I went with an OEM quality Bosch 67646 Electric fuel pump Assembly for my 96 ZJ from Amazon for 222. Fits both the 4.0 and 5.2 96 ZJs. JEEP CHEROKEE How to tell if you have a bad fuel pump or injectors

hello all I just purchased an 89 cherokee 4x4 with an inline 4.0 6 cylinder 5 of the 6 fuel injectors had been replaced and I just noticed what sounds like a fuel pump whine coming from the back. Today I was out running errands and I went to start her and she turned over but wouldnt start. Open the gas cap to relieve some pressure waited 5 mts or so and she cranked. My question is 2 part. First could the 1 remaning fuel injector that was not replaced be causing the fuel pump to work harder therefore making noise or do you think the fuel pump is just starting to go out I have already replaced the fuel filter it was fuel of junk but that didnt help. and last could it be just replacing the one injector do any good I found the injector for 50 and the fuel pump for 90 and know how to replace both but I dont have a fuel pressure gauge to check the pressure t the fuel rail so I dont want to buy parts that I wont need or wont fix this problem any suggestions thanks I appreciate any help as I am new to owning a jeep love it though oh and its got 189K on it
