KIA CEED ED Speed sensitive door locking door

Just bought a 2011 ceed 3 crdi & according to buying guides it should have speed sensitive auto door locking. My car does not seem to have this (or it does not work) But it does have a button in the centre dashboard that allows you to do it manually Can anybody advise as to whether my car should have this feature Thanks All Pete

and remember there is something on the back seat you cant get in so you have to stretch into the inside of the door and pull the handle twice or sit back in to reach that button. I asked at every service and finally at the third one they disabled it. Best thing that theyve done for me. Ive noticed around England that there arent many hoodys hanging round traffic lights to jump in and hijack a ceed.

KIA CEED ED Rear door panel removal help.

Need help with removal of the rear door panel. Or just with the window handel (have manual windows in the rear). How do I remove it

Theres normally a cap on the winding handle covering a screw head. Not sure if same in ceeds but think our Picanto had em.

Sorry I read the original post again and now realise you want to remove the window handle not the door panel.

A quick google served up this nugget of usefulness. Might or might not help good luck soldier An old trick is to use some thick string or thin rope and wrap it round the door handle where the clip sits and in a see saw action with the string it should catch the clip ends and flick it out. It should be between the winder handle and plastic disc spacer. Usually when you fit it all back on the disc goes

KIA CEED ED Pro ceed GT - remove door trim

Does anyone know how to remove the Pro ceed GT door trim (I want to upgrade the speakers) I worked out there is a screw under the rubber pad on the horizontal door handle but not sure if the door open lever has one Obviously the panel clips in around the outside as I cant see any screws holding it on. Thanks.

I have worked out where are 2x mounting screws so far but Im unsure if there would be a screw behind the upper handle. This looks very difficult the get the glossy trim unclipped and I dont want to risk it. What do you guys think

KIA CEED ED Door Locking Unlocking Problem

Yesterday I had a strange situation where the doors would not lock. I got home and just could not lock the doors. After opening and closing each one the doors did lock so I put it down to perhaps a sticky mechanism or something. This morning I unlocked the car fine came to work got out and tried to lock the doors - nothing. Only the drivers door was unlocked and none of the doors would lock. I restarted

Quote Originally Posted by Jeebowhite If I remember right you have to set the child locks or twist your key in the side of the door to lock them I would suggest also for locking the other doors that wont have it - try disconnecting the battery to disable the central locking and then lock each door on its own with the key. that should keep you secure Have a look through the manual for the exact advise

2 and you can not take in all the bad design faults at that time. I obviously saw the red colour which I knew I had to accept but never noticed no engine temp gauge etc. however the car went well enough and so far apart from its instrument design faults I like it. Incidently I have just had a look at the instruments on Ford Focus & Golf both from ergonomic point of view are far superior to the kia

Hello i was wondering if it is possible to fold the mirrors of my 08 Pro_ceed automatically when i lock the door with my remote key. anybody done this already

MY ceed has a 3 position switch mirrors locked in the out position Locked in the folded position and automatic. In the auto position they fold when you lock the doors with either the fob or the button on the door handle. Do you have a switch like that someplace how do your mirrors fold

KIA CEED ED New Ceed owner - initial opinion and couple of questions

Morning all. New ceed owner here - moved from an N reg Punto to a 57 plate 1.4SR so quite a different motoring experience. First opinion drive-wise very excited. handles nice extra bit of ooomph to the 1.1 I had before. Lovely car inside and out. Some nice features - USB drive playback an excellent little feature when combined with ID3 tag display and steering wheel controls - I was still using tapes

KIA CEED ED Not just another Pro ceed.

Hello to everyone. Im AndiI-m from Romania and I decided to present my car with all the modifications that are made by me. I bought the car in July 2008 and in March 2009 I started working on it. I started working for the audio system. I added to two subwoofers alpine type R two Alpine MRP M650 amplifiers a SinusLive amplifier for mid and high frequencies (not connected yet).Ill change the door speakers

That looks pretty slick I like how youve removed the badge on the rear. Its a much cleaner look. I love to keep people guessing what make and model my pro ceed is. Did you simply replace the rear badge with a blank one or take it out entirely or is that a custom boot doorboot handle Also I like the blacked out silver strips on the grille (same as drakeys i believe). Its definitely a look im gonna go

KIA CEED ED How to disable auto locking in 08 Ceed

Hi Folks. Wonder if anyones tried to crack this without taking the car to a kia dealer. According to the handbook it is possible to disable the speed-dependent automatic locking which we find very annoying and a bit too nanny-ish to live with by taking the car to a dealer. Presumably they wont do this FoC however. Anyone know how to DIY this Is there a fuse that needs to be pulled or does the car have

I cant see what the problem is the car locks and unlocks itself and you can manually operate the locks with the dash button if the car is not moving also the doors can be unlocked by the passengers by pulling the internal door handle twice or by having an accident. Can someone explain the need to disable anything

Spencer Ive not had any other diesels long-ish term only driven diesel company cars for a day or two (Astra and a 5 series BMW auto - which also felt gutless tbh). Wasnt impressed with the engine in the Altea but the car itself was pretty good handled well had a nice cockpit & reasonable stereo. I certainly wont buy anything new again but will gladly go back to a pro_ceed when the current Astra dies.

KIA CEED ED Keys deadlocked in boot

Went for weekend break and wife needed something from her case in the boot. I gave her the car keys as the car was locked and she opened the boot on the remote. She took out what she wanted from her case and dropped the keys inside the case and then dropped the boot lid. That meant my keys were deadlocked in the boot. RAC arrived within 20mins(even at easter) and he pumped up door seal with wedges

KIA CEED ED Remove dash and install aftermarket DVDnavi

Hello does anybody know what the best way is to remove the dashboard of a ceed SW 2012. I would like to install my AVIC F30 BT multimedia GPS system but I need to install the microphone above my head. Now there is a built in microphone but can not use that because the plug is not compatible. The specialised firm also advized me to install the microphone that came with the new GPS system. Secondly I

I think that is the door to the fuses. Yep has a handle you put your fingers inside to pull out. However if it was like mine it wouldnt come out with a pull. Instead you have to carefully prise it out with a fine blade against the upholstery being careful not to damage upholstery. There are spring clips inside like on door panels UNLIKE the Golf I had with the fuse door in exactly the same place but was HINGED and this door opened and closed....just like a Golf....no cheap clips

KIA CEED ED Ceed Insurance

For insurance purposes I need to know what sort of alarm is fitted to a standard ceed. I have a 2012 ceed 3 (not new model).

Surely alarm shouldnt sound if the handles pulled but only if a doorboot is opened I take it you still havent managed to accidently set off your alarm then mate

KIA CEED ED New 2013 Ceed SW

Starting another thread now for the SW. Heres the first details .

Picture shows over large fuel display no permanent engine temp gauge it is stupidly placed inside the menu system no permanent trip odometer no right hand lighting switch no grab handle above drivers door. but still preferable to a Focus or Golf.

KIA CEED ED Dash Rattle Fixed

Just thought Id share this for anyone having similar problem. I have had a very irritating rattle develop seemingly behind the centre dash console which was present on most journeys. After some research I pulled the panel which was not difficult starting on the nearside and using a flat wide spatula between the dash and edge of the console. It came forward very easily no tugging or pulling as has been

i too hear some ticking sounds coming out from there. but i did not care too much because these roads suck the whole car will eventually start to squeak. what Does tick me off is the squeaky door panel on the proceed. when i grab the handle to close the door its too flexible

KIA CEED ED 1000 km trip in Proceed

Yesterday and the day before that I did a 1000 km round trip in Proceed which is the longest trip in one piece the car saw until now. The route should be shown in the picture below. First 400 kms are on highway through Croatia that ends on Bosnian border and the last 70 kms is regular road quite OK no potholes but very old asphalt and quite slippery (it was dry must be bad in the rain). I drove mostly

KIA CEED ED Couple of questions about 1.4 90 hp

I just bought the 1.4 petrol 90 hp ceed sw and so far I love the car but have a few questions that the seller was unsure of - When I stop the car I cant open the backdoors from the outside the same wether or not the engine is running. I have to manually open them with the key or the button on the dashboard. Is it supposed to be like this -The shift indicator tends to tell me to shit grar at over 2500

Worth noting that the doors will open from the inside when you stop just not the outside handles. Mine lock at 10mph so yes about 15kmh is totally normal. The shift indicator asks you to change gear to stay fuel efficient only. Its nothing to do with keeping the engine safe just trying to save you money For the ECU I asked the same question a while ago and think the 110HP ecu map gives the power in

KIA CEED ED Stupid question but got to ask How do you know if radio security code is enabled

Hi All After spending a good couple of days trying to find a compatible USB for my audio system I have come to realise there is a fault with the audio system. I have managed somehow and I dont know how to get the AUX and USB ports to work on one occassion and one occassion only. I have been advised to pull out the audio fuse and reinsert after a couple of minutes to see if that resolves the issue but

Gadgy fuses are in the dash sides. Open your drivers door remove the round-ish tri-angle kinda panel by pulling the indented handle outwards. I think the radio fuse is 5 up from bottom in the middle column. Please note itll also reset all your on-board-computer readings apart from fuel-to-empty and total mileage of course.

Hi Dubster As always your a star. I hope

Its not but if we are going to dig into this... I drove the pro_ceed for about an hour and it was almost perfect. It was the 2.0 diesel and it felt like a rocket. The interior was not even close to old kias. I must say the quality of some of the materials and built was better then the Bravo. At least the quality was consistent unlike the Bravo where for example good quality dashboard goes with cheap
