KIA PICANTO Awful consumption. Anyone maybe knows where is the distributor on Picanto 2012

Hi everyone lots of useful material here in this forum. However I wasnt able to find an answer to my dilemma. About two months ago I bought a new kia Picanto 1.0 the base model. The car rides well its fairly comfortable and I wouldve been perfectly happy with it if it wasnt for the lack of power and a terrible fuel consumption. Power doesnt really bother me since I need the car only to get to work

Hi Boet I expect that your car is fuel injected (most cars are these days) and the timing is controlled by the ECU looking at the crank and camshaft position sensors. The ignition coils are typically mounted on each spark plug so no need for a distributor. From the kiaTech web site Quote Ignition timing is controlled by the electronic control ignition timing system. The standard reference ignition

KIA SEPHIA II 2001 kia sephia timing belt issues

Replacing timing belt on my commuter kia. I went cheap on the process and only bought a new belt. Skipped the new idler bearing and belt tensioner bearing. They both seemed fine. Got it back together and when its running I can see the belt slack up under rev and the belt begins to walk off the tensioner. Is my cheapness coming back to bite me because the tensioner is bad During installation I pushed

had to hold the cam gear from.moving with the 14mm wrench while I fed it around the gear and into the tensioner bearing. Then while holding the cam gear from moving...grabbed my 14mm ratchet and loosened the tensioner bearing so it would apply tension on the belt then I tightened it back down. Thats how I was able to take the slack out of the belt between the camshafts. I just wanted to post the soultion
