JEEP WRANGLER Frame Rot leads to just another build thread.

CJs and YJs had their rot spots... It seems the spot to watch on a TJ is the rear frame at the control arm mounts. This is what my 97 TJ frame looked like I have a good friend and fellow club member that owns a 4x4 fabrication shop. We decided that the control arm mounts would need to come off in order to fix the frame. so why not upgrade the rear axle and link it. I found a nice junk yard 8.8 And

MERCEDES BENZ 3 point hitch assembly...

Okay I hope this question is easier than my last one.... Im at the point of pulling the lift arm assembly to get a better shot at the frame (and maybe leave room for a nice winch) will I ever use it in the future .... probably not so Im thinking of leaving it off. The question is ... is the torsion bar attached near the springs needed or does it inhibit suspension travel and frame flex Is there a market for the assembly Thanks GB

Hey SDO I remember drooling over the pics of your setup I think Ill follow your lead on the rear swaybar. The big hydraulic pump seems a must as well whether it be for a winch or just as a way to regain PTO capability by routing hoses around obstacle vs. the shafts through the frame. MERCEDES BENZ 123 123 Euro license plate chrome bracketframe

Hey everyone... Ive got a set of European bumpers to put on my w123 as well as a German plate to put on with it. After looking at some of the gallery pics I noticed that many of the Euro models had a chrome license plate bracket of some sort mounted to the bumper. I did some research on here and found a MB part number 1108850081. Apparently this is a factory part which also has a nice crease in it

for the parts because European bumpers are illegal in the US as well as German license plates. Furthermore they will only provide spare parts information for how the vehicle left the assembly line. You can grab some clear sealant and reseal the lens to the plastic frame. Be sure its the lens to the frame and not the lens assembly to the body youre sealing up. The glass lens is attached to the plastic frame via adhesive and this lens frame assembly is what clips on to the headlamp housing. This adhesive over time dries up and cracks leading to the leaks. Mine did the same a while back and I just

When you lift the axle is shifted over to one side and when the suspension cycles up and down the axle now moves side to side in addition to up and down. MERCEDES BENZ SL 107 560 SL Door Handle Removal

My 1987 560 SLs drivers side door pull handle seems to have an excessive amount of looseness at the front hinged end. I want to remove the door handle assembly to see what the problem is. It appears the MB factory manual is a bit outdated on this latest style door handle. The manual indicates two screws hold the handle in where my car has only one. Removing this single screw didnt allow me to slide

Thanks RR CC I got it off earlier today after giving it some thought. I thought better too of hammering on the loosened screw. I used the largest punch I have that would fit through the access hole beneath the weatherstrip (which I pulled out of its channel in the working area) and tapped the handle assembly forward. But the handle failed to swing out as the factory manual said it then could. What the book failed to mention was the later cars have a long keyed rod from the handles lock cylinder to the doors locking mechanism which you have to turn with the key to disengage. Once I did that the assembly swung out. The second undocumented issue I discovered was the electrical cable connected to this handle. It is accessed via a rounded rectangular plastic cover about halfway down the rear of the door. You simply disconnect it from its mate that resides in that cover. I hoped to be able to remove the handle without removing the door panel and the factory service manual seems to indicate thats possible. But I found what keeps the front of the handle assembly snug in the door is a set screw (thanks 3547fl) that if its loose enough to let you reinsert the handle into its slot its too loose to compress the gasket and give a tight fit with no play. So off came the panel. And it was a good thing to do as I discovered why I was getting a metallic snap whenever I raised or lowered the window. The window mechanisms counterbalance spring had been strumming back and forth along the frame when its slotted holder long ago wore loose and fell from its mounting hole. I found the piece which had apparently only been riveted into the frame. I drilled and tapped an M6x1 hole in it and re-secured it to frame with a very short M6 bolt from behind which I red Loctited in to keep it from coming loose. But the original problem remains the loose pull on the handle. There is a pressed in 4mm pin that acts as the outer door pulls front hinge and mine has vanished. With the door panel and sheeting removed I hoped to find it laying in the bottom of the inner door--but no luck. So tomorrows mission is to find a suitable substitute. Doesnt it always seem that even the simplest repair leads to a weekend adventure Thanks for the help buds Good road

are intermittent. The PCI Bus system operates on a 0 to 7.5 volt square wave. If you were to connect an oscilloscope to pin 2 of the data link connector on a system with no problems the oscilloscope would display a nice square wave. Most people do not have a 2000 scope so I have devised an easier method. You will need a digital voltmeter to continue. Set the meter to DC Volts Connect the red lead

Step 6 Installation of the clutch control and pedal assembly. This is the part I spoke of in the beginning of removing the seat before you disconnected the battery granted you have power seats that is. It makes it so much easier by being able to lie down while installing the new pedal assembly. Assembled master cylinder (mounted the clutch module on the master cylinder and attached one adapter lead.
