JEEP LIBERTY CHEROKEE seat belt light and beep

my girl friend has a 2004 jeep liberty renagade and the beeping when she doesnt have here seat belt on is really really annoying is there anyway to turn it off thanks in advance matt

That procedure works. I did it on mine. I hate electronic nannies. I know when my seatbelt is off and theres already a light on the instrument panel indicating so. I dont need an additional audible buzzer. (Not that I advocate driving without your belt its just a matter of principle.)

Oh my gosh Not wearing your seat belt Oh save the children In my new Civic if I simply put it in to gear without

Wow. I love how this became a morally powered jeep forum. Anyone wanna slow down for just a second and think of the possibilities he may want to shut it off before forcing their oh so right opinion on him. For instance I came across this page because Im currently in the process of helping a friend move and a load on the front seat has caused me to drive 200 miles with the dash beeping at me. Thankfully

i just did it in my 08 JK besides that i also ride a HARLEY which somehow the manufacturer forgot to put the seat belt chime on so i dont have to worry about turning that one off either. haha

JEEP LIBERTY CHEROKEE Seat Belt Light and Dinger

How do you turn off the seat belt light and Dinger on a liberty I have a friend that just got one and would like to get arid or the dinging. Thanks in advance.

Sorry but I am a very saftey concious person I will not comment on this one.

I agree with you totally. Just he asked me to post this.

Wear the seat belt and it will go out and stop dinging. Inform your friend that the airbags in a vehicle will KILL a person who is not wearing a seat belt. I had 2 days of training on passive restraints last week so the effects are still in my head.

Ditto tell him to put on his seat belt and the light and chime will go away Quote Originally Posted by rob92xj Wear the seat belt and it will go out and stop dinging. JEEP LIBERTY CHEROKEE Replacing seatbelt - cause of airbag light

Airbag light on traced to faulty passenger side seat belt. Wondering what is average pricing to install new belt recalibrate seat.

Thanks for the reply - dealership just said seatbelt although below you may see a clue of what it may be. Anyways its an 04 liberty 3.7L. Driver and passenger side air bag lights on - out of the blue one day. After in the shop for hours they (dealership) said we know what it is - the seats. Need to recalibrate. Well wrong. They then told me its the seat belt - counted clicks and said only 48 vs the

JEEP LIBERTY CHEROKEE flashing heated seat light problem

Hi I have a 2003 2.8 LTD Cherokee it has the heated front seat option but the on the drivers side when i turn the seat on the low heat indication light flashes ive been told that the seat may need to be replaced (costly im sure ). Could anyone advise what the fault is and any way of fixing it without me having to source and have a new seat fitted any help would be much appreciated. Tbou2

The flashing low heat light indicated that there was an open sensor. Instead of replacing the seat I ordered the heatersensor from jeep ( 100.00 dollars) and waited one week to get the part. Four bolts hold down the seat and a torx socket removes the seat belt. Place the seat upside down on a work bench and remove the wiring for the motors. The seat cushion is held in place by four bolts and you may

JEEP LIBERTY CHEROKEE Seat Belt Not Latching

Hello I was wondering if anyone is having a problem with their seat belt not latching andor unlatching periodically. I think I wore out my seat belt latch. The problem started a few months ago and then went away and now its back. Its kind of scary. I was driving along and all of a sudden the seat belt light went on and the beeping started and my seat belt just popped out of the latch. Sounds expensive to fix .. anyone know how hard it is to replace the latch Thanks for any advice.

passenger front belt did the same thing. i took it apart and cleaned the crud out of it. it works fine but the air bag light is on now. i havent tried unhooking the battery to reset it though.

JEEP LIBERTY CHEROKEE Seat Belt Warning ..... arghhhh

Hello to all Im a proud owner of an 05 liberty. Im also an avid jetboater jetski enthusiast. I got the tow package from jeep and it tows the boat fine. It handles the load a lot better than the SportTrac that I used to own. I unhooked my seatbelt to get a better angle to launch my boat and while doing so.... the annoyance bagan... ding ding ding ding (You get the picture.) Anyway how do you disable

The dealer has to offer seat belt extensions for all new cars (free of charge i believe). They are mentioned in the owners book. They are mainly made for big people to be able to wear the seat belt but i found them handy for this exact item. I have one for my toyota. and it works great. The extension is handy when you are loading boatsskis so you dont have to listen to the dinger It is about a 8inch

JEEP LIBERTY CHEROKEE Seat belt DING DING

Does anyone have a way to silence the seat belt bell other than putting the belt on.I hate it.I suppose it is the same ding ding that tells you your lights are on or the keys are still in the ignition.Any ideas

This is exactly right. Driving between Baltimore D.C. and Prince Georges County in between the automatic door lock feature is one of my favorite things about the liberty.

JEEP LIBERTY CHEROKEE Where is the seat belt unbuckled sensor

I am getting the airbag and seatbelt lights coming on occasionally while driving. Ive read that this can be caused by the sensor that detects whether the seatbelt is buckled or not. Can anyone point me to this Ive looked in the parts catalog but cant find anything relating to it. Is it perhaps a non-serviceable part of the buckle itself

JEEP LIBERTY CHEROKEE 06 Heated Seat & Light Bar (Factory order)

Today we were factory ordering an 06 Renegade at our local jeep dealer. We discovered that the factory will not install both the light bar and heated leather seats The dealer offered to install the light bar at the dealership upon delivery. Has anyone else had this problem If so how did you overcome it The only reason we could think of is that the alternator isnt strong enough to run both the light

I just scored a 160 amp alternator off of eBay for 30 including shipping. Now I just gotta save up for the light bar. Anyone know if the alternators can be directly swapped Please dont tell me Ill need a longer belt.

VTNomad if the pulley is the same dia. and the new alt. bolts on the same way then you shouldnt have to get a new belt.

JEEP LIBERTY CHEROKEE Passenger Seat Airbag Sensor

Today I bought my first jeep liberty(2002 Sport) came with a few things that I need to fix. I am pretty handy but haven never worked with the Airbag system on any car. This is what I see The airbag light is on. The previous owner had the passenger side seat belt latch replaced and it looks like they ripped out some wires. I can see the connector that goes back into the rug its intact and I think it

JEEP LIBERTY CHEROKEE Seat Wiring

I have an 03 liberty Sport with the cloth high back buckets. I will be installing heaters in the seats within a day or two. Had a look tonight to see just how big a job thisll be. Im told the seat covers are held on by Velcro and that part of it looks easy. There are a variety of wires going into the seats and I assume that one (some) of these relate to the airbag system. So heres the thing - is there

I can now answer my own question. There are wires going to the drivers and from there to the seat belt buckle that activate the fasten seat belt light. The passenger seat is pre-wired for something and appears to have wires going to it but they are not plugged in or connected to anything. Obviously my concern that it might have a sensor in the seat to control the airbag was just wishful thinking

JEEP LIBERTY CHEROKEE Jeep liberty interior lights

Just curious if any body knew how to replace the front interiormaps lights in a 2002 jeep liberty. I already replace the ones in the back but now im trying to figure out how to take off the cover to replace the lights. If any one could tell me or point me in the right direction that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

From the FSM first remove the reading lamp unit and then the bulbs from that unit. This first section is on removing and reinstalling the unit the info on changing the bulbs will follow. Jeff (1) Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable. (2) Using a trim stick or another suitable wide flat-bladed tool gently pry between the flange around the edge of the reading lamp housing and the headliner

JEEP LIBERTY CHEROKEE Airbag Warning light

Hey Guys My wife came home and told me that the airbag warning light on her 06 lib has come on and stayed on while driving twice now. I looked in the owners manual and it said that the airbag system could be faulty... I guess I have to take it into the dealer to get checked out on the computer my question is...can this wait until I have the jeep at the dealer for the ball joint replacements It is scheduled

There is RRT on the 06 KJs to have clockspringssteering angle sensors replaced the dealer should have done it before you bought the jeep but like the dealership I work for we were selling them fast the we could get the parts in for them. The airbag system will still work with the light on. The other possablity is if your wife is like mine she is putting a heavy pocket book on the passengers front seat
