

they do tend to be more problematic when new then go for a while without any problems. Of course later in life they tend to develop more problems but there does seem to be a good period of worry-free driving for the most part. If you donĂ‚„t have the mechanical inclination and donĂ‚„t want to be hit with the rare but ridiculously expensive repair then by all means either buy a warranty or a new lexus.

BMW SERIES 3 E90 E91 E92 E93 Dealership Dilemma e90 steering issue unresloved but got complimentary scratches Yay

I took my 2008 e90 to a local dealership here in San Diego there are several to choose from and after weighing distance and reviews I decided on South County BMW. The Problem When turning the steering wheel when at a stand still (maneuvering out or into a parking spot most commonly) or at very low speeds (below 5mph) I would feel a vibration in the steering wheel. Almost felt like the power steering

BMW SERIES 5 E34 Well took to check out for maf and found way more stuff. This car is way more mess

be so great. p.p.s. A word on the aesthetics such as colour - trawl the internet for pictures and save them to your computer - lots and lots of pictures with kits and colour combinations. When you can find no more - start looking through them to make your decision. Btw pearl white is the wrong shade for the e34 and any other bmw. Its become a brand colour for some japanese cars - i believe the lexus.

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS R W251 V251 Thinking about 2006 R500

Hey all new here and looking to become an active member Im interested in purchasing a 2006 R500 and I was wondering if there are any gotchas or long-term reliability issues I should be worried about. I found one in my area that has 66k miles but it seems like a lot of the interior switches are having issues (drivers seat forward switch rear window child lock switch). Owner says theyll replace but Im

think it is an excellent car and if the OP is careful they can find a well maintained one that has records showing all the problems have already been taken care of. As far as high prices of parts I find them on par with all high end cars German or not. Here is a good example recently I had all brakes and rotors replaced and the cost came to 1200 at the dealer. My next door neighbor took his 2008 lexus

JEEP WRANGLER Hydraulic Cooling Fan

I know this is probably not practical to do but I saw this last night of my brothers 93 lexus SC400 and it has got to be one of the better inventions. His cooling fan behind the radiator is hydraulically powered. The engine has a seperate hydraulic pump which pumps fluid to turn the fan. I was thinking that it might be possible to run one of these off the power steering pump in the Jeep. The pump on

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS E III 211 e320 CDI Maint.

Have had out e320 cdi for about 30K miles and I have changed the oil 3 times had transmission fluid done at the dealer done the fuel and air filters. I have cleaned the EGR due to code and going to Limp mode and every once 3-4 months it throws a MAF code. My wifes driving is short city jaunts so I will blow her out on and clear the carbon. I am thinking that the MAF codes might also fix the soot and

rid of the motor steering pump for the electric one because the weight of the pump a mere Four pounds to increase MPG. Go figure . By getting rid of over 10 pounds I am doing better than Japs engineers . the devil is in the details. MERCEDES BENZ CLASS C II 203 Need help diagnosing weird noise please

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS S IV 220 06 S430 Reliability

Hi Everyone We just traded our 2005 LS430 for a 2006 S430 4 Matic..Were first time MB owners so I dont know that much about this car..Im getting worried about the some of the things Ive been reading here. Is it fair to say Mercedes has worked out most of the kinks on the W220 for the last production run Also what sort of things do I need to look out for For example on the earlier LS400s you had to

the earlier LS400s you had to change the power steering fluid often and clean the screen inside the pump. Are there specific things I should be looking out for on this car As part of the deal the dealer is paying for the scheduled maintenance through 39K miles. I find the oil change interval of 10K to be way too long. Same goes for the recommended Trans fluid flush at 100K. Ive learned from our lexus

BMW SERIES 3 F30 help me decide between 3 series and 5

Hello. I am in the market to buy a new car and I found my criteria in the bmw (5 series3 series). -Luxurious - Fairly powerful -New model -Reasonable Price -Great driving experience -sedan But I am confused and here I have some questions if you do not mind I would like to ask. I am very confused between the 5 series and the 3 series since they almost look the same and they are around 10k apart which

but the 550 with a V8 is also available (and fast). The five series is quieter due to more weight in the vehicle more sound insulation and perhaps a stiffer chassis and different comfort biased tires (dont get the sport package if you dont want a firm ride). The 3 series has more tire road wind exhaust and other kinds of noises. Its not loud but its not vault-like quiet like you might find in a lexus

BMW SERIES 3 E46 Empirical Proof Suck Superior to Drain for Oil Change

Ok finally some proof that oil change via suction is superior to the drain method. Been wanting to do this for a while Car is a 2003 E46 330i 6MT with approximately 59K miles. I drove the car into the garage after a long run and let it cool for 45 minutes. I jacked it up on the jacking points ensuring the car was level. I proceeded to evacuate the oil via my usual Mitivac method out of the dipstick.

if the Mityvac had left any oil in the crankcase it would have drained out into the catch tank I had setup. Case closed. Or at least a data point of one. Mityvac FTW. Ive been using an oil extraction pump for three years and was easily convinced that oil extraction is a great and easy way to go. I have a Pela PL650 and it only takes a few minutes to extract out the oil from my 2002 330Xi and lexus

JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE I ZJ Any Advice Im Ready to buy my first GC

Hello All I have my heart set on Grand Cherokee but with my limited budget of 10k Im having a hard time finding a model with less than 100k and leather interior. Im not opposed to owning an older vehicle but I do worry about the repairs for a GC that has passed the 100k mark. (The leather is a must as the smell of jet fuel lingers in cloth seats.) Ive got to have it for several reasons I need the space

Otherwise if you are not handy get ready to pay serious dollars for labor cost from a shop. Do I like the car Absolutely the best car I ever owned..
