JEEP CHEROKEE 2004 grand cherokee radiator fan

K so window wiring fixed but now the radiator fan isnt working Not the fuses but not sure what else can be wrong. I can run the jeep but not long without overheating (of course) can anyone help ASAP Need advice maybe relay or a sensor T was overheating before the wiring problem but now its worse... Please help

Wrong forum but its most likey your fan relays. On your model there should be 2 in your fuse box under the hood. Test the fan first by jumping it to the battery. If it works check your relays. check it out here httpwww.jeepforum.comforumf310...4-0-a-1370578

Thanks Ill see what we can do sorry its the wrong forum just needed advice ASAP

no problem and please follow up with your findings so others can benefit.

Its under the battery tray newer relays have a big heat sink on them so possibly look different from the one fitted at the moment. Easiest way I found was to take off the grille battery and tray and then you can even easily remove the headlamp assy to give you more room.

If I remember correctly the 04s relay is in the same spot as 02s and 03s. Stock relay.............. Upgraded OEM relaydealership only and worth the extra cost.........

I got the one from the dealership and it doesnt have a heat sink... I think they sold me a retured one. When I asked he said he said we dont sell used or returned relays. I told him. but the packaged was stapled together. I didnt open it. You gave it to me like that. anyway. so i have to take all that apart... Bugger. I was hoping for a quick resolution. Guess I better get up early tomorrow.

JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE II WJ 2004 Laredo overheating problem just started

About a week ago I was driving with my family around the mountains. When I started heading up a steeper hill I noticed the jeep was over heating almost at 260 so I parked and opened the hood and sat for about an hour to let it cool down to normal temperatures. After that I drove to and from work all week with absolutely no problems. Granted I only live about a mile from work. Then yesterday I started

JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE Radiator leak

Good Evening My 2004 Grand cherokee Laredo 4x4 has developed a leak from the radiator area. I checked the hoses plastic flanges and drain plug. I looked up and down and all around the rad still couldnt find the leak. I finally found the source and it is from the passenger side upper radiator About 2 or 3 inches from the top. Its not leaking from the hose or plastic but from the slotted seam (see photo).

JEEP CHEROKEE 2004 jeep running hot

My 04 started running hot. It only has an electric fan no mechanical fan. Efan was not running. I talked to Chrysler and they said the fan only runs with the AC on. I turned on the AC and sure enough the fan ran thats crazy. Isnt there a temp sensor that will turn it on even if the AC is off. If your temp goes up in traffic who turns on the AC Common sense says to turn it off. Turns out the a radiator flush fixed the overheat problem. 2004 cherokee 4.0 6cyl automatic 2wd Randy

Previous owner had fixed the blend door and replaced the radiator which are both common problems in all WJs. In January I was getting some misfires so I replaced the plugs 23 bucks and some change and an hours worth of work and the code went away. Window regulator broke. Again 30 bucks and an hour of my time and it was fixed. So really I havent had a single major problem with my jeep. Keep up with maintenance and it doesnt matter what edition you have.

JEEP LIBERTY CHEROKEE 2004 Jeep Liberty Cooling Fan not turning on.

My nightmare started about two months ago. First my jeep over heated and I discovered a crack in the radiator. So I patched it with some epoxy and it was good for about a month. Then I (stupidly) let the jeep idle on a hot day while pumping gas and it over heated again. I got it home only to find out that the fan is not turning on and the epoxy had melted off the radiator. So I bought a new radiator

Well here are some pics of my new to me jeep. The white one is mine which is a 2004 and the red one is my dads which is a 2000. They are both v8s.

JEEP LIBERTY CHEROKEE 2004 Liberty Limited rad fan controller

My wifes 2004 Liberty limiteds radiator fan does not come on anymore and Im in the process of troubleshooting it (gathering information stage). JEEP LIBERTY CHEROKEE Overheated 2004 v6 3.7 Liberty

I know there are a lot of threads dealing with overheating but most of them seem to deal with 03 and earlier. Any ideas for my poor 04 would be welcomed. Heres the scoop so far. Last June (2011) my jeep started overheating. I changed out the thermostat and that didnt do anything. I then got a new fan ( httpgoo.gla5E94 ) and everything got better. Fast forward to this June (2012) and the overheating

2004 3.7L. We just had the radiator replaced as well as the top and bottom radiator hoses. There is now no heat. The top hose is hot when the car is warmed up (temp gauge at 12 oclock) but the bottom hose is cool. Is there a thermostat in the hose that is not opening up Did they install the thermostat backwards My wife picked up the car. When I finally looked at it it needed a lot of radiator fluid.

JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE Plow on 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Is this worth it or a POS httpcgi.ebay.comebaymotorswseB...idp2759.l1259 ebay item 370138716688 Also any plows that work with the WJ or is it a airbag issue Also anyway of getting a Meyer 2 Meter on it Thanks Ryan

I have an 04 wj with the 4.7 v8 and currently have a Snowbear personal plow on it. Its a 7ft blade on a light weight frame. I live in Maine we get a dozen or more storms a year and I plow 4 inches per storm. This is the first year I have had the plow on this particular vehicle but it seems to be fine so far. I have plowed 2 storms for about a foot of snow. The mount uses a bolt that ties into the motor mount through the frame and and arm that wraps around the front of the lower radiator support. As long as you go slow and dont try to ram anything you should be fine. I dont drive around with it on my jeep. I put it on for a storm plow then take it off. Let me know if you want more info. Andy

JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE Any mods for the uh lower radiator grille area

The exposed portion of the radiator under the bumper just seems unfinished to me. Anyone made up an insert or something more aesthetically pleasing

Im actually looking to do the same thing. Put a 20 single LED Bar down there. Itll be somewhat hidden and keep the overall look of the front clean. On my 2004 Limited there is about a 2 inch gap between the lower radiator and chrome fascia that I eyed as a potential. Any thoughts

JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE What the heck are these on my radiator

So I just ordered a new radiator its a crown radiator from kolak and it has these ports on the side that go into the radiator and the original one doesnt have them....so what the heck are they

On the 2004 the trans cooler is built into the AC Condenser for the 4.0. The radiator while a different part number should work just fine.

JEEP LIBERTY CHEROKEE Liberty 3.7 overheat new radiator thermostat

JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE replaced radiator on 4.7 std fluid questions

I put a new radiator in my4.7 std output 2004 JGC Limited. What a PITA..lol The hydraulic lines to the fan were sooo tight...no leverage for a wrench. The lower transmission line was easy to get off but a real pain to reinstall..ended up removing the rubber hose between the lower fitting and the line to the transmission. Lost a little tranny fluid and lost a LOT of power steering fluid for the fan.

JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE Bought a used Limited its missing the radiator fan fuse

I just noticed today attempting to fix a separate issue (The window and lock controls om the driver side door all stopped working a wire snapped in half on the driverside door) and the radiator fan fuse was missing. This worries me because Ive driven the car for 2 hours straight at times and the engine temp did creep a little bit into hot territory (Nowhere near overheating though). Is there any damage

There is nothing to worry about. When the hydraulically driven radiator fan was introduced in 2001 for the 4.7L engine there was no need for the 40A fuse F10. Its not missing because it was never there in your 2004.
