JEEP WRANGLER II TJ Traded my Land Rover for 06 TJ

I just bought my first Jeep. I traded my 2000 land rover Discovery II on a 06 TJ X. I was a member of a land rover forum and Jeeps were always bad mouthed. I have to tell you the truth. land rovers are pieces of . I had nothing but problems. It was ok off road but was always leaking something. All the LR forum members were in denial about the quality and capability of their rigs. Im going to change

The reason for the valves sticking on all land rover engines from the 4.0 to the 4.6 is a very simple one. The engines run rich and build up carbon deposits on the valves which eventually leads to a valve job. You can avoid this by using a fuel additive like chevron with techron once a month and using good quality gas. When I bought each of my land rovers I knew exactly what to look for before buying

EAS if you have a leak say in one of your bags and you leave it like that for a while the entire system takes a huge strain trying to keep up with the air loss. Eventually your compressor will fail the valve block with leak or a soleniod in the block will fail leaving you with a heavy bill and a trip to the dealer to reset the EAS hard fault which could have been prevented. A lot of 95-02 range rover

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS G G-Wagen vs. Range Rover

Last week there was a post asking about how the G-Wagen compared with other Luxury 4x4s. Does anyone have any opinion about how it compares with the range rover I am thinking more about the 460 series than the 463. My first vehicle was a 1963 SWB land rover. It was tough but it left me with little respect for British engines since it needed a valve job after 60000 miles. I suspect that the Merc engine is a lot tougher but maybe the RR aluminum body holds up better.brp

JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE range rover vs jeep

sick of repairing the jeep anyone have experience of both Im in the uk so range rovers are probably better for parts

i have a 95 land rover discovery as well as a grand cherokee. my disco has blown head gasketsvalve cover gasket leaks. im not sure if the heads are cracked might have saved it befor it overheaded to much. land rovers are great when they run but are a to fix. that is why they charge 100 an hour to work on them. i do have fun driving it and its a tank in the snow. the fuel mileage does suck on them

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS M W163 ML500 vs Land Rover LR3 - road test

I promised you guys to write a short road test report comparing the LR3 to the ML500 well here it is httpwww.mvw.netlr3roadtest.php Cheers Mike

Quote mwillems - 142005 728 PM I promised you guys to write a short road test report comparing the LR3 to the ML500 well here it is httpwww.mvw.netlr3roadtest.php Cheers Mike Thanks for the review. I am currently considering options to replace my wifes 98 ML320. The LR3 appears to be a very good vehicle and I like the looks. What I dont like is that 2500 kg weight (up to 2635 with options) and less

Congratulations on your vehicle though--Im sure you will enjoy it. Thanks Yes the quality is a gamble but my ML500 dropped almost 50% in a couple of years - and even existing Discoveries do better than that. So once bitten twice shy. Right about the fuel consumption but this 4.4l engine is a very smooth and proven engine and the proven is important. This engine will also power the new range rover

JEEP CHEROKEE Weird air valve on rear bumper

Yesterday I decided to pull out my hitch that was rusted into the receiver. I ended up under the car with a big hammer and got it out. While I was under there I found a what looks like a valve stem mounted under the rear bumper. Now go with me on this because I have had this Jeep for all of 2 days. I tried to trace the line which was a small rubber hose but couldnt figure out where it went. Is this

BMW SERIES 3 E36 E36 idles rough after valve job

Hey guys new here not to BMW or being a home mechanic. Bought my wife a 98 328i July 5th cheap with a puff of smoke at start up that did not intimidate me. Of course it got worse and worse and I could smell the burned oil in the exhaust so I pulled the head August 3rd and replaced the valve seals. I rebuilt two E30 engines years ago so was not sweating the job. Thing is on reassembly it idles terribly.

the intake back off once right after the build up when I saw one loop of the new intake gasket had popped out underneath on assembly. I have been all over and under it with a flashlight and a can of carb cleaner and the only time a change in idle is detected is if it is misted directly in to the MAF. Horn - Im familiar with that level of diagnosis but only as it relates to my 85 Jaguar and 98 land

so bushing installed months ago and issue persists. found this in a land rover website Vibration at Highway Speeds Problem Various owners have reported steering wheel vibration anywhere from 50mph (80kph) to 100 mph (160 kph). It was initially thought the problem may originate from the Goodyear Wrangler 25555R19 tire that is standard equipment. land rover initially recommended a force thrust balance

MERCEDES BENZ 124 124 W124 on LPG

Im back in a W124 First things first... I missed my 300CE very much so I always thought about another W124. During the purchasing stage I was actually looking at purchasing an ML. In fact I bought my W124 by chance on my way to pay for the ML and there she was sitting there peacefully. So I bought it. It is without a doubt the cleanest W124 Ive ever seen Body wise its good not amazing mechanically

(meaning an LPG backfireexplosion) but stays shut if theres a vacuum (normal). You may want to check that theres no damage to the inlet manifold or air flow meter. There was a similar problem with range rovers The 3.5 early EFI was a flap which was routinely destroyed by LPG backfires whereas the 3.9 was a Lucas hot wire system immune to backfires. So you may want to get in touch with a local land

FORD F150 2008 F-150 Information

Yes yes I know. The 2007s just came out but I have been reading little spot articles about the new redesigned F-150 coming out in 2008 and cant help but get excited. It sounds like it will be set up to keep the resty trailing behind and most likely include a small smoker. I am a diesel fanatic and was wondering what anyone else has been reading. I think the latest Superduty (2008) article made mention

- Ford Motor Co. will launch its F-150 pickup with a diesel engine in 2008 or 2009 a former top executive confirmed. If it arrives on time the F-150 probably will be the first light-duty pickup with a diesel in North America. Dave Szczupak who retired last week as Fords vice president of manufacturing for the Americas said the F-150 will get a version of the 3.6-liter V-8 diesel used in the land

JEEP WRANGLER The JK 3.8 not hatin legit question

KK guys well Ive been lookin into these JKs and Gotta say i really like them. I was a big fan of the 4.0L but i think this 3.8 will be just as good if not better. Now heres my question. Im lookin at the jeep website they give the 4.0 L 190 hp and 237 ft lbs torque. The 3.8 has 202 hp and 240 ft lbs. they also say that the 3.8 is a better engine cuz it will have more torque available in the higher rpm

I honestly believe the 4.0 is a better powerplant. You want lots of powertorque and engine breaking from idle. The newer V6 will not be able to deliver this. Gearing can help but not overcome. This is why diesels are often great off road they operate in low rpms and can make massive lb ft. A nice example is I have a 2.5 turbo diesel Discovery (111bhp) my brother recently had a 3.5 litre OHV V8 land

MERCEDES BENZ 190 W201 No Synthetic Oil Is This True

So this guy at the stealership--they ran a special on oil changes--tells me I cannot put synthetic oil in my 1989 2.6. He mentioned something about a code that specified as much. Is this true

ring. I run synthetic in my cars when I first purchase them. Only to clean the engine out from all the gunk that maybe in there from a previous owner. They do have a slightly better range as discussed which is helpful since I might have to change the oil once a month or once every six. (I hate changing oil in the snow) For me it all depends on my work schedule. Though on my other european car (land

Hahahaha in Europe 70% of all cars are diesel engines and European cars are sorry to say very high tech. BMW build 320bhp out of a 25 liter. land rover makes 290 bhp out of a turbocharched Jaguar 27 liter diesel. range rover makes 500bhp out of a 44 liter diesel. Audi is making the 25 hour Le Mans racer running on Diesel. And now Porsche introduce over here the Panamera and also the SUV Cayenne with

This is on my just purchased 2004 wagon. Pick it up 3000 miles from home and drove 1500 miles just fine. MERCEDES BENZ CLASS M W164 Taking it in on Friday Front Differential

I have a vibration that is getting worse quite rapidly. I never noticed anything during the Kentucky trip weekend before last but last Thursday I first noticed a humming metallic grinding noise that comes and goes along with an annoying vibration through the steering wheel. It could be a bearing but methinks its a front differential going bye-bye. I wonder how much silver glop theyll drain out of it. Ill keep you posted. Im making the appointment now. Thank God I have a warranty.
