The fastest and easyest way to do this would be for you to buy new gaskets (that surround the window). Cut the old ones out the window will fall right out easy. Then when it comes to putting it back in you simply put the window into the gasket wrap a small cord or string around the gasket and set the bottom of the entire unit into place in the hard top. (This is best if done while mounted on the jeep

JEEP WRANGLER Soft Top Aerodynamics (All windows onoff..side windows onoff..Rear off only)

Question Which soft top setup yields the most aerodynamic jeep The least Ive always wondered this because I was driving around the other day with the side windows off and the rear window on and I felt like I was dragging a parachute behind the jeep (but could have just been me tricking myself). Anyone know how much of a gas mileage hit we take when we remove the side windows rear windows or both

As I dont have air conditioning... I have noticed that the rear window in with the door windows open is worst. Rear window out with door windows open andor side windows out is best top down is somewhere in between the two.

JEEP WRANGLER I YJ YJ Hard Top Side Window Channel...need help

I have a hardtop on my 92 wrangler. One day the drivers side hard top window fell out-just fell out going down my driveway. It really pied in my cheerios that morning. Luckily it didnt break. First off does anyone know if the

JEEP WRANGLER Side Window Does Not Seal

Posted this in the YJ (and then the TJ sorry) thread by mistake which obviously people are really offended when you do so... I have a 2010 wrangler with a soft top. The side window on the passenger side zips up nice and the door holds it in place nicely. The drivers side not so much. The door does not catch the window flap flush and while I am driving the gap will expand making for a noisy ride. How do you guys handle this Thanks in advance.

JEEP WRANGLER OEM Soft Top side and rear windows

JEEP WRANGLER Baggy side windows

I have a 2003 soft top on my 1998 TJ. I got the whole top (sail cloth all windows frame) from the 2003. The top fits great but the side windows are a little baggy. By this I mean they seem like they are a little too long up and down to fit tight. It doesnt really cause a problem but they flap a little if I dont have the air blowing inside to pressurize it. Im wondering if it is because I still have

JEEP WRANGLER I YJ YJ Drivers Side Door Window Sticks When Cranking Up - Help Please

Hi My drivers side window sticks at various intervals when cranking it up. I have to grab the glass and pull it up while cranking to get past the sticking spots. JEEP WRANGLER Hardtop side window seals

Does anyone know where to find these any links I cant seem to find a definative answer on the web or on here in old posts.

I had the same problem this past year. You need Urethane to sealhold the window. Last time I checked Napa had it the cheapest. As for the seals you can find them for 20-40 dollars (a piece). If you Google hardtop rear window seal you might find some links. here is a link I found Hardtop Liftgate Glass Seals & Replacement Parts for wrangler YJ and jeep CJ7 & CJ8 Total for both windows plus urethane

JEEP WRANGLER Replacing a Hard Top side window

My dad recently acquired a 95 jeep YJ that was wrecked into a ditch. He plans to fix it up and drive it. One of the things that busted when it was wrecked was the driver side hard top window. A tree actually cracked the hard top a little and shattered the window. Is there anywhere you can buy a replacement window for the hardtop If not does anyone have any suggestions on what to replace it with Lexan

A side window or the rear liftgate glass if its the liftgate I used plexi and it worked just fine. The side windows are better to replace with OEM style glass due to the shape (they bow out a little) but I think you could make either or work. I would replace both side windows with whatever you use for the drivers side but thats just me.

JEEP WRANGLER Bestop Supertop NX side window issue

Hello all. New member. I have had my jeep approaching 4 years now on lease and am buying it out come February. So needless to say Ive started thinking about upgrades and modifications. JEEP WRANGLER Need source for hard top side window trim...

I have been searching the net all evening and cant seem to find a source for that plastic trim that goes around the side windows on the hard top. Anyone know where to get it Thanks Steve

I finally found a reasonable source for the side window moldings for the hardtop - 11.75 per side at this link . The Mopar part number is 55175170 and is the same for both sides. Go to the link and enter the part number in the middle of the page and select jeep. If you need the clips the Mopar part number is 55134656. Quadratec is the cheapest place for the clips at 3.99 each but they dont carry the

JEEP WRANGLER replacement driver side soft windows

Recently had some idiot break into my jeep by slashing my driver side window (I never lock my jeep btw so things like this dont happen) and well Im looking for a replacement. Thing is I cant seem to find any retailers that just sell the one window instead of the whole set. Its a relatively new best top sail cloth so theres no need for a whole one. If anyone could point me in the right direction Id appreciate it. Thanks.

JEEP WRANGLER Side Windows Question

This is a dumb question.. and Im a new jeep owner (2010 wsofttop)). I wanted to get one of those storage bags to store the rear and side windows. Im confused how the side windows can actually roll up. There is a nonbendable hard edge along the door jam... so you have to roll it the other way... but that has the hard semi bendable edge that tucks along the bottom... and I feel like rolling that part up could disfigure or snap it.

JEEP WRANGLER softop side windows storage

im wondering where can i place my 2 side windows when the top is folded down id like to have it on the jeep just in case.. but i also dont want to buy that 80 cloverpatch thing that holds the window.. did anyone make their own thing for onboard storage so they stay scratch free thx

JEEP WRANGLER I YJ CJ7 hardtop side window on YJ hardtop

Is it possible to put a CJ7 Hardtop sidewindow on a YJ hardtop I know the hardtop fits but the owner would rather see the window switched. Best regards Daniel Hermansson Sweden

CJ side windows are too small to fit in a YJ top. and your avatar looks almost identical to my jeep.

JEEP WRANGLER Hard Top side window weatherstripping

so i need to replace the weather stripping on both side windows of my hardtop. Quadratec used to sell it but for some reason they longer do. i searched as well as did a live chat on their website. where can i find this i was going to do a paint job and weatherstripping replacement on the top before installing it for winter. kind of on a time crunch now. Dammit Quadratec i thought you sold everything

JEEP WRANGLER Soft top side window flapping DIY fix

The side windows on my soft top stay tucked into the door surrounds great as long as I drive under 60mph. Once I get above 60mph no matter how I tuck them in they always end up flopping in the wind. I went to the local Hobby Lobby and bought two strips of Velcro. I attached the softer side of the Velcro to the plastic door surround that stays on even with the top down and attached the other stiffer

that should do it. Here is how I do the sides 1) start the zipper for maybe 3-4 inches. 2) insert that elbow into the groove. 3) zip the rest of the way. 4) make sure it is pulled tight towards the back of the jeep. (the corners can slide a little so I give them a good yank once it is zipped to make sure it didnt cheat forward) 5) re-check the elbow is seated good. 6) fold the bottom flap under the body lip. I made the same mistake the first time I did the windows on mine.

JEEP WRANGLER rear side windows wont stay in place at speed

I have a 08 4 door Sahara Unlimited and I just put the soft top on about a week ago. I know that Ive got everything on correctly but the sides will not seat and stay put in the door frame. Every time I get up near highway speeds the wind catches and they start flapping in the breeze. Im tired of pulling over to fix it. Whenever I close the rear door the moulding pops back out so I push it in so it feels snug in the door jam and it just keeps doing it. Is this normal because its piing me off

you said door Jam so I figure you are not putting in the jam right. OK on the end of the side windows (where it goes into the jam) it is shaped like an L and is hard. This actually wraps around the jam and the end of the L goes inside the jeep. May not make much sense but if you need pictures let me know.

JEEP WRANGLER Side Window Panel Storage

I know everyone is always stating to search the forums I have never had much luck finding what I am looking for... Anyway after removal of the side window panels and rear panel what does everyone do for storage to protect the as you travel Do you HAVE to remove teh rear window or can it just be folded up with the top I just pulled the hard top and put the factor soft top on for the first time.

For the side windows I roll them up (rolling at the short side not long). Yes they roll and no it doesnt deform the plastic strip on the bottom. After they are rolled I put them in my Tuffy storage behind the seat. When I didnt have the storage I just put them behind the rear seat out of the way. There is some sleeve you can get when you roll the side windows...but ive never invested. The rear window

My wife made 2 black felt pillow cases that work perfect. They are about 2 wider than the window width. They are also about 3 or 4 longer than window. Drop the window in the pillow case roll it up. I never remove the rear window when I have the soft top on. I use a black felt towel that is about double window height and about a few inches longer than the width of the window (long measurement). I stuck

JEEP WRANGLER Side windows where to put them

I know zip them into the soft top... Anyways where do you put them when you take them out Do they fly out of the back when you are driving Do you roll them fold them ball them up and shove em under the seat I have a 2dr with no back seat and the softtop is in the mail. Just wondering... Dan

The side windows dont come out until the doors and floorplugs are out for the season. Then the windows go in an old TJ Mopar window bag with soft divider pages (a little tight but the sides and rear window do fit with some adjustments) and hang it on the garage wall where they are protected safe and out of the way til Fall. Love the clamp hanger solution but not for me - the windows would just become

JEEP WRANGLER Yet Another Soft Top Side Window Problem

So far everything has been great with the Vehicle and this is probably the first problem that I am reporting but I could use some advice. I will try to describe this clearly to paint an easy picture of what is happening. The side windows do not line up properly where they meet the rear doors vertically. There is a hard angle piece that is supposed to wrap around the font portion of the window and it

JEEP WRANGLER Leaking soft top (Rear side windows)

JK 4-door. Every time I put the top up in sunrider mode the velcro comes loose where the top meets the upper front corner of the rear side windows. Then eventually it starts to pull away from the door sill altogether. Even after putting the top back down it never seems to line up and I end up having to take the top all the way down. Am I missing a step when I put the top up into sunrider mode

I did notice one thing when opening my sunrider top. I was folding my top wrong before until my wife noticed that the tuck away tabs had notches on it showing where to fold it into a W shape. Now it doesnt make such a racket when doing over 50mph like it did before. This may help you Something that I also do is to partially unzip the rear side windows when puting the top back on as it helps make it

JEEP WRANGLER III JK 2012 jk soft top side window question 2dr

Im having trouble finding a spot to store my soft top side windows while driving. I bring them with me cause you never know when its going to pour. I put them under the seat but people in the back seat can still step on them cause they sit out a lil but. I was thinking about creating a metal or wood box to just fit behind the back seat to store in their. One so Know one can steal them (hopefully that

Here is what did. Took my back window to a local fabric store. Had them cut 4 lengths of flannel longer than my back window. Then layer. Fabric rear window fabric side window fabric side window fabric. Roll them up and leave in your rig. Fabric- 20. Straps from Wal mart-5 saving a boat load of money while having and effective and attractive way to keep my window - you already said it- priceless.

JEEP WRANGLER Whats the best manner to store the plastic side windows and rear window

I recently purcased a storage boot for my soft top and it came with some storage bags for the side and rear window. However this requires that I roll up the windows thereby messing with the plastic rails which as you know is an integral part of putting the soft top back up. Do any of you guys have better idea or does it really not matter if the plastic rails get rolled up

I roll both my side windows up but I keep the roll VERY loose so it doesnt damage the rails. Then I put a bungee cord around the roll and toss it in the trunk under the soft top when its down. I have to do this to carry the windows with me in case I suddenly need them. Works fine. No damage to the side windows or rails. sparky

JEEP WRANGLER Hardtop side sliding window

So i have the factory hardtop anyone replace the side windows with ones that slide open ...can it even be done Dogs are driving me crazy trying to get some nose sniffing air thanks

I have been wanting to do this too. Itd make a softtop unnecessary. Just open rear side windows open rear window open front side windows and its nearly a convertable but without any hassles and without having to buy a softtop. I wonder if this could be done for less money than buying a softtop I dont want to take my top off anyway. I sunburn to easy. But open air on the sides would be great.
