JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE Spark Plug RemovalInstallation

I will start by saying I am the most novice car guy. The extent of my experience is changing oil and a basic 2 suspension lift. With that said I do love to tinker. I have a 2003 jeep Grand cherokee (WJ). 4.0L I6. This project started because I kept getting a P0306 fault code which was a misfire in cylinder 6. After talking to friends and scanning jeepforum I first put some Chevron fuel injector cleaner

JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE Changing Spark Plugs (for the first time)

First off I have done some preliminary research on changing spark plugs on WJ jeeps. I have a 1999 jeep Grand cherokee Limited (4.7L V8) and am considering doing a spark plug change on my own. I think I am pretty proficient when it comes to basic vehicle maintenance although I have never done anything like this before. My jeep has approximately 112000 miles on it. I am considering using champion plugs.

JEEP LIBERTY CHEROKEE Dealer P0302 code spark plugs...

My daughters 04 Liberty threw a P0302 (misfire in the 2 cylinder) code in early June. JEEP CHEROKEE replaced spark plugs - 4.0 wont hold idle - 00-01 spark coil rail

I replaced some extremely nasty (Im guessing factory) spark plugs the yesterday. I did a quick startup and let it sit at idle till it warmed up to regular operating temp 200-210(normally 200). Today I go to take it out with my son and it has an extremely low idle jumps about 50-200rpms. I proceed to take the newly purchased spark plugs out to inspect them and check the gap again (gap is .035) on all

dealer lists and stocks and installs in your XJ now if you go there for parts or service. My guess it was harder to get the Champion Coppers for the same low price as the NGK in OEM bulk numbers so they stopped stocking it. Also there is some discussion here and there on the internets about DIS Ignition systems and Copper plugs not working so well together Maybe fact maybe not. I believe all new jeepDodgeChryslers

JEEP CHEROKEE How do you know when you need new Spark plugs

Hey I Have no clue when the last time the spark plugs were changed and the guy I bought it from didnt know either....How do I know when I need new plugs And what type should I get

The 2001 and 2001 cherokee have the coil on spark plug rail instead of a distributor. They are harder on spark plugs and you should change your plugs every 2 years or 30000 miles. Worn out spark plugs will have a negative effect your gas MPG. If you dont know when they were last changed now is a good time to install new ones. SplitFire type and Platinum type plugs do not run well in the 4.0L engines. Most people have the best results with Champion plugs just the everyday regular ones.

JEEP CHEROKEE 1997 spark plugs

hi im not very technical but i have been told i should replace my spark plugs id like to know if that is something i can do on my own and if anyone knows of a helpful video out there to help me along id really would appreciate any help that anyone can offer.

spark plugs are simple to change. Go to the auto parts store and get some Champion spark plugs for your cherokee. The everyday cheap spark plugs are perfect any Split-Fire or Platinum type plugs are a waste of your money. Buy a Chiltons or Haynes repair manual for your cherokee. It will show you what to do. You can always use your Google-fu or search You-Tube and see if there is any additional information.

JEEP CHEROKEE 96 Cherokee putts after changing spark plugs wires and Distributor cap

So I put a new rotor cap cables and spark plugs in my jeep. When I pulled the old pars off the boots tore metal from the distributor cap stuck to the boots etc so I figured that the jeep really needed it. Under the distributor cap it seemed a little dirty and the metal piece that holds the rotor was kinda rusty so I just wiped everything clean with a rag... I dont think thats where the problem occurred.

JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE what spark plugs on the 4.0
