The manual from the online lexus service says Micro dust and pollen filter button. Operates micro dust and pollen filter onoff. Outside air mode switches to (recirculated air) mode. pollen is removed from the air and the air flows to the upper part of the body. Usually the system will turn off automatically after approximately 3 minutes. But Im not sure why you would want to bypass it. I know our Prius always filters the air.

yepp so if you have a pollen allergic person in the car during pollen intense period you simply push that button and it will go over to internal air that is separately cleaned from pollen by this mode. I notice a big difference for my son thats allergic when you use a filter for this solo purpose it seems much more efficient than using it always for everything like the normal filter.
Yeah. The purpose of it is to blast the pollen that has settled on your clothes in the car cabin then it filters it intensively so youre theoretically no longer exposed to the pollen on your clothes. Its like the air shower lexus employees must go through when entering the car factory in Japan.

In the same meantime for my other car (an Acura for which I pay for all maintenance items) the regular maintenance items (as dictated by its internal computer which like the BMW tells you when to take it in for service) have included things like oil changes every 5-6K miles tire rotation and balancing (every service) replace air cleaner and pollen filter etc. Im sure that maybe Acura recommends more service than needed as the poor dealers need to make money but it seems to me that BMW should do more. Obviously I like not paying for service but honestly one oil change per year (100) shouldnt really be counted as an advantage for the BMWs. Am I missing something - do we get more maintenance in the 3rd and 4th years I think you need to read your service invoices. There will be engine scope checks and and at least one brake flush. With my previous bimmer within two years I received... 1. Two oil changes 2. Brake flush 3. wipers 4. multiple scope checks and software updates 5. Complete set of brakes. If all you have received is 2 oil changes in 2 years you must not drive much. I think service intervals should be somewhere between BMW and the competition. BMW wants you to come in less to save them money Acuralexus wants you to come in more to make money.

pass through the factory installed cabin air filter Face it as the entire population gets older they dont want to have to deal with pollen in the cars (just like the air filters in the home furnace) FAO Swartz went bankrupt because the population is aging and the young kids are just not being born to replace them. It was basically an impossible task but the lower purchased part costs increased profitability on other models even though DR was in the red. You probably wouldnt believe me as well if I told you that an Avalon and lexus
